Hi Uni!

My dd2 and I are jealous of your baby-balet class.
Our 2 year old is always wearing a tu-tu or at least a leotard and she talks endlessly about going to dancing school when she is three because all of the dance classes here are for 3 and over...

I have managed to get a friend to buy me a test this morning so I shall have some kind of answer before I go to bed tonight.

I will post here when I know.

Not really sure about either prospect at the moment but as UniS pointed out: Ho hum... Que sera, sera.

Astrophe · 12/09/2008 21:27

ooooh, exciting Caddy! Would it really truly be so terrible? I'll email you...
Cesky Krumlov is really nice, but sadly the campsite is fairly crappy - no hot water, no doors on showers, no loo roll...se we will prob move on tomorrow to Prague rather than stay here. Tis my birthday tomorrow! I forgot until yesterday! Not sure how different it will be to normal days as DH is a bit hopeless with celebrations, but I can think of worse places to spend it!
x

Cadmum · 13/09/2008 06:06

Happy Birthday Astro! The campsite sounds horrible! Move on indeed especially as it is your B-Day.

I have just replied to your email.

A baby would not be the end of the world. BUT I only have a 50 % success rate and my losses have been second trimester and anything but fun. I am also just crap at the whole pregnancy thing and I am WAY too OLD to be having babies in foreign countries. NYC was hard enough.

Guess I am about to find out though.

It was a clear, dark, unambiguous BFP. I kind of wish that I was still just wondering...

Initial thoughts following the test: My poor kids!

laundrylover · 13/09/2008 09:50

Happy Birthday Astro!!! Live it up in Prague woman.

Caddy...not sure what to say...congratulations for starters! How you feeling about it today? {{{{{{hugs}}}}}}

SpandexIsMyEnemy · 13/09/2008 10:26

erm, congratulations with caution caddy I think is the responce.

what does your DH say? is there any chance of going back to canada for a spell around the birth time?

Cadmum · 13/09/2008 10:47

Thanks for the congratulations. It is OK to laugh at me now. I can handle it.

I know how it works (I took 1st year biology) and I am an adult after all... ...though you might not know it from my behaviour!

DH is being fabulous...

I was convinced that I was NOT pg last week and he expressed some sadness as he had 'come-around' to the idea. That made it a million times easier to tell him this morning.

I am going to be just fine. (Obviously) It will be a rough couple of months with silly amounts of worry and who knows, maybe even a baby brother or sister for Charlie...

UniS · 13/09/2008 14:03

well you know now caddy. fingers Xed for you. Its still Ho Hum, what will be will be. Loseing a PG is hard at any point, I have managed to get a point of aceptance about it. The baby we lost wasn't going to survive. Nothing we did caused teh problem and equally nothing we didn;t do would have changed things. Wouldn't wish a Missed miscarriage on any body else tho.

Dh was treated to a 10 minute show and tell about ballet class from boys little buddy B when he saw her at Dads play group this morning. I'm glad boy and B are in same class, means there is a not quite so frilly pink child that he already knows for him to stand next too and hold hands with.

Frizbe · 13/09/2008 23:43

Well I shall say Congratulations too Caddy little surprises are always the best, my mum was one! gran was 42 and 18 weeks gone, when she wondered what that fluttering was in her tummy and as she worked at the hospital decided to test when she got into work, boy did she have a shock she thought she was in menopause prior to that! (mum has 5 elder brothers, 1 step bro and 1 step sis!) I'm sure switzerland is an ok place to do the whole birthing thing in, certainly better than Austria for a start, but like LL says, see if you can get back to Canada eh?
Talking of ballet did I mention dd2 has blagged her way into dd1's class which is supposed to be 3-5 year olds only? so it might be worth a try asking Caddy? dd2 loves it

(s'cuse the huge waffling btw guys I've not been on in a while)

Hi Spandex, glad to see life is treating you good, I agree with Caddys life lecture too though Fingers very X'd for your job, good money and good hours

Astro, hello! Happy Birthday and agree move onto Prague can't wait for the update on what dh did for you?

