hi ladies

forgive me for being rude and not seeming like i have read the thread... I have read a fair bit!

Kitty, so pleased for Ronnie, i bet he feels like a weight has been lifted...pardon the pun!

Hope rosy is enjoying Pakistan!

Thanks all for your congrats on the arrival of Cooper. Hes been really good so far ( touch wood) sleeps, feeds every 3-4 hrs, stares at me then goes back to sleep. Rarely cries and compared to Jensen is an angel!! - i know i know, things can change so quickly, but i am relishing the calm times with him at the moment!

Jensen was one on the 18th, we had a little party for him, ( pics on peanutmonkey") cant believe how quickly hes grown up, not helped i know by the arrival of Cooper!

Anyway, i am still about. Love how the thread is still here! hugs to all xxxx

eidsvold · 19/03/2008 21:56

oh Jay - congrats on the birth of Cooper.

have not been on this thread for ages - most of the wee ones would already be one.

Hope you all had a good time celebrating their birthdays.

Things have been manic here in Aus.

Feeling sad in the lead up to dd3's 1st birthday. This is my last babe and she is very quickly becoming a toddler rather than a baby!!

She is even more cheeky than ever. Cruising and desperate to stand all the time. She scared the living daylights out of dh and I the other weekend. I was doing my thing down stairs, dh was upstairs with dd1 and 2. Next thing I realise the baby is quiet - she had only crawled up the internal stairs by herself. 2 part huge staircase!! Dh and I were stunned - she just giggled as dh picks her up.

Piffle · 19/03/2008 21:58

hello all. Sorry had dd very ill all week. Finn on nursing strike although did realize he just hates the right boob. So one boob feeding and about 6 oz of cowsmilk a day. He has 3-4 good feeds of oneboob though and is sleeping through usually....
Dd slowly improving but still not great. ( groundhog day bless her)

Thanks to mossy for text counsel! Glad dh is on the mend. Bertie sounds like proper hard case!

Kiwi things sound really tough honeypie. Is there a way out or is h being a total twonk about everything? I'm sorry things are so crap. Seems lots are having torrid times

Wonder if rosy got to Pakistan ok? Hope kids have been healthy bless her.

Diva- phew !!!!!!
evenhope scary drama

Rizzo hi!!!

Who did I miss? Bethoo how are you?
Where is saz?
So when are you lasses meeting up? Might be able to get there perhaps. Unless anyone fancies a road trip? Lol

bethoo · 20/03/2008 11:04

hi everyone, the preg seems to be ok though will not know til my scan on 31 so counting the days. think it is my hormones but seem to be angry at the world at the moment! i am not usually a confrontational person but i am on the verge of confronting a few people at the mo! i am probably being unreasonable but i am finding it hard to sleep so much it winding me up at the mo!!gggrrr. is it the hormones making me like this? i jsut want t oshut myself away and my belief in human nature has plummeted. really starting to think that majority of people are damm right horrible, apart from you guys!!!

bethoo · 20/03/2008 11:10

sorry for ranting!!
muppet - hope your sis scan goes well. please do let me know how it goes.

i hate the first trimester as we have already lost a few ladies on the oct thread due ot m/c, makes you realise how quickly/easily things can go wrong and i know that statistically a sixth of us will not make it past the first trimester but only a week or two to go i guess and once again i am paraniod about no bump though relieved in a way esp after the amount of crap i have been eating. seem to be living off pot noodles and chocolate spread and peanut butter or peanut butter and strawberry jam on toast!! yes together!!

when can i start introducing little man to peanuts as was going to try him with peanut butte on his toast or should i wait?

i hope that dps/dhs have started to come into line

kitty- have you come to a decision yet? sorry if i am behind in what is goin on there is so much to remember.

Divastrop · 20/03/2008 11:56

hi all

bethoo-i dont take much notice of what ages babies can have what(apart from obvious choking hazards)but im pretty sure they can have everything after the age of one from the allergy pov.

fox-glad to hear things are improving at home.

kitty-in what way is your dp being a wanker?has he made any moves towards selling the house yet?

dd2 went in a bed for the first time last night.its just a toddler bed cos she's pretty small(the others were all in beds by 21 months at the latest),but i need the cot-bed for Elsie who is way too big for the normal cot now.
she is being really cute and sociable now, saying 'hiya' and waving to people, and putting her arms up.i think shes going to be more of a people person than her sister, who just watches as if wondering why everyones so strange.

Piffle · 20/03/2008 11:58

finn loves peanut butter. Had it from 9 mths.

TheBlonde · 20/03/2008 13:30

Bethoo - I think you can give them pretty much anything from 1 year. Mine don't have nuts as DH is allergic but if you don't have allergies in the family then enjoy
I really miss eating nuts, praline chocs, bakewell tart.. yum

What has everyone got planned for Easter?

kittywise · 20/03/2008 16:46

Diva, we were having a tiff and I siad I didn't have time to talk about stuff as I had to get on with the housework as I've got no helper atm . He got angry and said that that wasn't true. he was helping, his mum was helping. So I said it wasn't enough to enable me to look after the house and kids.
He then said that it was my fault that i didn't have any help
My lovely mother's help had to leave 2 months early as she was having trouble with her accomodation.

I asked how it could be my fault and he said I should have got someone else in by now .
I've registered with 3 au pair agencies, paid fees and have joined another job website.
I have spent bloody ages emailing and vetting and interviewing people these last 2/1/2 weeks and he has done f*ck all to help me.

These last few days he has done the afternoon school run for me.

Anyway I started screaming at him and then I realised he was a t*sser and that I actually didn't care what he thought as it was a load of old bollocks anyway .

So I just went about my businees and haven't mentioned it since.

