At least he is talking.

Dh food is a big thumbs up for me too. Are there plenty of bars in stratford

vinorouge · 08/02/2008 21:32

Something seems odd cos my MN says there are 10 pages of our thread but it will only take me up to page 9.....

Anyway it was a bit of a waste of time going to hospital today as basically they just made me an appt at the fetal medicine unit on wednesday where I will have a more detailed scan (whatever that is) and dh and I will be tested for cystic fybrosis. When the dr explained what cf was I felt quite calm but then when I read online you could have a life expecatncy of 31 I was a bit horrified but even if that is the case we will still go ahead. I couldn't terminate now even tho still possible technically. I sm hoping that its just cos I've been so poorly over the last few weeks that the baby has got a virus which is causing the problem. I am surprised I am so calm about it all, have not cried at all which is most unlike me who usually cries at anything and everything.

Oh!Page 10 and LTH's message just appeared.

LTH it sounds like you and your DH might quite like the sound of a number 5.

E&H I hope that you get on well with the decorating this weekend.

LAL I wouldn't recommend Harrogate for shopping. Its only really worth a trip to the turkish baths and bettys afterwards.

Rgee - we should go to the turkish baths for a non baby catch up and relaxation! Actually I prob can't go when pg, will check, if so we'll go afterwards.I thought of you as I walked past George today, if you were in town did you go in? Its closing down cos of Asda Living and everyone was getting a £5 voucher for there!

Dragonhart · 08/02/2008 22:48

We went to cafe bars not 'late' bars so not sure about them. There were plent of bars for me, but I am not a heavy drinker. More, I would say than Chester anyway. Sorry, not sure if that helps.

2happy · 09/02/2008 09:44

vino - sounds like you're going through something v similar to my dsis. At her 20w scan the bowel was very shiny (or something) and they told her it could mean lots of stuff - that she'd had a virus which had affected the baby, that the baby could have a perforated bowel(which in the end was what they decided it was), that the baby could have CF (high chance because dbil's sister has CF, incidently she's mid-30s, 2 kids, doing fine), right up to the worst possible scenarios (baby won't make it). In the end, as I say, it was a perforated bowel, but it healed spontaneously and the baby is 9m old and doing fine and you'd never know there's ever been anything wrong. Totally wrecked the middle trimester for dsis though, the worry was terrible. Deepest sympathies, vino, I'm sure my sister would be happy to talk to you if you needed to talk to someone who's been through it x

DH - if Lal's ok with that, I'd love to borrow it. ds1 is completely resistant to the idea. Well actually, that's not right. He's ok with the idea and keeps saying he'll do it, but then won't do it.

Ok so 10 thousand years after everyone else, i've finally decided to give facebook a go. Does anyone want to be my friend???
I am looking a bit sad at the moment with only 5 friends so far My brother has 388, which is obviosuly ridiculous!!

Shimmer · 09/02/2008 13:21

Gosh Vino, sorry to hear about the worries over cf. Finger crossed everything goes well for you at the scan next week!

katwith3kittens · 09/02/2008 14:36

Vino... will be thinking of you on Wednesday and in the mean time don't do any more googling ....AND THATS AN ORDER ( yes I did mean to shout that )

I like Chester over Stratford and Harrogate. Bath is lovely too but I dont really know Oxford. What a lovely position to be in choosing where to go tho .......

I've got raging PMT today, DH has taken DD to the lakes to 'goApe' dangling from trees like you do, and asked me to book him in at 2pm (why he couldn't do it himself I have no idea) that time was no longer available so I got 12.30 and we ended screaming at each other over a shaky mobile line, I mean if 12.30 was all they had then thats the end of it right ?

DS1 has then lost his trainers and his rugby boots were fitted with the wrong studs [clueless mum emotion] so we were late for training. Aaaaaggghhhh.

DS2 has got over being sick thankfully but its the other end now, and the washing machine is on all the time. I wish he would hurry up and start eating properly again and get his poos a bit firmer. Eewww.

Still on the plus side I'll be able to try my 'mooncup' out very soon

LTH .... you are a braver woman than most, after all this, still considering pushing out number 5 .. Wow !

Dragonhart · 09/02/2008 19:53

Vino- Sorry I missed your post last night. Must be very worrying for you both. Hope that they act quick and you find out everything you need to know asap. xxx

2happy- Will send it as soon as I can

MrsCarrot · 10/02/2008 09:25

vino - really sorry to hear that the scan was worrying, it must be a very stressful time. Hope you get some answers soon.

eandh · 10/02/2008 13:26

Afternoon - had a lovely weekend minus E and H!! Managed to get all of e's room emulsioned & glossed yesterday, finished it off this morning put curtains up etc been out and bought some ladybird handles for her furniture, am really pleased with it and cant wait to see her face.

