OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
StealthPolarBear · 05/02/2008 19:18

pesha, would you have time to express to get your supply up? or not really?
could you not give him healthy snack food, apple, dried apricots, etc?

StealthPolarBear · 05/02/2008 19:19

Hi everyone else, sorry
Dippy, when I saw that I thought of you straight away, can't think why

StealthPolarBear · 05/02/2008 19:20

NL T has always been like that and he's actually getting better now. Until he was about 7 months I didn't have a shower without screaming in the background Now he's only like that when tired/ grumpy? Could she be teething?

NorthernLurker · 05/02/2008 19:21

Dippy - it's rubbish isn't it? It's so lovely when she talks to me and coos and does her own thing or crawls up and pulls up on me - I just can't be doing with being shouted at!

NorthernLurker · 05/02/2008 19:22

SPB - I think she's constantly teething No I no what the problem is really - it's me - I'm so uptight about work and so abgry with myself about it that my patience is exhausted. Feel really, really bad!

AngeG · 05/02/2008 19:31

Hello everyone

Been at work today, Izzy slept for 4hours from 10.30am to 2.30pm in travel cot at work so got loads done.

Sorry to all those with clingy babies. I'm very lucky that Izzy is happy almost all of the time. She's so smiley. Someone only has to say hello to her and she's all smiles.

She was a bit upset earlier though. J managed to lock me and him out of the house, Izzy was crawling around crying and looking for us Luckily DH was in the house but was in the toilet so it was a good 10 mins before we got back in.

Pesha - Thinking of you. Don't have any advice sorry. Izzy bfs morning and night and often on and off from about 3pm til tea time at 5/6ish, I think it depends on how much she has eaten for lunch. Hope you manage to sort something out. Don't feel bad, you've done a fantastic job and can still feed him morning and night.

Oh have just thought of a bit of advice, sometimes Izzy seems to want water rather than bf in the afternoon, almost like she's thirsty, could you try that?

Forgotten everything else.

AngeG · 05/02/2008 19:32

Thinking of you NL. Hope you can resolve the work problem soon. Thinking of you.

AngeG · 05/02/2008 19:42

Double thinking of you

CaptainDippy · 05/02/2008 19:54

{{{{Pesha}}}}- wasn't ignoring you earlier btw, just x-posted. Do you not think that D is old enough just to stop BF and not need a bottle - just cutting out the milk altogether (giving him plenty of dairy in food etc)? I don't know All babies are different - I just know P weaned herself off of BF about a month or so ago and has never had a bottle either. She is thriving ok.

So your DH is one of these men that spend fifty bilion yeeeears in the loo when he goes too, Ange!? Sympathy here! Glad he was in and able to let you back in.

CaptainDippy · 05/02/2008 19:56

NL - with P the way she is atm I just have no idea how I am going to cope while DH is away.

Bugmum · 05/02/2008 19:57

Absolutely lightening visit, just to say:
Pesha - as well as trying the water (which is a good idea, I think), can you - instead of a bottle - give wholegrain baby rice made with formula? Gives milk, avoids bottle, won't be a swap with the breast, iykwim.
HTH, Bugmum x

CaptainDippy · 05/02/2008 19:59

Right. Off to veg out ........

NorthernLurker · 05/02/2008 20:03

Thanks Ange

Dippy - is he back for the weekends or is it 3 weeks straight?
Have posted that book today btw and put an envelope in for sending it back when you're done.

Dh home and B ready for bed - back later

Pesha · 05/02/2008 20:12

Thank you all He will take a bottle easily so thats not a problem. I could fit in expressing in my MN time! But TBH after all the hassle when he was little I really cant face going back to all that. He does drink alot of water but it doesnt seem to satisfy him. I do give him healthy food too and we could try harder to give him more (its mostly dp chucking him bits while I'm cooking, cleaning etc) but the way hes constantly grazing and whinging I dont think its really what he wants iyswim.