Had relaxing day playing in the sun here today with the kids, dh is in Wales and I had two (yes count them!) members of staff in the shop, hurrah! so after opening up this am, the girls and I did the park, had coffee (milkshakes for them) pootled around town getting daddys birthday presents for Tue) then came home and played allsorts. I'm sure dd2 will happily ride a bike without stabilisers if I can get one in her size, she's got perfect balance on dd1's big bike, I'm gona be cheeky and ask to borrow dd1's mates old bike off him when he gets a new one for his birthday they can only say no right! as she can't quite pedal dd1's bike all the way round, but is great on the trike and on dd1's mates bike with stabilisers!

Frizbe · 15/09/2008 20:19

am very of behalf of my friend today, as her dh has left her (thinking with parts other than his brain obviously) for an 18 year old, who should also know better (has spent an age whinging at me about how her dad left her mum for another woman) and yet now she is the cause of someone elses marriage break up 18 year old is on a total me, me, me trip, and cannot possibly see how much hurt she is causing. I have no doubt karma will get its own back on both her and the dh, who will in time be kicking himself for being so stupid. I am so disapointed in him and the 18 year old and so very for my friend, who is being surprisingly good and doing her best to put on a brave face and rise above it all.

laundrylover · 16/09/2008 09:18

Friz, it sounds like a real mess for everyone really.

You lot make me feel bad for being so crap at getting our kids out on their bikes! Tilly did try without stabilisers but was rubbish. They are still happy to sit in the seats on our bikes though so we had a good ride on Sun in that one day of summer!!

OP posts:
UniS · 16/09/2008 09:21

That sounded like a nice day for you and dds Friz. glad you enjoyed it.
I was working yesterday! that was a shock to teh system- shakespear schools fest, 3 schools doing 30 min plays at arts centre
last night boy had a shit night, multiple wakings and multiple wees, didn't want to know me, had to be daddy . so I went back to bed and got some sleep, poor dh didn't get much, he woke up to much.
I'm leaving boy to sleep this morning, friends popping over to play later- not sure when, but friends from up north who are breifly in devon, so not putting them off as won;t see them for another year I suspect.

laundrylover · 18/09/2008 09:16

Hi all,

Uni, I'm with you on the shit sleep at the mo...Tilly having bad dreams about sharks that I have to catch and put out the window. Kiah up at 5 for booby....

I'm off to the docs in an hour as have been having awful headaches for weeks - this one I've had for 3 days. My sis is convinced I have a brain tumour!!!

Sis from Scotland is on her way down with hubby and baby Kito. They set off at 3am so will see them for lunch at my parents. Sis and baby are staying down for two weeks so really looking forward to it. On Sun I am looking afer the LO with permssion to bfeed if necessary!!! Erk!

OP posts:
UniS · 18/09/2008 19:46

LL- how very progressive of you all (wet nurseing). Boy slept through last night HUrrah.
He knackered now tho, cycled to and from childrens centre, then walked through town, had ballet class, walked back through town and went to libraray. gone to bed early....

laundrylover · 18/09/2008 22:44

Hope he sleeps through Uni.

Doc has given me max strength co-codomol for a week to try and shake these headaches.

Should be in bed as knackered....

Cadmum · 22/09/2008 06:57

I started spotting on Thursday and bleeding heavily today... Mostly, I just feel relieved as I was certain that something must be wrong with my symptom-free pregnancy. DH is far more sad than I am as he had 'come round' to the idea.

DD2 has her dental operation on Wednesday under GA... I am feeling nervous but pleased that this could end her discomfort which may translate into her being a happier person.

laundrylover · 22/09/2008 09:00

Oh Caddy, what a week.

{{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}} for you all. Even though there may be some relief it is still an awful thing for anyone to go through - thinking of you today.

DD2 will be fine on Weds and fingers crossed it helps her poor old teeth. Keep us updated this week.

OP posts:
Frizbe · 22/09/2008 21:14

{{{{{Big Hugs}}}}} to you all Caddy. Agree with LL re dd2's teeth, fingers very x'd for her being all sorted out.

