happy birthday Ronnie!

Elsie is teething also and was up loads last night(i lost count).her t-shirt is soaked through with dribble.her temperature seems to have gone down though.

kitty-((((hugs))))to your dd3,hope she is better soon.

Callieco · 08/04/2008 20:13

Happy birthday Ronnie! Only one to go now. Jordi is 15 months old today....AAARRRRGGGHHHH.

Polar, hope Bertie is ok. Hospital sounds worrying, big hugs to you.

Two of my friends have had baby girls in the past few weeks. Maybe they are making up for all the boys that arrived last year . A third is due next month, so I wonder if she can make it a hat trick. Everybody seems to be getting pregnant again - one of my coffee mums announced she was having her second in Sept, so she's the third one of the group on to no 2 now. Hope it's catching, although funnily enough I feel less broody now than I did a year ago. I'd still love another though.

ReverseThePolarity · 08/04/2008 20:17

Ah Piffle, poor Finn with his black eye how is he now? And how are you and the rest of chez Piff?

Kitty, happy birthday to Ronnie! Only one baby left now to turn one.... yes, that's Bertie, this Friday.

Diva hope Elsie's teeth come through for you soon!

Well... Thursday, Bertie fell down the stairs. Entirely my fault too, I hadn't locked the baby gate properly. So of course we took him A&E... they took him up to Children's Ward where after a few hours he seemed to stage a full recovery, so we took him home on the understanding that we were to look out for a few signs e.g. dizziness, vomiting etc and bring him back if this happened in 48 hours.

Friday he was fine.

Saturday morning and noon he was fine. P.m. he starts being sick...

... so we rush him back to the ward where Bertie starts getting worse and worse... there is talk of a CT scan, Bertie is fast asleep at this point, they call out the Radiographer from home, but then just as he is on his way Bertie wakes up and they say it is too risky to do the scan as they'd need to sedate him now he is awake and they're reluctant.

Anyway a Dr comes in and has a proper look at him (his throat and ears) and says there's a good chance it might just be an unrelated bug.

But they keep us in overnight for monitoring... during which time I'm told a load of shit about breastfeeding (i.e. don't do it it's making him sick 'cos it's too heavy for his tummy and give him water instead) and also overhear the nurses talking about how weird it is a one year old still wakes in the night (as you have to tell them baby's routine in case anything happens to you so I said he wakes in the night two sometimes three times) and how if he was their baby they'd nip that in the bud!!!!

Too tired and worried to say anything though.

So as soon as we ascertain the next morning it is just a nasty bug and nothing to do with the fall I take him home... Monday he is laid low with this bug, today he is not great either, I have to go back to work tomorrow as I am losing money (temp job = no sick pay) and have given mil my entire stash of EBM as he has been back to near-exclusive bfing while ill.

(God, the poos! I had forgotten!)

So all in all not the happiest 31st birthday celebrations I could have hoped for!!

Have been trying to catch up with everyone's messages. Bethoo I'm glad you seem to be seeing the light about your dp (exdp?). Jay I'm glad to hear Cooper is a dream baby!!

Everyone else hello and I will try to check back here a bit more often. xx

fitfox · 08/04/2008 20:19

Happy Birthday Ronnie!!!

Hope you have a nice day and get some cake!!

Kitty Saturday is always good as am my own here with kids. Saying that, DD has a party between 3-5pm but apart from that I will be home alone

Divastrop · 08/04/2008 20:40

mossy-@your hospital experience.hope bertie is better soon.i have always read that if you are bf you should give only bm if your baby has a bug,and only offer water if they are refusing bm.maybe the nurses are ignorant as there is a low bf rate in your area so they just gave you the same advice as for ff babies..the advice from about 10 years ago, that is.

when Elsie had to stay in when she was 8 months, the nurses thought it was weird that she didnt wake in the night.each one asked me about 3 times if i was sure she didnt have a bottle in the night.

she has been screaming for most of the day due to her teeth

Piffle · 08/04/2008 22:28

Mossy dreadful re hospital stay. God you must be shattered. I really hope he gets better and back to his exploring self soon. Everything fine here thanks for asking ;)
how are those with relationship crises doing? Foxy? Kitty? And my fellow kiwi?
Finn is being cosmic and so delish. He is counting!!!! On ooo becapa becapa? What kinda word is that huh? He does it with blocks. He also nicks dd's snuggle mousey, heir much faster than her due to her eyesight. Oh then he smiles offers it back, begs a sloppy kiss off her and snatches it and runs. Yes runs.
he is hysterically amusing!!!!
right dp has run over my bloody pram ( bugaboo no laughing matter grr) so off to admonish him properly.

kittywise · 08/04/2008 22:37

oh dear piff, have you got a spare one?

Ronnie has just started coming in and having 'conversations' it's so sweet to see. he chatters away pointing and 'answering', haven't got a clue what he's on about.

Mossy Ronnie fell down the cellar steps the other day ( all the washing machines and ironing stuff is down there).

