I was tempted to write the subject with reference to NM .

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
shanks313 · 13/04/2008 23:41

The pethidine never really kicked in,just made me a little tired.

DH is very upset about missing the birth, but it was so quick it wasnt anybodys fault.

bethoo · 13/04/2008 23:44

shanks sounds good apart from the pain, though had you had an epidural your labour would have not been so quick!

evenhope · 14/04/2008 12:27

shanks many congratulations on your new little girl. Wish my labours had been that fast! I take it she wasn't breech in the end?

Can I ask everyone, are there any babies in this PN group that don't speak? At all? Altho DD has been babbling away since she was tiny she still doesn't say any recognisable words. Many months ago she said mama and on holiday she was saying "ab" to all the birds she saw but that is it.

She points at everything and has come up with her own sign when she's hungry, that we didn't teach her, but she doesn't say anything. I have been through all the developmental stuff and all say they should say mama, dada and one other word by now, plus be repeating sounds like oh-oh. She doesn't.

DS3 was 4 days older than she is now when he said his first word, but had 3 older siblings translating for him ("he wants a drink, daddy")so didn't need to speak. The other 3 all spoke at 11 months and also walked alone at 10-11 months. She is starting to take the odd step alone but couldn't be said to be walking independently, and isn't speaking either. She is 13 months.

She can clearly hear, and does all the other fine and gross motor stuff she's supposed to, as well as "singing" and dancing all the time but the lack of any attempt at all to speak is starting to worry me now.

fitfox · 14/04/2008 13:42

Shanks congratulations on the birth of your beautiful daughter!!

What a pretty name you chose too

{cyber hugs} Polar

BTW did you see Dr Who in Pompeii???

fitfox · 14/04/2008 13:43

Sorry that sounded really flippant

TheBlonde · 14/04/2008 14:35

evenhope - my LO is not speaking, she has said something that sounds like mama about 3 times in the last 12 weeks but only in times of desperation

kittywise · 14/04/2008 14:40

Evenhope, Ronnie has no 'words', no teeth either. I wouldn't worry

ReverseThePolarity · 14/04/2008 15:38

Foxie, to mention Doctor Who is never flippant! I did see it and I must say CT is growing on me.

Evenhope, Bertie says "cat" ("ka"), "what's that?" ("oss da?" - to everything) and can make the sign for "milk". But he can't say Mama and Dada! Babies all do different things at different times and speeds. Oh he can't walk yet either.

Poor thing, he's lost so much weight with that bug you can now see his ribs so I am feeding him up with chocolate and fatty foods healthy high calorie foods.

kittywise · 14/04/2008 16:20

Mossy, Ron has a had a horrible bug/ awful acid nappies for over a week now. He is on boob only with perhaps one 3oz bottle per day. He too doesn't need to lose any more weight .

I am crapping myself as the HV is coming on Thursday and I seriously think he will have fallen off the bottom of the chart . His nappies smell like newborn breast milk nappies again!

fitfox · 14/04/2008 16:43

Oh [hugs] to the "skinny minnies" Ronnie and Bertie

Montipine says "Mem", "Dadadadada" and "nightmare" - seriously

He can walk and climb Glastonbury Tor the stairs. He can do 20 "laps" on the stairs before he gets tired. He can also climb onto tables and steal food

Kitty got your message thanx

DD has just peed all over the floor . She's nearly 5 FGS!!!!

Divastrop · 14/04/2008 16:44

evenhope-i wouldnt worry about the speaking yet.she has plenty of time.Elsie has only just started crawling properly,dd2 didnt crawl in any way till she was 13.5 months.all of mine have been later to walk.the later the better i say

mossy-CT is much much much better than that martha thing.i couldnt watch the last series of dr.who as i couldnt cope with her wooden acting and lack of anything resembling a personality.at least CT has talent.all they need to do is get rid of david tennant and his piss-poor attempt at a southern english accent(why does he have to put an accent on anyway?its not eastenders)and the whole proramme will be watchable again

nothing wrong with chocolate.its a good sorce of calcium

Divastrop · 14/04/2008 16:46

foxy-dh caught ds2 peeing in the drain in the back street yesterday.his reaction was 'im proud of you son'

fitfox · 14/04/2008 17:24

Diva - my DH has much the same reaction "that's my boy!"

Piffle · 14/04/2008 21:57

Shanks well done have seen your pics, what a beautiful pair of girls you have there!
Hope you are recovering ok. Fab birth top effort.

Mossy are things ok? Seemed a bit of a hidden statement but are you and DH coping ok? Sounds like you have both been through a lot and you carry a lot of stress on yourself sometimes.

