OK I have read about Gluten intolerance, wheat allergy and wheat intolerance on the Daily Mail site.
TBH I don't think I am actually any of them. I just think I seem to function a bit better without it (bread), and it's helping me lose weight, so I'll just stick with that!

milkyJammy · 12/02/2008 20:22

Yeah, i just meant that if cutting out bread makes you feel good, then great, because if it's only bread you cut out then it's not that much of a limit on your diet and if you're stuck for something to eat while you're out and about, or if you do really fancy that garlic bread occasionally then you can always have it. But if you did want to extend it to cutting out anything with wheat in to see if you felt even better, then it might be tricky.

HellHathNoFury · 12/02/2008 20:27

too true.

How are you feeling today Jammy?

milkyJammy · 12/02/2008 20:33

Feeling a bit brighter thanks Fury, but still coughing and (nose) blowing plenty (much to DH's annoyance ). And left ear is still all bunged up, painful and deaf. Glad I didn't wait to start the ABs

milkyJammy · 12/02/2008 20:36

Went into work though. Didn't get any real work done until well after lunch though , it was all admin up until 2.15, which was a pain. Hopefully next week will be better though.

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 12/02/2008 22:20

Evening all. Can I have a drum roll please...

...DH and I did IT last night! Thank fuck for that! He's much less like a bear with a sore head now

Today we have been to London Zoo. We had a nightmare trying to get home, they shut the tube station we wanted at rush hour and there was a big crush. DD was brill though, she didn't whinge all day despite being carted around the tube stations. I think it helped that we bought a cheap buggy. Our quinny wouldn't fit in the car with all our stuff so we just though we'd invest in a stroller. We got this one in mothercare but it was reduced to £50 and we had a £20 gift card. Much better for carting round London (and fitting in the boot of our car. DH wants to cash the Quinny in, but I don't want to get rid of it yet, I love it! Ok, does that make me a hun? Or do you have to own at least 3 pushchairs?

Hi all anyway, jammy, glad you are feeling a bit better.

LardyMardyDaisy · 12/02/2008 22:33

hi bumper...you've been quiet for a ew days, but I take it you have been away!

Woo hoo for you and your poor deprived DH. I hope you enjoyed yourself

I looked at that stroller today in mothrcare. I've got a tiny mothercare stroller that I keep in the back of the car, but it's on its last legs. the modern equivalents though aren't as nice. Ideally I would like a really cheap 3 wheeler, but such a thing doesn't really exist....at least not that I've found.

hi jammy fury and mhc as well.

mhc, if you feel like another namechange, you could do much worse than SlingHun

jammy, glad you are feeling a bit better.

Went to the local NCT coffee morning today; it's only taken me 8 months to get motivated to go. I know a few of them from clinic and baby massage, so it was OK really; they seem like a really nice bunch and it was nice to get out of the house.

It is soooo odd without DS here; I was actaully feeling quite bored around teatime

Daisy, I think I forgot to say a big thank you for my package I love the knitting patterns and when I am feeling slightly more confident I will give them a go. You are a lovely lady, I don't think I say that often enough .

Gotta go to bed now. Yes, we are away at my mum's friend's (empty) house. It's lovely, but DD isn't sleeping very well. She was a star today though. A woman on the train commented on how well behaved she was [proud mummy - weep!].

LardyMardyDaisy · 12/02/2008 23:04

aw shucks

I hope you give some of the patterns a go; and you can call on me for advice if you get stuck with any of them...or join a knitting thread on here!

I hope you're feeling more positive about things this week lovely. you sound much perkier!

Off to be myself now too.

Looking forward to a quiet day tomorrow; it's been a bit chaotic and busy here for a few days!

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 13/02/2008 12:48

where is everybody???

milkyJammy · 13/02/2008 13:25

I don't know

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 13/02/2008 13:31

hey jammy

milkyJammy · 13/02/2008 13:53

Sorry, had to go hang nappies up and stuff.
How are you Daisy?
And anyone else hanging around?

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 13/02/2008 13:57

I'm all right. I'm a bit frustrated with MN this afternoon. I seem to have two public profiles, but the one showing at the minute isn't the one I want. (I lost my profile, had to set up another one and now I have two??)

I don't know which nickname the other one is saved under, and I can't get the profile mover thingy to work, it keeps bringing up this profile or else says can't fine profile.

too many nickname changes I think.

Think I might have to start again with it.

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 13/02/2008 13:59

and now I've got to change a stinky nappy and feed DD. She is very whingy today and keeps making a very plaintive high pitched moan. I think it might be her teeth, as she cried her way through lunch.

milkyJammy · 13/02/2008 14:03

Can't help with the names thing. Sorry about stinky nappy etc. Which reminds me - am I right in thinking that C's unusually productive rump is likely to be linked to my ABs?

milkyJammy · 13/02/2008 14:04

Back in a few mins, got to go put some bread on while C's asleep (having yet another go at afternoon naps in the cot)

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 13/02/2008 14:11

yes; babyboo had a horrible stinky bum when I was taking ABs.

watch out for thrush!

she didn't want to feed. she has been refusing me quite a bit recently; she makes out like she wants to feed, but then she doesn't. Strange baby!

milkyJammy · 13/02/2008 16:41

Well result for this afternoon! Despite C NOT sleeping in the cot after all, I have hung up nappies to dry, put another load of washing on, unloaded, reloaded and run the dishwasher, put the bread machine on, cleaned the kitchen worktops, taken a mountain of laundry upstairs and put C's stuff away (we'll have to do ours later), had an hour's snoozing on the sofa with C, AND prepared the meaty part of a cottage pie for tea

milkyJammy · 13/02/2008 16:43

(DH will do the mash part and assemble while I do some of my working-from-home stuff tonight)

milkyJammy · 13/02/2008 18:33

Ooops! The jamlet was playing with a catalgue that came in the post, and I got distracted by MN then found she was chewing it and a big chunk was missing from one corner. I pulled some out of her mouth, but it was nowhere near enough to account for the missing section, so she must have swallowed a fair bit

FairyFay · 14/02/2008 07:09

Where's everyone gone????????

btw, Jammy I'm sure she'll be fine - I found cardboard in DS's nappy at about 4 months and it was still distinguishable as part of one of DD's play kitchen food boxes

LittleMissNorty · 14/02/2008 07:49

Morning everyone ....oh I do like this part-time working.....day at home today ....got blardy loads of housework to do tho..and here I am MNing

Well took me all of 5 mins to catch up...has everyone got a RL or something ?

milkyJammy · 14/02/2008 08:46

Phew! I thought my bad parenting had killed the thread