Ds1 was supposed to be guarding him. He can come down perfectly well on his own, but I think there was a bit of argey bargey(sp?) with him and ds1 and I saw him flying backwards down the wooden steps, Banging his head and body against step and wall as he fell. I managed to catch him by the leg before he hit the bottom.
Cue much screaming and shrieking from me, and much of the same from ds1. I fed him and he was fine. Actually it didn't occur to me to take him to the hospital

Piffle · 09/04/2008 12:01

Lol Kitty!
After Finn bashed his nose, I was chatting to our fish monger and
he said
Oh has he broken his nose,
I said
no it's just a bruise
He said
Did you take him to the doctor to check?
I said
No he didn't cry enough did not seen to bother him
He said
My lad did that aged 17 mths, his was broken and it never looked as bad as your lads
Ooops
Gosh we are careless with our cherubs aren't we?
Did take him to A+E when he had high temp and rash though...

Do I have a spare Kitty, what a spare bugaboo laying around? umm well I have a skoady old chassis with rusty wonky squeaky wheels.
Not great.
Am scouring ebay think we will get on insurance but will take ages...

fitfox · 09/04/2008 14:01

Polarmossy - what a crap experience - i am glad bertie is ok but on your behalf about the silly comments about BFing

i love BF poos

Piffle - oh dear - i bet dp is in the dog house now!!!! We have a fleet of buggies - sorry you are not near enough to pop in and get one

Kitty - lol at "washing machines" - how many clothes washes do you do a week with 6 DCs

not sure on relationship front - slightly improved but not great

kittywise · 09/04/2008 18:31

Foxy A WEEK? A WEEK? ROFL

Actually I do three loads a day and that is with a 9kg drum, hey ho.

shanks313 · 09/04/2008 20:19

Still here.....just

Due date is tomorrow by scan date and that is the one the midwife is going by.

Saw midwife yesterday and she had a prod...now thinks the baby may be breech.
If I go into labour before tomorrow morning we have to go straight to the hospital. In the morning Im booked for a scan and review so will know more then.If its breech then im guessing it will be c-section.

Been spending a family time with dh and Deanna the last 2 days,we went to a soft play yesterday and today and also swimming.I keep thinking my waters are going to break as so much pressure.

Hope everyone is okay

fitfox · 09/04/2008 20:35

Shanks - good luck with the scan tomorrow [hugs] it'll be reassuring for you to see whether babe is breech or not - just think you will be cuddling that baby soon!!!

Kitty - 3 a day, thats 21 washes a week!!! - all those small socks!!!

kittywise · 09/04/2008 21:03

shanks good luck, fingers crossed

Foxy I have an entire washing basket dedicated to socks who have lost their little sock friends (all together now....ahhhhhh). I could open a sock shop!!

Once a week I sit down and try to play match the sock. I know I shouldn're care , just let them wear odd ones, but I do care

Divastrop · 09/04/2008 21:12

good luck shanks

i do 3 loads of washing a day,but i only have a 5kg washer(which i overload).i have an odd sock pile as well and a weekly sock match-up after which the leftovers get thrown away.

i cannot cope with teething baby anymore.i need sleep

Piffle · 09/04/2008 21:26

shanks c section depends on what type of breech, don't be bullied it can be done safely - my exp and his wive their son was born feet first, three stitches only. Good luck will be thinking of you and hoping all goes ok.

Washing hmm like kitty I have a huge drawer foll of mateless socks, I now buy
dd = long white tesco socks
ds1 long black tesco socks
dp long blue tesco socks
me long brown socks (I'm too sexy)
Finn well he gets license as his are cute!
But even with that system a revolt is being staged
Dp whines - ds1 has nice thick black socks.
Ds1 whines I'm sick of black socks
DD asks, please some pink ones please
Guess who I'm listening too?

Washing erm 1-3 loads every 1-3 days, man is mine ORGANISED, I have such a system on the go...

TheBlonde · 09/04/2008 21:33

Good luck Shanks!

fitfox · 09/04/2008 22:12

piffle pmsl at your sox!!

kittywise · 09/04/2008 22:37

Ah, but I opt for luverly coloured socks to brighten up the drudgery

fitfox · 10/04/2008 09:17

LOL!! Does anyone use those little net bags to put their DCs socks in? My lodger gave me one to put Monti's socks in so that pairs don't get parted from one another

fitfox · 10/04/2008 09:22

Ok we have:

Me: Next or M&S cute pink patterend socks
DH: Sports socks
DS1: "cool" logo socks or plain grey for school
DD: fuschia pretty socks or for school white short ones with butterflies
DS2: the cutest little Dennis the Manace socks and ones with diiy dinosaurs on

Divastrop · 10/04/2008 11:52

i kept getting my socks mixed up with ds1's(he is a size 5 feet)in the winter.as soon as march arrives i wear sandals, even if its snowing.

fitfox · 10/04/2008 12:56

Diva are you wearing sandals now then? I'm still in my winter boots (warm and cover my legs nicely - boots look so much nicer than legs)

kittywise · 10/04/2008 13:39

My feet underwent a horrible change during the last pg. They now look like hobbit feet but without all the hair. They used to be so dainty and slender, the one part of my body I actually liked!

Piffle · 10/04/2008 13:45

scholl heel repair cream
slather it on 2 x a day
h it works
also on gnarly knees too

now that the skin is smooth, I need to sort the hairiness out LOL
Then the fake tan

kittywise · 10/04/2008 14:28

It's not just the gnarled appearance piff, they've sort of spread out iyswim!
