ange - dh is at college tomorrow (during the day) but then lates again thur - sat so home midnight. Then days next week.

I am shattered too, Erin is being a star at night, she did 7pm - 7.30am last night. Shame about the boys

elkiedee · 05/02/2008 21:19

Sorry to all who are feeling ill, miserable, worried whether it's about babies, work, mad housing officers or whatever. Hugs all round.

dp is waiting for the bus home from work and D seems settled. First time in months that I've put him to bed on my own without my dad's help at bathtime when dp isn't here, and the first time I've dared give him a bath in the bath on my own. Seems less scary now I've done it. I know most of you probably do it all the time and/or with multiple little ones.

oooggs · 05/02/2008 21:21

elkie - its like a sheep dip here when I am on my own!!!!!

AngeG · 05/02/2008 21:28

Seems like he's been doing nights for ages Oooggs to Erin sleeping well, hope the boys follow suit!

lol at sheep dip

I prefer to have someone here when I bath Izzy, I normally go in with her and like to have someone to hand her to before I get out. Good on you for doing in on your own Elkie.

Sexonlegs · 05/02/2008 21:28

Oooggs, pmsl at sheep dip!

Hi Elkie. I don't mind bathing the 2 of them now that K is sitting up, as her and B have such a giggle together.

AngeG · 05/02/2008 21:31

That's lovely SOL. Izzy refuses to sit still, tries to stand up or crawl along in the water, it's much safer if someone is in there with her!!

weeonion · 05/02/2008 21:34

i bought a bath chair for c. so much easier now as she had got to the stage where the slippery wee minx just wanted to stand and splash. will now sit happily and playin teh water. it is so much easier for gettingher in / out of the bath as i do every night on my own. plus - it was 50p in a charity shop so well worth the money!!!!!!!!

NorthernLurker · 05/02/2008 21:36

sheep dip here too - but I remember what it was like bathing them alone - they're so slippy and so vulnerable - it is scary! Well done Elkie

SOL - I'm not ecstatic about going back but I was ok - till I went in for a chat and found that the four days we had talked about before I went on M/L was no longer an option. I could apply for a 18.5hr post - if it is approved by the powers that be but tbh I have started to wonder how keen they are on having me back - sometimes I think I'm just paranoid, othertimes I know they're out to get me! My other option is to do four days but at my old,old job (I was acting up in a more senior position before m/l) Well - I can tell you now I am not leaving my daughter in nursery four days a week to be back where I was two years ago! So I need to apply and negotiate my way through it - and probably apply for other jobs. It's the uncertainty that's getting me down, that and the fact that I do feel I have been treated differently because of the m/l. A higher grade post came up as a secondment just before my m/l started - my manager told me I was free to apply but they wouldn't be able to appoint me as they needed somebody in post (ie not on m/l) I do sympathise with that position - but that shouldn't have been said to me. So I didn't apply, preferring to trust that things would come right - and maybe they will - but I'm nervous nonetheless.

I think you need a sleeping bag for B as well Think Letterbox do some

elkiedee · 05/02/2008 21:38

LOL at sheepdip too. Danny loves playing in the water, and dp usually gets into the bath with him. But last night dp did the bath on his own, and didn't get in, as my job then is to take D out and put on nappy/clothes while dp finishes washing himself and last time dp tried having a bath alone with D he found it too scary trying to get out with him. Tomorrow my dad will help me as normal on dp's lates - he's not at work but he's going back to Kings Lynn.

dp's mum looks like she will go to another home, unfortunately it will probably be one some way from KL - the most likely is nearly an hour by a bus which also runs hourly, and it's also in the opposite direction from her (older) sister in Wisbech who still drives but understandably at 78 isn't too keen on driving distances or after dark.

AngeG · 05/02/2008 21:40

Bargain WO, great idea. Will have a look for one. DH will be well chuffed at the thought of me spending more money

Am going to Brighton on Friday with my Mum. We are going to the Bravissimo shop to get me some decent bras!!

Can I ask those who are bf, are you still wearing nursing bras/pads etc?

weeonion · 05/02/2008 21:44

StealthPolarBear · 05/02/2008 21:45

t loves crawling & standing in the bath, except today he tried to climb our
doesn't fall, just kind of plonks humself back down. i take the opportunity to wash his bum
ange - bras but no pads. no bra at night as i'm hoping to tempt fate and he'll sleep through! not working

StealthPolarBear · 05/02/2008 21:45

climb out

AngeG · 05/02/2008 21:50

My laptop is so slow tonight.

lol taking the opportunity to wash his bum SPB

I'm wearing nursing bras still but no pads. Am going braless at night now as well, much to DH delight Think I want a couple of 'normal' bras now I'm not feeding all day everyday, the support in the nursing ones is rubbish I'm gonna end up with tits down to my knees

NorthernLurker · 05/02/2008 21:51

nursing bras here - finally gave up on pads at Christmas - they were a bit of a security blanket Haven't worn a bra at night for months though

AngeG · 05/02/2008 21:53

Just had a nosey at your profile WO. C is gorgeous I love the photo of her hair up! How are you doing? Any more news on your work situation?

AngeG · 05/02/2008 21:54

Do you think it would be ok to wear 'normal' bras every now and again?

NorthernLurker · 05/02/2008 21:56

I would put something on top.....

weeonion · 05/02/2008 21:57

i think it is ok to wear ordinary bras by this stage. i wore one on our scottish night out and couldnt believe how much thinner i looked. ok - so it was practically scaffolding to lift these mambos up - but i felt so much better!

work situation still not sorted. due to hear news of appeal by tomorrow. arghhhhhhhh

ta for comments on pics. she is my wee dote!

AngeG · 05/02/2008 21:58

DH would like it if I didn't

Sexonlegs · 05/02/2008 22:01

I have had a peek too WO, and C is totally gorgeous!!!
