Hi Ya all

trying to catch up on the brand new thread. A lot going on.

Tasha- are you just feeling overwhelmed by dc's???
You need a break? can you get a coffee/night out with some friends.

james- sorry to hear about your F, what a shock. will it go to court? I'd like to disown a certain member of my own family, but other family members feel sorry for him.

kinki- hope you are well now.

lizzie - hope the wrists better. i think we all agree when both or more dc's are crying, we want to cry too.

LL hasn't been sleeping too good lately, screaming and rolling around in the middle of the night- fun, fun. But he is such a smiler, he gets away with being grizzly sometimes

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 23/02/2008 14:48

Tasha are you ok? I don't think I have your new number. Look, there are plenty of organisations that can help you out, but for now perhaps the samaritans would be a good idea as they can actually point you in the right direction and give you relevant helpline numbers as well as listen.

You can either call their general number or find a local branch to call. Not sure exactly where you are in Ireland so here is a list of all irish branches. You can probably ask them to call you back if you're short on credit on your phone.

Is something making your situation worse? have you had a row with your dp? I'm not sure what I can do to help but I really think you need to take some action today. There must be someone you can call to take the boys off your hand for two hours while you calm down.

I hope you're ok!

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 23/02/2008 14:50

Here are the general numbers for the samaritans. UK: 08457 90 90 90 /ROI: 1850 60 90 90

Don't be embarassed about calling, I've called in the past, they just let you get it all off your chest and don't judge.

im ok james, a bit tierd after my solo marathon last night dont know what i was trying to do. phoned doc (out of hours) which i made a complete ass outa myself as couldnt talk. dp spoke to him for me and he said that id get refered for councelling? and back on ads. but nothing can do now. my number is still the same james i just took my sim outa other phone and put into a different one. thanks everyone, im sorry for being a pain. xx

leifmum · 23/02/2008 21:45

tasha and james - big hugs to both of you. you're both dealing with all sorts of stuff i couldn't even imagine how difficult it all is. i hope you're both ok. tasha you're not a pain. we all just wish we could help.

life chez leif has been fairly peaceful. dd still waking up too early for my liking but i know i shouldn't moan! have started packing up ready for our move so living amongst cardboard boxes. really hope we move soon because i hate being amidst chaos!!!! did another day at work yesterday. still no news on part time........

james - bfp/bfn? feel very envious when i see pregnant bumps, loved feeling dd wriggling inside me. not ready again just yet but like you if it happened wouldn't be a bad thing.

got to go, dd crying

GillL · 23/02/2008 22:40

tasha - hope you're ok. Definitely call someone to talk it through. It could be ages before you get a counsellor through the gp.

Bought ds some 9-12 months vests in ASDA yesterday. I went to put one on him this morning only to find they were the same size as the 6-9 vests he is currently wearing - if not smaller. I took them back today and opened a 12-18 months pack and there was very little difference in them too. If they were a millimetre bigger then that was all. I found a 12-18 pack with a different pattern and they seemed to be 1-2 inches longer. Why can't they just make the clothes a standard size???????

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 23/02/2008 23:16

Glad you're ok tasha. I am too, considering. We got out for a couple of hours tonight to a friends which was nice but J did the smelliest turd in the world while we were there, and obviously dp and I are immune to the smell as we didn't flinch but my friend asked if she could put the bagged nappy in the bin outside as it was so evil!

Managed to get some really built up housework done upstairs today (with help from dp!) so I'll be going to bed in a lovely neat tidy room tonight which is always nice!

Gill I know what you mean about clothing sizes, I always buy sleeveless vests for him now as he hates having his pudgy arms yanked through tight sleeves. Just bought him some gorgeous old fashioned flanelette pyjamas off ebay, they're pale blue with little clouds and dinky little planes all over them. Cute!

Lost my rag with him this morning. He always without fail wakes up for his bottle at 7am ish and then goes back to sleep for anything from 30 min to 2 hours which I probably rely on too much, as last night I was up tidying til almost 2.30am, and this morning J wakes early for his bottle and just won't go back to sleep.

I tried everything, but nothing worked and I ended up shouting at him "I'm not taking you downstairs yet so go back to fecking sleeeep!" I should have been having a go at dp. He lies there pretending to be asleep- the thought would never enter his head to take baby off me and deal with him, ever, and of course the weekend is his time off- when exactly do I get time off from being on duty?

