hey runny - I think J is doing fantastically - hope dts do that well that quickly

elkiedee · 27/02/2008 20:53

MJ, that's really crap for you. What childcare is F in, I'm sorry I can't remember, but could you claim that whoever looks after her normally is sick so can't do it? Or is it a nursery.

If you really feel that you can't lie to take a day off, I'm sorry. The video sounds like a good idea, and also telling him a version of what you've told us, that you love him very much, that you tried everything you could but that the meanie that is your manager wouldn't let you take the time off, and that you're upset about not being able to go as well.

StealthPolarBear · 27/02/2008 21:25

oh mammyjo Is there absolutely no-one else at work who could swap? That's so horrible of your boss.
(I have a feeling I know what you do...and I thought your employers were big on work/life balance )

cazboldy · 27/02/2008 21:28

Oh Mammyjo - I really feel for you

Ooogs - yay for your dad

Well done J and runny

AngeG · 27/02/2008 22:36

Hello

Mammyjo - I'm so and on your behalf. Is there any way you can throw a sickie? Video does sound like a good idea though.

Oooggs - Hooray for your Dad

Dooby good luck for M's appointment. Hope it goes ok.

SPB - Hope T settles tonight.

Hello everyone else

It's my birthday tomorrow

NorthernLurker · 27/02/2008 22:57

Oooooooh Happy Birthday Ange for 1 hour and 4 minutes time!

I would stay up - but I tried that last night and look what happened....an earthquake!

AngeG · 27/02/2008 23:00

Thanks NL. Don't think I'm staying up either!!

elkiedee · 27/02/2008 23:12

Happy birthday for tomorrow Ange

Maveta · 28/02/2008 05:51

oh mammyjo I'm sorry to hear about your work, that is very mean of them.

Dippy this is ancient news now, but what a beautiful cake! A Masterpiece! sorry I kept forgetting to mention before.

And of course CONGRATS to Hensden!

[brain like sieve]

IDOC I make a pasta a butternut squash thing like that and then stir in a square of soft cheese to make it all creamy. N loves it. Top Tip: You don't even have to chop or peel the squash, whack it in the oven just as it is for about 40mins-1hr and when it comes out, slice it open and scoop out all the insides. Then roughly chop or mash and you can freeze this in cubes as a pasta/rice sauce etc etc

Really glad your dad stood up for you Oooggs - what did your bro say to him though?

Ange - Happy Birthday for tomorrow!

Phew! think that's it

Oh one more thing I just read in a book that although the official research suggests that 85% of babies 'sleep through' at 6 months, what they don't tell you is that by 'sleep through' they mean sleep 5 hours from 12am-5am or thereabouts. Hope that provides some consolation to others out there suffering with interuppted nights.

Maveta · 28/02/2008 05:54

Aaargh! Ange HAPPY BIRTHDAY FOR TODAY [doh]

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANGE

SLightly better night, makes me hopeful that it is just caused by the cold. Raised his cot (thanks - SOL?) and Karvol both seemed to help. How was your night maveta?

Eddas, I did actually only ask a few days ago Wanted to keep my options open for as long as possible, and organise nursery etc

What's everyone got planned for today?

Sexonlegs · 28/02/2008 07:51

Morning all.

SPB, huge apologies for not congratulating you earlier on the flexi hours application being accepted.

Ange, Happy Birthday - card is in the post

Maveta, that squash recipe sounds yummy too.

Eddas, enjoy your no-day work.

IDOC/MJ, hope your girlies are better.

Brain now emptied.

All ok here. K not able to go to nursery still so dh and I sharing her so I can get in to work this morning.

Better head. See you lovelies later. Hope you are all ok. xx

Eddas · 28/02/2008 08:18

Hi sol

SPB, glad last night was better. Last time I raised ds' cot I think I went a bit too raised and he ended up in a ball at the end of the cot

Todays mission is to sort yet more of my crap unwanted things and try to get them out of the house I haven't forgotten to email with girls clothes first before ebaying them

oh and have found 3/4 pairs of 6-12month tights if anyone wants them? Let me know and i'll post them to one of you

Maveta · 28/02/2008 08:38

morning morning

SPB - my night was fine actually. he woke at 10.30pm, 1.15am and 5.30am but fed and back to sleep (until the last one - v. early start today) so not a problem. Glad T seems to be getting a bit better.

At work today but it's all foggy and grey outside and makes me even less inclined to do anything

Only 11 more part time days til April (and full time work!)!! Can't believe our babies are going to be 1 before we know it!

StealthPolarBear · 28/02/2008 08:54

It's bright and sunny here in the UK Maveta
I know what you mean - who took away our babies and replaced them with small children?