LL hope you get rid of those headaches {{{{Big Hugs}}}}} to you too, as they're not nice to have at all.
BTW I used to have sharks behind my curtains....which is silly really, as sharks defo need water to survive right

Hi Uni! Astro, DTM and anyone else about?

dd1 behaving like a right pain here, spat at dh yesterday, he's not at all happy..... seems school may be teaching our dd1 some unwanted tricks.

laundrylover · 23/09/2008 09:15

at DD1 Friz!! We now have to play schools during all waking hours.....register for meals, then learn about the five senses and do some phonics before tea etc!!! Help!!!!!!!!!!!

Caddy, how are you doing today?

BTW I kind of bfed my nephew on Sun but TBH he thought it was HILARIOUS!! Stopped him crying though and didn't feel weird at all.

OP posts:
UniS · 23/09/2008 17:01

Ho HUm caddy. sympathy to your dh AND YOU.
boy curnetly sat on loo howling... telolinmg me to go away. so I have gone. He is V upset coz we came home from field a different way to normal!

Cadmum · 23/09/2008 20:34

Hello all. I am feeling better today than yesterday...I had no idea what an early miscarriage was like. The bleeding was unreal and I am dizzy and suffering a massive headache. My heart goes out all the more to those who lose a planned pregnancy. What a nightmare!

LL: Good for you on the feeding your nephew. It is outrageous that he found it funny but at least he was not offended. (My sil tried to feed our DS2 out of desperation and he was furious).

I am currently more worried about DD2's GA but that too shall pass and there are much worse things that bad teeth so I shall get over myself. I am likely to see how spoiled rotten I am for having four healthy children tomorrow as I spend the day in a children's hospital.

Uni: I had to grin about your boy. Our girl is famous for the same howling about heaven-knows-what while she orders me to GO AWAY and leave her alone. Priceless when combined with her usual clingy M.O.

Thanks for the well-wished. It really wasn't meant to be so now to get on with it!

Cadmum · 23/09/2008 20:37

I have dd2 crawling all over me. May I blame her for the Cod-like typos, please?

Sorry.

laundrylover · 24/09/2008 09:43

Nowhere near Cod-like Caddy!

Sounds like the worst is over for the MC, physically speaking I mean. Do try not to worry about the GA...tough I know.

Two of my clients are right near Great Ormond St Hosp and every time I walk past I see a handful of parents and poorly kids. Does make you count your blessings.

Uni - Kiah does that on the loo, esp when I'm trying to cook.

Well, Tilly wet the bed last night (blame DP as he did bedtime whilst I went to circuit training - bet he forgot last wee)at 2.30am. Right through the mattress and on to the carpet! Showered her off and she came in with me....DP in spare room...then us girls joined by Kiah half an hour later...shattered this morning!! Must put the wee-sheet back on her bed...

Having my second chinese acupressure massage later...had no headache yesterday for first time in a month. Am feeling less like I have a brain tumour.

OP posts:
UniS · 24/09/2008 21:08

urg for wet beds LL. get that wee sheet back on. I've just turned the outer liner from boys old cot mattress into two more wee sheets. He had a wet bed twice in 3 days last week, seems to have got it under control again now.

Hug for caddy.

We had a day out today- went to Big Sheep again - on a freebie deal from DHs work. Boy really liked the tractor ride and little diggers in sand pit, I had a ride on the chair-o-plane, all watched sheep shearing, did tractor trailer ride, lamb feeding, sheep and goat petting, little train and soft play. a good day out as a family. Boy was full of it at tea time, telling us about what he had done and what the "man" did at various times. the tractor man, sheep shearing man etc .

Cadmum · 25/09/2008 16:31

Everything went fabulously well for DD2. She was an angel the entire time we were at the hospital. The nursed on the ward and the anesthesiologist could not believe how cooperative and compliant she was. We got a big wave and smiles as we handed her to the OR staff. She even loved being wheeled down the hall in the big cot.

With the exception of one nurse who thought I needed a lecture about dental hygiene, the staff were all professional and compassionate with the worried parents and patient alike.

DD2's teeth don't look particularly great but they must feel much better as she has not stopped eating since we arrived home yesterday evening.

I am so relieved that it is over. I am now so tired that I could sleep for a week

laundrylover · 25/09/2008 22:23

Caddy - hope you're tucked up in bed now...DD2 too.
