Evening all

What an absolute waste of time seeing the the "careers advisor" today. He didn't tell me anything I didn't already know, and couldn't tell me anything about any possible grants for further education, just told me to look on some websites. He did give his mobile number and told me I could ring him day or night with any queries I might have
And J had a little accident there as well But they were lovely about it

But I have got an interview on Friday as an accounts assistant.

Actually managed to speak to my neighbours today They've called her Seirian Fleur (fleur is meant to spelt the welsh way, but I don't know how) Think its one of the quickest first labours I've heard of. She had a show at 9am, and a bit of back pain throughout the day. Then at 3.15pm she said everything changed and contractions went to 3mins apart called the mw who basically told them not to worry, its prob not real labour, and wouldn't be able to come out for another hour or so By the time they got to hospital, her waters had broken in the car, and she was fully dilated - dd was born at 5.15pm

runnyhabbit · 19/02/2008 20:58

meant to say that her contractions started at 3015pm, and went straight to 3mins apart - 2 hours

runnyhabbit · 19/02/2008 20:59

oh arse - 3.15pm

you knew what I meant though

elkiedee · 19/02/2008 21:10

Runny's baby news - Wow at 2 hours - hope everything goes well for her.

The baby group was fun, and I was relieved to find that nearly all the kids were under 1s, just a few over and one two year old whose mum is one of the group organisers. I heard about the group because she comes to the local coffee mornings here - as the host is a friend with a son the same age.

I'd resigned myself to D being up for ages, he was very animated and into everything. Then I put him into the cot because I needed to do something, and he went zonk. After a few minutes he woke and wailed, but went back to sleep on my lap. I don't quite believe it, am waiting for the wails.

DP should have finished work a few minutes ago, hope his bus comes quickly.

Sexonlegs · 19/02/2008 21:18

Wow Runny tht is quick indeed.

Elkie, hope D gives you a good night tonight.

I am feelng really stressed. I have done it again - agreed to go away for the weekend (from Thursday) and now don't want to go. We (dh and B are gong ski-ing) and K and I are supposed to be going to. I just cannot be arsed. She is not 100% and I just feel it is such a long way for such a short time. I am angry with myself and I know lots of you are probably thinking stupid ungrateful bitch (cos I am).

oooggs · 19/02/2008 21:19

where are you going sol?

Sexonlegs · 19/02/2008 21:23

Slovenia. It is a beautiful place, but there is no microwave, no washing machine, no cot, no highchair, the girls will have to share a room. All minor things I know, but I like my home comforts!

oooggs · 19/02/2008 21:24

oh dear - but things like a cot & a highchair do make things easier

geordiemacminx · 19/02/2008 21:26

Liverpool just scored... Whoooooooo hooooooooooooo I will get sex spoken to tonight

Sexonlegs · 19/02/2008 21:30

They also don't do kettles there, so means boiling pans of water.

I know these are such minor things, but it just makes things hard work.

I also know dh will spend all his time with K as he is really keen to get her ski-ing and I will be stuck with K the whole time.

God I am sounding such a whingy, ungrateful cow.

Going to sign off and get a grip.

Night all. x

elkiedee · 19/02/2008 21:30

gmm, I hope I should be pleased for you but... does that mean you wouldn't get sex/conversation if the result went the other way? Tell me to mind my own business if you like!

Sexonlegs · 19/02/2008 21:31

All his time with B is what I meant. Talk about ski-ing before you can walk.....

geordiemacminx · 19/02/2008 21:31

They've just scored again.. whooohooooooo

No, if they had lost I wouldnt have stood a chance - he would have been in a foul mood - probably have kicked the dog - if we had one

elkiedee · 19/02/2008 21:46

SOL, that's not so minor. We ended up going to a great deal of trouble to buy a kettle in Anchorage (Americans don't do really kettles, they kept offering dp coffee makers) which we kept with us for the holiday although we left it behind in our final destination (San Francisco). And I couldn't have done without a cot and that was just with one baby.

Going on holiday should be for all of you, not just your DH and older daughter. I take it you mean that he's keen to get B ski-ing?

StealthPolarBear · 19/02/2008 21:55

I'd be feeling exactly the same, I can only cope with this baby business as long as I have everything under control and all my home comforts to make life easier!

PillockOfTheCommunity · 19/02/2008 22:41

been at another meeting, village association this time!

we went out for the afternoon, had a lovely time. (with a friend of mine). I know he likes me and I didn't think I thought of him in that way, there's no spark as it were, but I am finding myself enjoying spending time with him and even hugged him voluntarily

Oooooh, POTC glady ou had a nice pm

Totally understnad SOL - I am a right old stress bag when it comes to attempting anything "out of the ordinary" - not very adventurous me! Go for it, you'll have a lovely time and you will be sooo cross if you don't do it!!

I am knackered so just popping in - Night all.

CaptainDippy · 19/02/2008 23:50

Ooooh, before I pop off to bed - I meant to say Luce - I noticed you said DD2's Birthday was on Monday - do you mean the 25th!!? Cos that is my DD1's Birthday too - Awwww!
