Eids its sleet here in London!! Hi to your DD nearly 1 and your two other lovely DDs

Kitty - I think your DP is right as the planning proposals would come up in any LA search although some people might not be put off by it and might be attracted by other factors. People in my family have managed to sell properties despite dodgy searches becoming apparent during the selling process. When my parents split up they sold their house despite the fact that the house next door was subject to a planning application to become a remand hostel!!!! The couple who bought it have been very happy there.

eidsvold · 22/03/2008 11:35

oh - so I better not tell you about our sunny days with 28 degree temps It was raining on and off throughout the week though. We took the dds for a bushwalk on thursday and it rained just after we got inside to the cafe on our return. Good timing.

kiwibella · 22/03/2008 17:29

Foxy... thankfully we didn't get the sleet until after lunch... so we sent our kiwi-kids out to collect chocolate in the dubious weather. The intermittent sunshine is lovely.

Kitty - shame about the housing situation. Will it mean that you have to stay put? Does your dp not even want to give it a try? Do you agree with this decision? Look at all those question marks .

Eids have a fabbo time with your family!! Only 28 degrees

Piffle · 22/03/2008 19:45

oh snow here on and off all day. Nothing settling. Bloody cold. Good news too Finns nursing strike appears to be over!!!

spongecake · 22/03/2008 21:08

hi everyone, plan to catch up on posts later. snow here all day, either a blizzard or pretty floaty flakes, but non stop. ds is one now, and has been celebrating by waking up in the night and early morning. he doesn;t sleep really during the day. am so tired i have to keep sloshing water on my face. ended up baking cookies at 8.00am as ds was wide awake and i had to keep moving to saty awake and guard the house from him
must get on and read the posts

TheBlonde · 22/03/2008 21:48

Eids - at your weather

Piffle - DD had her bday today too but is alas still awake and yelling intermittently

kittywise · 22/03/2008 22:24

Happy birthday lovely babies!!!!!

Piff I can do nothing. I am practising being stoic

It has been snowing and sleeting here all day. It has settled a bit this evening. I do hope it snows a bit over night, the kids would love it

Callieco · 22/03/2008 22:43

Snow? Snow???? Blimey, you go away for a week.... Hello from Malaga! We had a big storm on Thursday which was quite dramatic (particularly for DP, as he was attempting to land in it, or rather the pilot of his plane was - he had to come five days after me because he got terrible trots the day we were due to leave, bless) but I have to say I was sunbathing next to the pool this lunchtime.... sorry. Actually, we are being a bit optimistic with our clothing some of the time, as despite being the Med it is still only March but still. We've done a house exchange, and this is their second home - with aforementioned pool, villa with terrace, big private garden. I have tried to explain to the people that we live in the ghetto, but fortunately they´ve been to our part of town before so I'm just assuming they know roughly what they're getting!

Anyway, time for bed - long day and after one glass of cava I'm pissed. Oh dear, really must cultivate a drinking habit again. Back to Blighty on Monday, catch you all next week.

eidsvold · 23/03/2008 10:56

had a lovely day - the dds got spoilt by my aunt as usual BUT it was lovely to just sit and chat and eat instead of running around after the dds. My cousins who are late teens early 20's took it upon themselves to entertain the dds - as well as my aunt who just adores the girls.

Dd3 had a lovely day - well as much as can be expected for 1. Still have to make the family cake so we are doing another cake tomorrow!!

Then dh and I need to crack on and sort out dd3's bedroom. We need to finish our front sun porchy kind of area and put the pc back then rip up carpets, paint walls and floor and then I just need to make new soft furnishings for dd3's room - a little less baby and more little girl style to do her for a few years.

Finally then we can get our room back. Dd3 has stayed in our room the longest. The other two were out by 9 months. Having said that I am sure dd3 would have been out earlier had her room been sorted.

Piffle sorry to hear Finn was not well. not good for birthday!

Divastrop · 23/03/2008 16:06

happy easter all

and happy belated birthdays to the 3 birthday babies

kitty-i get the impression your dp isnt taking this splitting up thing seriously.is the house in both your names or just his?can you get the ball rolling yourself?maybe you should put your name down on the council list and threaten to move to a dodgey area to shock him into moving his arse

callie-sounds like you are having fun.its not snowing where i am,its sunny but bloody cold.

piffle-finn wasnt well on his birthday.at least he's back on the boob now though.

Elsie isnt drinking any milk hardly.i think its her ears.

wheres mossy?

dh has formed his own guild on WoW.i'm taking a vow of silence...he says all i do is moan but i really cant think of anything positive to say about that.

kiwibella · 23/03/2008 17:45

happy birthday babies!!!

we had lots of snowfall today... nothing settled... and now it is brilliant sunshine... bizarre. No need for a swimsuit tho - lucky you, Callie .

Diva ... sometimes it is just easier to say nothing . Hopefully change won't be a long time coming for you, Kitty.

Sponge... thankfully, we are coming out the other side of sleepless nights... it is really hard to keep going - hope you have been baking chocolate cookies

Piffle... how is Finn today? I'm glad that Emmy is better.