Anyway, I am drowning my sorrows in asda smartprice chocs which were reduced to 49p a box, and aren't actually that bad! (Because I'm Worth It)

clothes seem to vary allot. i find primarks clothes are huge on all ds's. lo was thinking he was great today i hold his hands and say stand up and he does with the biggest proudest smile. i say sit down and he does lol. hes started drinking 5oz!!!yay. hopefully he will be heavier on wed.
o and hes getting so good at belly crawling its soooo funny cause hes still really tiny.
james i think we all do it time to time. think ill raid the cupboards in a sec. im near sure i left an oversized pack of m&ms
gill- ive emailed samaritans so hopefully that will help.
leifmum- have you not got any dates yet? it must be really hard living amongst boxes with lo.
dp is out tonight the house is so quiet all ds's fast asleep

tasha22 · 24/02/2008 00:04

dp just came in really drunk. ive never seen him like this. he said im really sorry tash im really sorry then fell asleep by the toilet??

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 24/02/2008 00:06

Aaw it must be the cutest thing when your lo tries to crawl tasha! he's so diddy!

I haven't tested yet, I don't think it's an issue as I'm normally a bit all over the place with my cycle anyway and we've not been up to much! If no sign by next weekend I'll think about it.

Some latest pics of James. Getting stuck into a bagel, chomping on a pear, munching on his favourite thing... cheese.

WAHAAAY! and shhhh, fast asleep.

I just bought him some cheesestrings. I hope there's nothing bad in them, as I thought they'd be good for blw.

Hi ladies, flying visit. Can't stop long as I'm still Queen Squitty of Squitsville.

But I've just read the recent posts and wanted to send hugs to James and Tasha. What a crappy few days you guys have had. I know I haven't known you for long, but just wanted to add my support.

Hopefully catch up more in a day or two.

My2Weegirls · 24/02/2008 20:13

hi everyone - flying visit from me too (though i am not queen kinki squitty of squitsville )

tasha - how are you doing? have you still got your appointment on tuesday? and write down everything that you want to say to GP so that if you do breakdown a bit you can just hand it over (i used to work in a GP surgery and it's surprising the number of people that do this) what a life you've had in your 22 years. always remember you are doing a great job with your 3 gorgeous boys.

james - sorry to hear about your news, are the police involved? make sure, as someon else said, that you, james and dp are ok. james is a real cheeky looking boy!

i give up with clothes for mine - dd1 (3.1) is in age 5 clothes from some shops and age 2 from others. dd2 is in 9-12 month clothes and some 12-18month stuff too.

DD2 is absolutely choked with the cold again, hardly taking any milk,no solids for the past 3 days. i think more teeth are on the way, her eye teeth at the top are very very white. which if they do come through then she'll look like a baby vampire as no other top teeth are through yet.

tasha22 · 24/02/2008 23:52

im doing ok thanks my2weegirls + kinki. yes i have still got my appointment on tuesday although im expecting miracles!lol. ill do that my2weegirls. ive been emailing samaritans so its making it easier to talk about and starting to talk in more detail on the other thred. i will get through this, i will get through this!
james is so cute, great pics! hope your ok hun, or as ok as can be expected?
ill have to get a video of lo on so you can all see how tiny he is but still like a 6month old.
well im off to bed.xx

lizziemun · 25/02/2008 07:07

Tasha

I took Lizzie to one of those soft play centres when Lexie was 19wks old and there was a little boy walking around when his mum asked me how old lexie was because he was about an inch taller then her and a year old .

Any on a lighter note i asked DH to bath Lizzie bathed and ready for bed last night a simple task one would think.

Anyway Lizzie came downstairs wearing Lexie 6 - 9mths PJ's . Now I know she is a skinny runt but surely he realised that they were to small .

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 25/02/2008 10:45

Morning folks!

lol @ queen squitty kinki!oh you poor thing, hope you're better soon! (TMI alert- don't take immodium to try and staunch it, my dp says he did that once after a bout of food poisoning and he didn't poo for five days, then on the 6th day he passed a yule log) muahahaha!!

I'm ok, thanks, I don't want to clutter up this thread with that problem anymore, I'm getting advice and I have an appointment with the doctor myself tomorrow so I might see what she says. Tasha, hope you're ok chuck.

