HollyPutTheKettleOn · 15/02/2008 19:50

Bahhh...Just seen this. Spring '09! That's over a year away. I thought it was all happening soon. Guess I'll have to go to Croydon!

foxythesnowman · 15/02/2008 19:59

What about Annobals junior bed?

foxythesnowman · 15/02/2008 19:59

but ooh-ooh if you go to Croydon can I come too??

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 15/02/2008 20:04

OOH-OOH...certainly! Dp is off for a week in march, so will prob go then. He can trot off to the warehouse to do heavy lifting and we can have coffee!!

Is annobal selling a bed?

foxythesnowman · 15/02/2008 20:06

21.53 last night. Junior bed and matress. For free.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 15/02/2008 20:09

OOOOO annobal are you there? Memememe I neeeeeed a bed for dd! She is still in a cot !

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 15/02/2008 20:09

Thanks for that foxy, I bet she's sold it now! I shall be proactive and email her!

foxythesnowman · 15/02/2008 20:12

I can text her if you like

foxythesnowman · 15/02/2008 20:12

I just squirted saline drops into DD2s eye by accident - meant to get her nose. Is that a problem? She is howling.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 15/02/2008 20:18

Thanks foxy, I've just emailed her, I'll text her tomorrow if she doesn't reply. I think I've got her number.

She'll be fine, it was probably a bit of a shock! I squirt saline in my eyes all the time, it's what contact lenses solution is, I'm not (very) blind yet!

foxythesnowman · 15/02/2008 20:29

DD2's not happy. I think she is bunged up, cranky, gunky eyes Its not like her to be miserable.

Pumpkinhead · 15/02/2008 20:42

Hi again.

Sputnik - I know that feeling of boobs being fit to burst - it's horrible! And we have a door bouncer, but it's a real PITA to get him in it (cheap!). Plus, we have no door frames downstairs so can only use it upstairs. But I might have to investigate the Baby Einstein stuff. Good tip!

Holly - thanks for that link. I think I will just stick with what I'm doing now and perhaps only try and reduce the night feeds so I can get some more sleep. Sorry to hear that you are having a hard time right now. Sounds like you are doing a great job though. Hope you get a bit of a rest this weekend.

Well after a couple of glasses of wine I've forgotten what a hard day its been. Clever eh?! Gonna go and eat chocolate mousse now. I will endeavour to be back over the weekend and see how everyone else is. Hope you all get a good sleep. x

Sputnik · 15/02/2008 20:50

Have a good mousse PH, I'm off to socialise (well, watch DVDs) with my DH.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 15/02/2008 20:53

Kellymom is great pumpkinhead, anything you could ever need to know about bfing you will find on there!

Hope foxy jr is ok. Poor litle thing.

No rest for the wicked, dp will be home with the boys in a bit. Oh joy!

Sputnik · 15/02/2008 20:58

Oi Holly!
Hope you have some pinot handy

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 15/02/2008 21:00

I have just phoned dp to bring me some home! I shall need it!!

foxythesnowman · 15/02/2008 21:02

Good luck with the boys Holly!

I'm off, going to catch up with Masterchef and look after my sickly child. Could be a looooooooooooong night.

xx

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 15/02/2008 21:04

Hope she is ok foxy, hope you have a good night!

I'm off too, dp shall be home in a sec with my wine. I think I might shut myself in the bathroom with the bottle and a straw!!

Night xx

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 15/02/2008 21:49

Evening all,

Holly, you sound like you are having a really rough time. I know what you mean by not having 5 minutes to yourself. At least I don't sleep with DD, and she's not mobile, but like Norty she is going through a miserable stage, doesn't like to be left alone. You are doing a great job though Holly. Can't believe DS is such a monkey !

Hi everyone else! How's the exercising sputnik? Foxy, hope DD is better, I'm sure the saline will only have done her eyes good

Pumpkinhead, do whatever you think is right and make sure you get a break.

milkyJammy · 15/02/2008 22:16

Evening. Friends round for dinner tonight, which was lovely. AND they've offered to babysit. Woohoo!

Off out for lunch for DH's birthday tomorrow, but the restaurant doesn't have high chairs or room for push chairs, so I think we're popping out tomorrow morning to buy a booster seat, otherwise I'll have to have her sitting on my lap throughout, which will be a real pain. It's a lovely restaurant though (we've been loads of times in the past), and the food is so yummy, and the staff so helpful, so hoping for a fab lunch.

Off to bed now though, so sweet dreams everyone.

foxythesnowman · 16/02/2008 14:16

Isn't anyone else wasting their weekend on MN then?

milkyJammy · 16/02/2008 15:38

Hi Foxy. I've been out most of the morning and pver lunch but home now. Tummy all full of bread & olives, prawns & chorizo, salmon, dauphinoise potatos, sticky toffee pudding with toffee sauce and clotted cream, and coffe & homemade fudge. Absolutely yummy!

How are you and the cubs?

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 17/02/2008 10:13

Every time I log in there's no-one around

just a quick catch up from me then.

pumpkin, my DD still feeds between four and eight times a day, inspite of being on (usually) three meals plus snacks. If I give her less solids, she tends to sneak in another BF or feeds longer so it's swings and roundabouts. Your HV would appear to be talking out of her....... Actually I think that although some HVs are good on BFing in the early days, the fact that most babies are on bottles by this age their knowledge does tend to fizzle out a bit [diplomacy emoticon]. is there anyone else you can talk to about it?

holly, sorry you're finding it a bit difficult at the moment. DD is into everything as well, but at least I get a bit of a break when DS is at school.

DH and I also resumed realtions in a very nice way on Thursday, but am now shitting myself as we didn't use any protection......I thought it was OK as my cycle has been six weeks since DD was about 9 weekls old and I'm only two weeks in......but, not too sure but I think I'm ovulating NOW. We discussed the MAP, but have decided not to bother (DH shitting himself much less than me strangely enough ). Anyhoo, sorry if TMI, but....watch this space......

fury, sounds like you've got a right little guzzler there. Don't know what to suggest, but if he is reasonably mobile and awake a lot at nursery, he might just be needing more calories as he's burning up lots?

sputnik, am v jealous of your exercising; I haven't started my training yet...and my weight seems to be going up, not down

hey to everyone else....I might get on later for some chat.

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 17/02/2008 10:15

forgot to say, we were out for a family day in the park yesterday, and DS fell in the Partially frozen lake when we were feeding the ducks. Thankfully it wasn't deep, but he went in backwards and was nearly over his head. I've wrenched my shoulder pulling him out, and DH has put his back out carrying him, wrapped in our jumpers and coats back to the car (about a mile) with DD in the baby backpack!

One for the Boo family archive!

milkyJammy · 17/02/2008 10:40

I know what you mean about no one being around Daisy. I guess as LOs need active attention, rather than simply holding, feeding, gazing at adoringly, MN time becomes more difficult. But good to know that people are getting RLs again.

Lake incident sounds scary - no harm done I hope? And fingers crossed re potential ovulation etc [gulp]

What I didn't say about our lunch out yesterday was that the jamlet was SO well behaved throughout [proud mummy]. She sat in her booster seat (but we couldn't strap her in properly as the straps weren't big enough, despite it saying it was suitable for 6m - 4yrs ) and ate whatever we passed to her basically. She had some bread, some potato and salmon. Then we let her have tiny tastes of icecream and sticky toffee pudding. And she had her own fromage frais and breadstick that we brought with us. Everyone said how good she was and how cute she was, and the waitress said it was lovely to see a baby eat proper adult food. The family next to us didn't look impressed when they were given a table next to a baby, but as we left they commented on how good she had been.