Sweeney Todd was good but a bit depressing, we grabbed a takeaway on the way home and laid in this rning, woke at 8.30 but read the papers in bed till 10 just like I used to pre kids

My Mum and Dad said H was a nightmare last night, settled at 6pm but woke at 10pm and screamed and screamed so they put her in their bed and she was sitting up sobbing saying 'mama' but my Mum said loads of gunk came out of her ear and they finally got some calpol in her (she was spitting it out) and she slept 3.30-8am, apparently she was fine when she woke but think i'll make a Drs appt for her. They have taken them to the zoo today and then out for dinner so we'll get them back later when they are tired ans miserable

I am bored now done all housework etc, bit of ironing to do but I'll do that when footie is on.

Vino - will be thinking of you Wednesday ((hugs))

theUrbanDryad · 10/02/2008 19:25

eandh · 10/02/2008 20:39

Tried fresh orange or got any senokat for te constipation (I find that normally when someone rings that I really want to talk to I always need a poo )

Loaded pics of Ellies room on profile

Wilkie · 10/02/2008 20:39

Hi All

Vino - sorry to hear about scan, must be a worry but it does sounds very feasible that it has to do with your virus. Fingers crossed for Wed

UD - can't wait to see photos

EAH - love the bedroom pics!! Was she pleased?

LTH - hmmm confusing re the results. I suppose it was an outside chance at being pg. Can understand your disappointment though

LAL - silly mare, why would I be upset with you?? Still not sure whether to go for it or not - TBH, I am a bit 'meh' either way so maybe it's just not worth the money.

Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhh - now lost track of personals

Had a lovely weekend. Went to M&Ds on Friday, then went to Dsis house on Sat for the DTs birthday, then back to M&Ds today. J was a star, so cute and a little performer He has had a high temp today though and been a bit narky, think it is prob from his MMR either that or his teeth. He's not had any for nearly four months so some must be coming through in the near future!!

Really pleased that DH has got a second interview. It is a week on Thurs. We are looking at Shaw or Royton to live. Anyone know it?

Wilkie · 10/02/2008 20:40

X-posts

LTH - cup of tea makes me poo (no idea why!)

ladytophamhatt · 10/02/2008 20:54

I get PMT in the week upto my period and a sI'm due on in about a week....
have had 4 negative results now so have given up on the idea of it being positive if I test nearer my period
Sounds bloody stupid but I;m just glad I did take a photo of it and post it on here...I'd look like a right headcase otherwise!
I can only assume it was a freaky dodgy test....bastard thing!

Wilkie, tea makes me poo too normally...not working ATM though.

MrsCarrot · 10/02/2008 20:58

Good luck with interview, Wilkie. The caffeine in the tea probably stimulates your adrenaline btw, particularly if you are feeling more anxious than usual. This is more common with coffee though.

EAH - could it be an ear infection? If there is gunk coming out of the ear after a bout of screaming it soounds like the eardrum has perforated. They usually feel a bit better afterwards as the pressure is gone. Didn't J have that at one point, Wilkie?

LTH - Hope you feel less bored soon!

I am stuffed after too much roast poek. It was a gorgeous day here, we walked on the broads for ages.

Wilkie · 10/02/2008 21:01

MrsC - yup, J has had a few infections and we think, a perforated ear drum, as gunk came out of it after crying and temp

mrs c - are you in norfolk?!?!?!

MrsCarrot · 11/02/2008 09:54

yes, I am, Bunny.

What did you say late last night?

bunnyhunny · 11/02/2008 10:33

Mrs C - are you on holiday, or do you live in norfolk (hopeful emoticon)

wilkie - any news? and are you keeping up with lost?

lth - sorry about all the -ves. sad

vino - hope the tests work out ok.

this is my totally inoffensive post from last night. I wasnt going to repost, just to see what you all made of a withdrawn message !

I mentioned my surname, then panicked cos I am a teacher and LOADS of people know my surname. I don't want my mnet name turning up on google next to my surname!!!!

I have been baking. shock considering that I never baked a cake til s's 1st birthday, I have been unstoppable since. I was baking muffins at 9am this morning.. I am thinking that when we eventually sell, we should look for houses in Stepford.

We took S swimming this morning, and he went under 3 times, and kept asking for more! He is such an adventurer - he really is stepping into our omit surname here footprints.

And, shock my brother came round today!!! shock shock when he left, I commented to dh that 'that was really pleasant '. It felt very natural, which was very strange and very nice. We have a love of nerdy computer games, and lost in common. smile

anyway, lost is looking very interesting, and jack is particularly tasty, so that's me set for the week...
