shanks313 · 31/01/2008 22:52

muppetisacat · 01/02/2008 09:34

good to hear from shanks and jay - glad you're both still popping in here looks like you're both getting big babies

bethoo glad your dp is being supportive! Perhaps he will now step up to the mark and this will be the making of him.
Congratulations to you!

kiwibella · 01/02/2008 09:38

congrats Bethoo!! Great to have an update from you two, Shanks and Jay.

Best wishes to your sister for a successful pregnancy Muppet.

Spongecake... you can't keep a good man down!! You Dad needs a holiday somewhere warm where he can relax and do nada .

Actually, I need one of those.

Thanks for sharing Spice... it is truly amazing.

Hope Jordi enjoys a quiet weekend with his Mama after such an eventful week.

Kitty and Piffle - glad that you are getting some relief

Thinking of you today Diva as you follow up the incident at school.

I have absolutely no faith in the UK school system any more. The school I just left has had Ofsted through this week. They obviously didn't look too closely or speak to any of the children because they gave them an OUTSTANDING result. It just isn't possible .

Rosylily · 01/02/2008 09:42

Shanks and Jay brilliant to get an update and I'm really glad all is going well.

Callie I hope Jordi is better soon poor wee guy. And I just don't know how you are coping with work to go to aswell. much respect.

Sponge I don't know what the spots could be either. Hasan gets the odd 5p size red patch and it is a spot of excema with him.

Bethoo congratulations! Let's see what your dp does this time, hopefully he proves he has changed this time! How are you feeling? Sick?

Rosylily · 01/02/2008 09:50

Muppet I'm delighted for your sister. Have everything crossed for her...what is it about asperin helping people?

Spicemonster you are a very brave and determined woman. With good result!

kittywise · 01/02/2008 10:35

Wow, what a lot of news to catch up on!

bethoo, many congrats, it's what you wanted isn't it?

Piffle, glad you're feeling better and that dh is there to help
I'm feeling better today. The dentist filed down a crown which he thinks became too high after my jaw moved and the upper tooth was pressing on it causing lots of pain and nerve probs. They put me on Amitriptyline at first and then changed that to carbamazepine and also 30/500 codine and paracetamol .
I have not taken any drugs for over 24 hours and hardly any pain. I hated being so off my face ( control freak moi?).

Muppet finger s crossed for your sister I had three m/c in a row before dd3.

Jay and shanks not long to go for you two then. Other people's pregnancies always seem to go really quickly .
It's lovely that you still pop over here and keep us up-to-date.

Rosy, how are you feeling today/

Diva, bullying is awful and girls can be really horrible. I hope you get it sorted and that the school treats it with the seriousness it deserves.

hi Foxy

Kiwi, I always think that ofsted is a bit strange. I think that 'spot checks' would be by far the best way to see how a school/setting is really performing.

hello to anyone else I've missed

bethoo · 01/02/2008 11:16

thanks everyone, still in shock but coming round to the idea!!
i feel a bit light headed and apart from that ok, i know it is early as just over 4 weeks so symptoms should start in a week or so!!! i am gong ot try and stay trainigthroughout this pregnancy and try to eat better to avoid gd. i am being a bit hasty as it is all i want to talk about already!!!
would be nice to have another boy for Hayden and i kept all his clothes so it would be good for saving money. just think it is goign to be a nightmare tryign to get a double buggy out front door to walk the dogs! will i ever be able otget out the house again let alone walk the dogs!!!

muppetisacat · 01/02/2008 11:20

rosy - i'm no expert but i think that there is a blood disorder where your blood clots too easily during pg - clots form at the placental site and obstruct blood flow to the baby... not sure if it is an immune response or whether it is just your blood is too thick...

... aspirin is a relatively safe/simple way to thin the blood and prevent clots...

... she is having all manner of tests monday at the recurrent miscarriage unit... didn't think she'd be pg for them!!