I think if I could just sit down with him and let him bf on and off we could probably work it but its my busy time of day! And with dp being on these tablets he just sleeps or wants to sleep so is no help atm. I'm sure I'll get over myself and in a couple of days ill be fine about it!

StealthPolarBear · 05/02/2008 20:14

It is hard to get used to isn't it? T has cut right down on his bfs (except at night ) and as he doesn't eat much solid food I'm a little concerned but he's probably just getting more in the few feeds he has.
Anyway, taking him to be weighed tomorrow for the first time in about 6 weeks so I'll soon find out! Better find his red book - if it's not at the bottom of the changing bag then I think it's gone!

Pesha · 05/02/2008 20:20

Ooops x posted, was watching tv!

Dippy - it really does seem like its a milk feed he wants. He is eating solid food but still whinging, playing with it etc. Seems like hes hungry but for milk. I dont know how to explain it but my mummy instinct is telling me thats what hes wanting!!

Bugmum - thats a good idea, he could get the taste, speed and full tummy sensation of milk but without the bottle. Think I will try that thanks

runnyhabbit · 05/02/2008 20:20

Just a quickie.

Hope everyones doing ok, and babies/dp/dh are behaving themselves.

W is perking up a little bit, but still not eating, has refused bf and ff, but is drinking very weak juice. I am so drained

Hopefully bathroom should be done by the end of the week (fingers crossed emoticon)

Night all
x

Pesha · 05/02/2008 20:23

Lol SPB - I had to have a mad search last time I took D to be weighed. I knew where M and N's books were but not D's

NorthernLurker · 05/02/2008 20:24

Runny - sorry to hear that - I think it's safe to say that this is shaping up to be a week of truly epic crapness for us April mummies! (Is it ies or ys?)#
B now making a fuss about going to bed but Hurray - dh has suggested pizza!

oooggs · 05/02/2008 20:54

I feel dreadful first period since mc and it is awful I ache, have tummy ache, am tired and am bleeding heavy again.

dd in bed asleep

ds2 threw up tea and milk at 7.30pm and ds1 helped to clean up - bless him, even wiping sick off my skirt with a muslin whilst I tried to undress ds2.

ds1 in bed asleep which was rushed as I needed to get ds2 into the travel cot in our room - what a mess

and guess what ----- dh on lates

AngeG · 05/02/2008 21:06

Runny, sorry W has been so poorly, hope he's better soon. Fingers crossed for the bathroom!

Bugmum, that's a great idea, much more filling than water, may try that myself Hope you're ok Pesha.

Sexonlegs · 05/02/2008 21:06

Oh Oooggs, my heart goes out to you. You really are having a shite time aren't you? Thinking of you and yours xx

POTC, hope you are ok.

Caz, what a dilemna re the house etc. Hope you can sort things out.

NL, I am sorry you are having a down day. Are you not keen on going back to work?

Dippy, hope dd2 is feeling better and you get some more rest.

And MJ and Runny, hope your lo's pick up again soon.

Ange, can't believe the 4 hour nap Izzy had! Did she go down ok tonight?

How is everyone else doing?

All ok here, but like the rest of you, totally knackered. Dh due back later on this evening. Bloody B yelled out for me at 6 this morning as her sodding duvet had fallen off again. How can I stop this happening? I have tucked it well in on the side against the wall, but to no avail. Ho hum.

AngeG · 05/02/2008 21:10

Sorry started typing earlier and forgot to post!

Oh Oooggs Bless DS1 helping you clear up the sick. Hope you're feeling better soon and that the children sleep for you tonight. When does DH finish nights?

oooggs · 05/02/2008 21:10

sol - can only get better

now in my PP magazine this month they had a duvet like grobag made by grobag here don't know anything about it just saw an advert

AngeG · 05/02/2008 21:13

x posts again.

Hi SOL, yes she went down and 8pm, about normal time for her.

Perhaps a sleeping bag, to stop the duvet falling off?!

I too am shattered tonight, but DH has just been to the shop and bought me a box of Thorntons chocs Although he says it's my early valentines present
