Oooops no room to link to old thread!

Lol at AQ forgetting that she is pg Sure the madness will pass. And don't worry about my chocolate supply, I live round the corner from Tesco

Jabber I think you should pop ds in the post and I'll sned him on holiday with all my clibing friends, they do similarly dangerous stunts on a larger scale. He'd have a ball

Thanks Margo. It would be lovely to have some help sometimes!

Indith - the Tibetan Rucksack looks great. I dont think I would use it, tbh, as DD likes to be up one minute, then down, and would probably be very fresutrated being stuck to me. She is going through a bit of a "I want to walk everywhere" phase at the moment too.

FunkyGlassSocks · 16/04/2008 18:22

Wanted : advice

Indith · 16/04/2008 19:40

Sorry FGS, not advice to give. Though if it helps any I was still wetting myself at school and I turned out normal**The author's definition of normal may be different to yours.

Oh and erm, maybe Christmas Eve is a good time to have a baby after all

OP posts:
FunkyGlassSlipper · 16/04/2008 19:46

Does that mean what I think it does???

I think I am tired and stressed myself which is why I'm getting so wound up by DD. Another day and I wouldnt let it bother me.

Indith · 16/04/2008 19:49

Yup

You go have yourself a nice bath and relax.

FunkyGlassSlipper · 16/04/2008 19:51

Congratulations!

DH is putting DD1 to bed at the moment. I am on MN but need to scour the house for chocolate ;)

Indith · 16/04/2008 19:56

Sounds like a plan I'm on the jelly babies personally

jabberwocky · 16/04/2008 20:05

OMG! Congrats Indith!!

FGS, have no idea how to help you as we are still working with ds1 a year after he started his regression

FunkyGlassSlipper · 16/04/2008 20:09

Jabber - I think your DS and my DD would get on very well

Olihan · 16/04/2008 20:12

Oh Wow, congratulations Indith! Two Christmas-time babies are fab . Don't abandon us for the Dec 08 lot, will you? It's a good job you've nearly finished your degree, otherwise you'd never get any work done .

Hello everyone else. Laptop is finally going again, will catch up properly once I've tackled my ironing mountain pile! see you all later.........

Indith · 16/04/2008 20:17

Oli! Good to see you! How is the sleep? Still going ok?

Now why would I abandon you lot huh? Who else will pat me on the head when I get all PFB mumsy?

Have posted on the '08 thread though, couldn't help it, think yourselves lucky, I can restrict all pg moaning to them.

But bloody hell I am so bloated and farting like a trouper

OP posts:
jabberwocky · 16/04/2008 20:32

Oh, yes, the farting...

Here's something I've always been a bit embarrassed to ask. With both ds1 and ds2 I seem to have much more wind than usual while bfing. Anyone else experience this?

Oh, and my nephew and his wife had their baby in the wee hours of Monday morning. It's a beautiful baby boy. She had a forceps delivery with a 3rd degree tear I can't even imagine the pain - OUCH!

Indith · 16/04/2008 20:40

Ouch! But congrats to them and to great aunty Jabber (does that make you feel old?)

Sure farting is hormonal, I always fart more at certain times of the month so feeding could have something to do with it.

accessorizequeen · 16/04/2008 21:57

Yay indith, congrats!!!! So pleased for you
I haven't deserted you lot (in fact I find the due oct thread pretty boring as I have no real desire to analyse my pg to death) so I'm sure you won't.
welcome back, oli!

babypowder · 16/04/2008 22:18

Indith! Congratulations!

I really need to catch up with you all. Work is taking up far too much of my time Had an interview for another job today, so we'll see how that goes.

Will catch up properly tomorrow.

babypowder · 16/04/2008 22:21

DH has just come upstairs. I announced 'Indith's pregnant! That's 3 of the group now!'

He just looked at me blankly.

He just doesn't get it

FunkyGlassSlipper · 17/04/2008 08:46

@ BP and her conversation with DH.

DH is back to work. We're off to DD1 swim lesson in a bit. I'll be glad when pre-school resumes next week and we can get some normality back into things.

Babysteps Day 9 - Decluttering

Indith · 17/04/2008 09:06

Lol BP Good luck for the interview

I just put ds back to bed . Looked away for 5 mins and found him curled up with dou dou half asleep! He got up at 7.20 so not like he has been up for hours! Bless him he is a teething bear of small appetite at the moment.

I have a sling meet today so my question of the day is is this sun going to last or will it do exactly what it did on Monday and Tuesday and fool me into thinking it will before raining on me?

to sling or to pushchair, that is the question.

OP posts:
babypowder · 17/04/2008 09:44

OK, all you sling users, if you were buying a new sling, which one would it be? I carry DD2 in an old mothercare rucksack, but the tibetan rucksack looks so comfy and cosy, I'd quite like to try it (without spending a fortune!)

Bearing in mind, of course, that I'm well under 5' and quite slight to boot. (Not a stick insect or anything, just tiny and small)

Indith · 17/04/2008 09:58

I would buy either a MT style carrier like this one or a wrap. Because you are small you could easily get away with a short wrap for a rucksack. I would see if you can find a group near you or here to try out some slings or hire them to try from somewhere like big mama slings as MT do vary a bit, some brands are better for wider people, others for smaller and not everone likes them. Most people fall in love with wraps but they take some practice so a group is great as they will show you how to use them.

OP posts:
accessorizequeen · 17/04/2008 11:35

Definitely hire, bp, I hired an MT recently and it was useful as i'm not near any slingmeets. I wish I had hired my ergo first as I prob. wouldn't have bought it! Also UK babywearing swap on yahoo is good for cheap slings. If you look in products, there is thread at the mo about the ergo & slings for petite women which might be helpful. Pity you're not near me or I'd loan you the ergo & hip seat to try out.
margo, you are def.not wimp for giving up with your active carrier, I found it impossible after 3 months!!
How're you feeling this morning, indith, is dp over the moon too? What will your mum say about the dress?!

babypowder · 17/04/2008 12:48

Just back from physio. I think I actually mean a wrap, rather than a sling. One of those big long pieces of fabric that you can knot and tie in different positions. Do I mean a wrap?

I have checked out slingmeets, none near me unfortunately. I do enjoy using the framed rucksack, but it can be a bit bulky, and I like the idea of having DD2 right against my back as I think the weight would be better distributed.

My physio is appalled that I wear DD2, BTW I would have thought that it was better than constantly lifting her up and down.

And I'm a bit [sngry] with my last physio, as she said that my abs had come back together, and they are still more than 3 fingerwidths apart. So the exercises I've been doing have done more harm than good. No wonder I'm a cripple

Indith, I refer you again to mad-Ulrika's wedding dress You must be so, so pleased.

FGS, glad to hear that you are healing. Don't overdo it though.

That goes for all of you pg ones as well.

babypowder · 17/04/2008 12:48

What a great word, sngry. I may use it.

accessorizequeen · 17/04/2008 14:21

I like snagry too
3 widths apart, gosh that's a lot isn't it? And I def.think it's the picking up that does it, I've been hurting myself quite a lot lately (as ligaments are softening now) just lifting ds2. Wrap is what you want - I think Indith also has an Ellaroo wrap, don't you? They're v.popular and pretty! There are cheaper alternatives to storchies, I believe. Indith, you need to come demonstrate to me when we meet in June! I can't use ergo or hip seat as I'm pg so wrap would be good. cwtshi sling great but looked hard to do a back carry.