We got lo a babywalker last night. He can't move it much yet, but the tray is so handy for blw! this morning he is having a feast of tangerine, pear and rusk on there. He's such a piglet he shoves handfuls in at a time when his mouth is already full and makes himself retch.

The cheesestrings do not work for blw by the way, they're so rubbery none was coming off at all. Eggy bread is becoming a fast favourite here, I make little fingers of it and use them to dip in tomato based babyfood. Then I stand back and let him get on with it. I'm getting quite good at unblocking nostrils clogged with food!

He's getting slowly more proficient with a sippy cup now (strangely manages to drink more enthusiastically and neatly when there's baby juice in there rather than water)

The babysigning thing is interesting, I fancy giving it a go, just to learn one or two of the more commonly used signs would be good as he's now started screeching and often I have no idea what he wants. Perhaps "milk" "dummy" "tired" and "mummy" would be helpful.

Oh, and maybe "I've shat up to my neck and you haven't smelt it yet"

james - have you tasted the cheese strings - they are horrible! dd1 loves cheese but refuses to eat them.

i'd like a sign for 'teeth' as well.

i've just booked for dd1 and i to go on this "going onthomas"

dd2 is still not a happy baby - she's still choked, cries then makes herself sick with crying -the joys. i feel like a zombie - thanfully dd1 is away to childminders so i don't need to entertain her too.

tasha22 · 25/02/2008 13:08

that looks really good my2weegirls ds1 would love that. where is it?
cheese strings are very rubbery my 2 dont seem to mind them but they can tear them apart with their teeth. i dont like them myself but they are handy
my 2 are recking my house, today ive already had to fix blinds, horse, toilet seat and there are crumbs from scones everywhere! i need a cleaner

tasha22 · 25/02/2008 13:11

just peeped in on them and they have broke door off wooden toy washing machine. santas not going to bother any more.

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 25/02/2008 13:20

Tasha my carpets are getting ruined as I still don't have a fully functioning hoover. I do sweep but not as often as it needs it to be honest (blw is taxing on your soft furnishings even if you put something down to catch the debris) Right now there's a light scattering of toast crumbs, rusk, and I even spy tiny morsels of rejected fruit and cheese that I missed hiding in the shadows under the sofa.

Was half hoping our resident family of night visiting slugs who appear to live behind the TV might come out and clear away for me, but no. I need a dog or something.

...or maybe even a new hoover.

OP posts:
tasha22 · 25/02/2008 13:27

lol james theres no point in having a hoover as the clean carpet lasts for minutes. i do my house at night and nobody sees it at its lovely child free tidy state. any chance you could send me some of them slugs they mmight prefere lollys stuck to carpet

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 25/02/2008 13:33

No the slugs are all mine! Hoping to train them into eating whole peas etc Got a few woodlice I could spare though.

Oh, it's going to be so much fun in chez banana when lo starts crawling and comes face to tentacle with all the creepycrawlies lurking about. He'll probably see them as a snack. Ugh I've just given myself the heebyjeebies! lol

OP posts:
My2Weegirls · 25/02/2008 13:38

tasha - it's in a village called bo'ness, about 5 min down the road from me. they seem to do tours of the UK though, so there mught be one near you.

james - my delightful dd1 loves creepy crawlies 'look mum there's a cute spidey' as she points at it then squishes it. fortunately she's never (to my knowledge) managed to eat any when she was smaller.

however, she has taken to sweeping the floors for me but unfortunately she lifts up the corner of the rug and sweeps all the crap underneath it!

tasha22 · 25/02/2008 13:49

lol james. anybody ever done the emergency sweep?

EMERGENCY SWEEP: 'phone rings'
'hello'
'ill be down in 5min put the kettle on'
emergency sweep begins. everything sweeped under sofa, tv unit or kitchen appliances. sink filled with extremely soapy water to hide any dishes. while doing all of this run round the house with airfreshner in one hand and polish in another squirting into air. finish off with throwing bleach around bathroom and having sponge sitting so incase visitor needs loo it looks like you were in the middle of tackling it. make cuppa be sitting looking very relaxed as visitor walks through door they are instantly hit up the face with an overwhelming smell of polish, bleach and airfreshner!!!

my2weegirls ill have to look that up

My2Weegirls · 25/02/2008 14:05

must remember that!