Talking hmmm... DD never babbled or talked, infact until age 3 was erm.. yep... non verbal infact.
Now you would never know, seriously chatterbox of the year. it comes to them all, enjoy the peace

Finn says
bang
dinner
no
mama dada emmy (dd)
bear (his cuddly)
na nyes
ba bye
nana - banana
dat for that...

and one thing
bicah bicah bicah really fast as he is walking around, like some secret phrase. No doubt will morph into biscuit at some point...
He never shuts up, chater chatter chatter, very very sweet. Except not at 3am....

Well news here of a rotten kitchen floor, an insurance company willing to rip out all the base kitchen units to fix the floor, but not cover any units that break upon removal.
So am loony style crash designing new kitchen
which we
cannot
afford
at
all
FARK!!!!!

Jaysfinished · 14/04/2008 22:25

evening Ladies

so much going on in everyones lives! I seem to be doing the same shit every day at the moment...shit being the operative word!!! Lost count how many dirty nappies i changed today...!!

Seriously, Cooper is still being a star, i really dont know i have him sometimes and by that i dont mean i leave him everywhere, although i could do. I think hes screamed maybe half a dozen times in his little life so far all other times he just murmurs and that can mostly be shushed out of him!!

I am taking him to have his tongue tie snipped on Wednesday, found out i could be waiting 2 months before anything happens with the NHS, so have decided its best to go private and get it sorted. If nothing else i need my poor nipples to have a rest from his gnawing ! will let you know how it goes.

As for talking, Jensen doesn't really say an awful lot. He makes attempts to say stuff, like Baba and Mama and Dada, but theres nothing really significant, i am not worried at the mo though, Harriette more than makes up for the both of them, shes a complete madam I do have the opposite problem to you skinnie minnies out there, Jensen has become fat... now i know its only 'puppy' fat, but he seems to be the only baby i know that has put weight on while walking about at top speed.. arent they suposed to lose it a bit now?? Mind you i guess three full bottles of full fat cows milk, on top of three meals with puddings, and snacks during the day cant help....what kind of foods are your lot eating, i wonder if i am feeding him too much? He only weighs 2 lbs less than Harriette and shes a year older... shes 2stone 4lbs, hes 2stone 2lbs.....

Looking forward to Piffs visit on Thursday... you can tell me all about your 'poorly' kitchen

Luv to all xx

kittywise · 14/04/2008 22:46

Ha ha Jay, I don't know how much Ronnie weighs but it is next to nothing. They are all different dd3 weighs as much as dd2 and there is 2 years difference.
I've decided not to worry, there is nothing I can do, whatever food I offer Ronnie he bats it away with his hand and real look of indignation on his face .

Piff, good luck with designing the kitchen

Jaysfinished · 14/04/2008 22:50

your right not to worry, TBH i am not worried re J's weight, and the only reason i know how much he weighs is because DH has some new scales - he was on a health kick and insisted on weighing the family....i made my excuses at this point and retreated to the biscuit barrel....!

fitfox · 15/04/2008 09:06

Piff - LOL at "Bica Bica Bica"

I noticed last night that when I run the bath, Monti runs into the bathroom and starts throwing all the bath toys into the bath, 1 by 1, in anticipation!

Jay - Monti is obese too he never stays still, but eats non stop too so is incerdibly chubby and lovely - a real heffer!!

His hair has got very long too - am deciding whether to let it grow, Oasis/Beatle style, or get him a visit to hairdresser

fitfox · 15/04/2008 09:07

Jay - lots of nappies are a good sign aren't they - indicate a healthy appatite

Kitty - LOL at your same size DD's

Piffle · 15/04/2008 10:07

yes at the bath....
finn also likes to chuck stuff in when I'm in the bath
I have the lumps to prove it.

Hoping thursdya is do able Jay... car brakes are being a ever so slightly airy sounding.
Will get dp to check it over tonight!

Divastrop · 15/04/2008 11:43

jay-Elsie only weighed 3lb less than dd2 last time i checked, although dd2 has recently had a growth spurt and suddenly needs 3-4 years clothes.

i took her to the hairdressers yesterday, which was ok but the woman didnt cut enough off as she got all panicky when dd2 started crying.the senior haidresser(who does my hair)was telling her to carry on but she was all nervous, bless her.

i am once again wondering where af is.i can only assume my cycle has changed, but why on earth would it?its been 24-26 days since i had dd1,yet last month it arrived on day 29 and now i am on day 27 and no sign.i dont feel like killig anybody either, and i still like dh and am not thinking hes going to leave me/is having an affair.gin.

bethoo · 15/04/2008 12:57

so much to catch up on! cnat believe that Finn is saying so much! Hayden just says mama and dada!

went to health clinic for first time in four months and got Hayden weighed. was shocked to discover he weighs only 17 lbs! gosh i thought he would be at least 20! [shock}

fitfox · 15/04/2008 16:31

Piff - you have time for a bath? LOL

fitfox · 15/04/2008 16:35