It's horrid cos i want to be all excited but having done that for the past 3 times you just don't want to get your hopes up do you? Kitty - i didn't know you had that many in a row

Divastrop · 01/02/2008 12:34

bethoo-congratulations
i thought i wouldnt be able to get a twin buggy through my front door, hence why i got through 3 PITA tandem ones, then ended up with a twin one which fits pretty much anywhere.

i havent been into the school yet.it is a boy who is bullying her, possibly his parents are to blame,he lives with his grandparents at the moment.i know his mother and she used to be a hreoin addict

sponge-good to hear your dad is recovering ok.a holiday sounds like a good idea.i dont know about the spots either, but Elsie and dd2 both get excema spots about that size.

jay/shanks-i cant believe you are going to have more babies so soon.it only seems 5 minutes since this lot were born.i couldnt imagine having another one now, although ds1 was 11 months old when i had dd1.no wonder i was loopy!

Elsie had her 8 month check this morning!she is 23lb and everything is fine.the HV asked about immunisations so i told her she wasnt having any.she didnt have a go or anything just said i should consider just the tetanus,so i will look into that i think.
she also asked me what support i was getting()and mentioned the post-natal illness support group,so i ended up having to tell her the whole sorry tale of why i am unable to go there.

i think i will look into getting dd2 into pre-school now.she has changed since christmas and is enjoying mixing with the other children at mother and toddler alot more now.maybe she would benefit from a couple of mornings away from me.

bethoo · 01/02/2008 12:42

Diva - how come Elsie had 8 month check so late, surely she is 10 months now?
this little boy who is bullying your little girl sounds like he may have problems of his own and may be a form of attention seeking or does not know how to interact wiht ohter people. can yuo imagine what he must have gone through? god only knows. i am notmaking excuses for him as there is no excuse for bullying but i would have thouhgt he is requiring councelling of some sort. i know that when i was at junior school there was a class for children with social problems (bullies!!). it is not the solution i know. have you thought about seeing the grand parent if the school is not going ottake responsibility?

Rosylily · 01/02/2008 15:09

Kitty I'm on the mend thanks.

They have dropped the 8 month check here I think. We didn't have one anyway.

Muppet it is amazing to think that a little aspirin could make such a world of difference. I hope it goes well for her this time. It must be hard watching your sister go through so much heartache.

Hasan loves to fiddle when he feeds. He poked my belly button with his sharp nails and made it bleed.ow ow ow. (not to self - cut little finger nails)

kittywise · 01/02/2008 15:58

Ouch Rosy, Ronnie likes to pinch my other nip with his sharp scratchy nails .

They do a 1 year check here now I think.

Divastrop · 01/02/2008 16:36

bethoo-Elsie is almost 11 months,i think we just got forgotten about.

i went into the school and they have had a word with the lad and it seems he just thought he was having a laugh and didnt realise he was upsetting anyone.we will see how things go.

i first met the boy when he was a 5month old baby, being looked after by his 12 year old aunt as the mum was off her face.he was filthy.

i think its important dd1 understands why some people pick on others, after all, bullies can be encountered anywhere.

Divastrop · 01/02/2008 16:54

oh,and ds2 is being naughty in school,apparently asbo's back?

Rosylily · 02/02/2008 09:08

Diva that is really sad, bullies bully for a reason don't they...often they are being bullied at home or their self esteem is so low that they desperately try to bring others to their level. But it can be very subtle too.

I'm for ever reminding ds1 to make sure that their mates messing about isn't upsetting anyone or making anyone feel picked on.
He is really lucky because he is very quick and witty so he can keep his cool and think of a come back on the spot the way I never could.
I'm not sure how the others will cope out there in the big bad bullying world but the primary school are teaching an awareness even from p1 and I am delighted.

It is a winter wonderland here this morning, but the road looks like a bottle and I don't fancy driving on it.

Rosylily · 02/02/2008 10:49

any ideas?

Callieco · 02/02/2008 22:47

My god, where is everybody? I've just been on Amazon ordering cookery books for DS (you know what I mean - he's not learning to cook - yet!).

I really should go to bed as still getting woken up by him in the middle of the night and I was in work today so am fairly knackered but I feel as it's Saturday night I have the right to stay up a little bit, even if it's just myself who's going to suffer in the morning, or before probably.

I did manage to watch the beginning (awful) and end (FANTASTIC) of the England-Wales game today. Oh glory be, it was marvellous. Any England fans out there.....???

Callieco · 02/02/2008 22:50

I forgot to say, congratulations Bethoo. Hope it all goes well for you, and your (ex?)dp endeavours to deserve you!