Hubs and I are getting there... we are talking loads more but I have to do most of the enquiring to know what is going on. He is irresponsible with money and I don't know whether it is a head in the sand reaction or he is just blind. We are up the proverbial creek without a paddle. I still think that it is best that I go home with the girls but I am holding off that chat and hoping and praying for a windfall light at the end of the tunnel change.

question about milk: Kate won't drink cows milk in a cup (she is fine on cereal or dairy products)???? She just refuses it. I would like to start reducing her formula - can I mix it? What do you suggest? How long can she continue drinking formula?

OP posts:
kittywise · 23/03/2008 18:16

kiwi, yes I'd start mixing the formula if you want to. I say this but dd3 (2) is STILL on formula because i can't be bothered to wean her on to cows' milk, so take no notice of me!

Divastrop · 23/03/2008 20:44

Elsie is still on formula, she wont drink cows milk either.in fact, she's only had 4oz of formula all day today

dd2 hasnt drunk any milk atall since she was 13months.she went onto cows milk at 11 months but then just stopped drinking it.does cadbury's dairy milk still have a glass and a half of milk in it?if so she should be ok.

the older 3 all went onto cows milk at 10/11 months(just refused formula from that age so i thought it was better than nowt)and all 3 still drink planty of milk.why are the lo's such awkward buggers darlings?

kittywise · 23/03/2008 22:31

Diva, dd3 ( drinks over a pint of formula a day. She is a big fat heifer . Infact she has boobs!!!!
Ronnie has boob hourly STILL but he also has about 12oz of formula a day, plus solids and he's STILL a skinny racing snake .
At least he's worked out how to get down the stairs backwards now so I just let him roam around the houser (lazy mother)

kiwibella · 24/03/2008 10:22

kitty lazy mother - no way!!!

I'm glad that Kate is not the only one refusing cows milk. She still feeds probably two hourly - that's three 6oz bottles and the rest breast. Although for the last two nights she has slept through from 9-6.

Forumla is so damn expensive.

It's snowing again - and it must be cold still... people are wrapped up snugly as they walk past .

fitfox · 24/03/2008 11:40

Mornin all
and Happy 1st Birthday to everyone for yesterday mini-Eids, mini-Blonde and Finn!!

Monti is on 34 hourly BFs in the day and 23 hourly BF at night

Haven't even tackled coes milk but he just hates bottles and will only succumb to a bottle if he is a real starver!!

Callie - where do you get your house swaps from? I have doen swaps with my sister many times and would be really interested in doing some. Do you use the MN Forum or one of the main ones? Any advice you could give about them?

We went down to Wiltshire yesterday to see my family and had a lovely time - lots of Cava for moi and for the kids, they had an egghunt and played with their bigger cousins

Having a laid back, trying to keep snug, day tofay while the snow falls outside

We are going on a £19.50 Sun Holiday next week to Normandy - will have to take lots of jumpers and wellies but it should be fun anyway They have loads of facilities for kids there

Hope everyone is keeping well

TheBlonde · 24/03/2008 19:03

Hope everyone had a nice Easter and all the birthday babies had fun

I have spent almost 5 hrs on Oxford St today and bought nothing

We have just switched DD to cows milk today
I am stopping bf this week, feel a bit guilty as I fed DS for longer but there we go

TheBlonde · 24/03/2008 19:04

Piffle - someone was after you on this thread mumsnet.com/Talk/9/501321?rnd=1206384854485&reverse=1

spongecake · 24/03/2008 21:57

kitty lol at you letting ronnie roam the house- i am the same with ds, although he likes to check up on me loads-and is slowed somewhat by trying to drag all his toys with him

am trying to get ds off the bf, but he squeals and points/jabs at my boobs. he drinks cows milk, but only a mouthful and usually spits it out. he likes formula though. i offer him both. i need to stop bf, so will be researching threads, any advice welcome as ever

am very as when ds woke me at 6.15am was v loud and praised him for sleeping through since 7.30pm for the first time. turns out dh was up with him twice and didn't want to wake me as i am so tired! i slept through all the yelling - no idea how

just put my wedding dress on ebay. feels really strange and as though my wedding is a just a distant dream, esp if the dress goes

kittywise · 24/03/2008 22:07

How are you feeling now sponge, any better?

spongecake · 24/03/2008 22:17

hi kitty- v nice of you to ask when you have all your worries.. i do feel better- think its def hormonal and have just started a thread on bl weaning. also am too good at stressing about being stressed.

hope things are getting resolved with you- could you release equity and rent out your house until its time to sell?

foxy, v of your hols, sounds lovely just to get away.

muppetisacat · 25/03/2008 10:25

Happy b'day to babies i missed - blonde/eids/piff ... anyone else??

Hope you all had lovely Easter break...

kitty - if you can manage to live seperate lives under the same roof then don't worry about having to move just yet - however... if you want to get on with it then don't just accept what your dp says as being the absolute gospel... you never know what's going to happen with house sales (I speak as a serial house mover ... my dd asked me why i was bothering to plant something in the garden the other day as we never stay anywhere long enough to enjoy it )

Divastrop · 25/03/2008 12:13

sponge-how come you are selling your wedding dress?

i still havent got round to selling that first one i got

i fell asleep on the sofa last night and woke up to find dh holding Elsie and saying he tried to settle her but he thought she wanted a bottle.i didnt even hear her

she is still only having about 4oz a day,but i can see 2 more teeth on their way through so hopefully its just a blip.

i feel a bit crap today.bloody school holidays.