I rather like this not caring stuff, it's very liberating. I always used to take things to heart and get very upset, now I don't

kittywise · 20/03/2008 16:52

bethoo, sorry you are feeling crap but it's good sign

Piff you've really had a run of illness haven't you. Is your dd any better now? Hope so .

Jay excel;;lent news that cooper seems to be a chilled out babe. You certainly deserve it after last time. Fingers crossed that he continues to be .

Diva, Ron says 'eh oh' when the teletubbies come on and screams REALLY LOUDLY when running round the house!
I daren't put dd3 in a big bed, I need sleep!!!!!

Muppet how did you sis get on with her scan, good news I hope?

fitfox · 20/03/2008 17:09

Jay - Cooper sounds lovely

Diva - Monti has just started waving - its so cute. There used to be a delayed reaction, so he would start waving goodbye after people had left, but he now does it quickly so he can join in goodbyes etc

Blonde we have NO PLANS for Easter - yipee!! We'll do Easter Egg hunt at Kew Gardens if its not pouring and will prob visit my family in west country but apart from that, lots of chilling

Eids - that is so scarey isn't it, when they climb up the stairs mountain on their own!!

Climbing stairs is one of Montis fave activities

Kitty - oh how annoying is your DP? Its good he is doing the school run but he's not excactly very hands on in general is he?

bethoo · 20/03/2008 18:30

thanks everyone, ran out of bread today but i guess he can try peanit butter on crackers. hope he likes it with jam/chocolate spread too!!

bethoo · 20/03/2008 18:31

he seems ot love bratwursts too. he should be german!!!

oooohh hollyoaks is on, gotta go catch you soon

muppetisacat · 20/03/2008 20:04

Hooray... feeling quietly optimistic... my sis had great scan... so pleased for her . All dates still tally up so hopefully last week in september I could have my first neice or nephew

She also saw a consultant who just told her she was doing all she could right and just to keep taking the aspirin... she was just blown away to see the little mite wriggling away inside ... can't wait to see the scan pics... god... get me getting all excited

kitty - sorry your (d)p is being an arse. Sometimes the stoic approach is the best philosophy... certainly stops you wasting energy over stuff you can't change or better.

bethoo - I'll have to tell my sis to join the october thread! She doesn't really know about mumsnet yet!

kittywise · 20/03/2008 22:06

Excellent news muppet. That 12 weeks scan is so magicl isn't it. I remember not believing the change from the 8 week blob to the 12 week little human being. Oh all broody now < slap on wrist>

bethoo · 20/03/2008 22:34

i hate morning sickness or should i say evenign sickness???? aaaaaarggggggggggghhhh

do not know what else to eat as everything looks so unappetising now!!!

Divastrop · 21/03/2008 16:42

muppet-excellent news about your sisters scan

kitty-dd2 was a pain last night, she kept getting up and running around and throwing stuff into Elsies cot so i had to bring her downstairs.she didnt go to bed untill 9,and they have been up since 6.15 this morning.

so has (d)p done anything constructive re. the house yet?

bethoo-i got evening sickness with the dd's,maybe you are having a girl

i havent watched hollyoaks since i was about 19.its depressing, all those young skinny women!i am fed up with being fat now.i thought it was the medication causing it but i didnt really lose any weight when i came off it.i am doing more excersise than last year-i mean, proper excersise now rather than just yoga, and i havent exactly been eating any more than i was when i lost the weight after having Elsie(apart from today whn i got pissed off and had the equivalent of 2 easter eggs).i weight the same now as i did a week after giving birth(which is the same as i weighed when i was about 24 weeks pregnant).i am just destined to be old and fat.

bethoo · 21/03/2008 16:46

Diva - do not think i could cope with a girl!! fears of having the same relationship with her as i do wiht my mum which was not a nice one!!! also having another boy would be better as would not have to buy any clothes and stuff. really not into pink frilly dresses!!!

Divastrop · 21/03/2008 16:53

ugh,i dont do pink frilly dresses.yuck.the lo's live in leggings atm,so much more practical.and i am doing my best to make sure i dont have the same relationship with my dd's as i did with my mother...i tend to praise them now and again and explain that i shouted because i have pmt,not because they are naughty children...

(bitter and teisted,me?)

kittywise · 21/03/2008 18:04

Diva have a look at this big families thread

No he has done zilch I fear it is going to take a long, long, long time.

Oh blimey the sky has just gone pitch black, it's been really sunny all day, where did that come from ?

kiwibella · 21/03/2008 22:10

oh dear Kitty - it's frustrating how long some men can take to sort the important things out.

I've had a peek at the big families thread that you suggest... I'm surprised by how many there are!! I would love 4... two made, two to go (fingers crossed). I sometimes wonder how I would manage???

Diva Bethoo ... leggings are so practical but dresses are soooo cute. I did a spree on ebay a while back and got some lovely hand-me-down dresses... nothing frilly here .

Piffle... how is Emmy?? Poor thing has been poorly this year.

Yay Muppet - I'm pleased that your sister's scan was ok and your family can be really excited for your newest member.

This weather is miserable... I am sure we had tiny snow flurries this afternoon. The wind is awful and soooo cold. We have an Easter egg hunt planned in the West End of London tomorrow - eek - I'm praying that it stays dry.

Oooh can't look at Big Families thread - I would get far too

DD loves dresses- not frilly ones though. Cotton dresses are great for summer - just slip them on then chuck 'em in machine afterwards

kittywise · 22/03/2008 10:52

Had a talk with dp about moving out and he said we won't be able to sell the house for the next couple of years. It's complicated but there is a big development about to start over the road from us, a football stadium actually and although it will be a popular house once the stadium is built no one will want to live here whilst the works are going on

eidsvold · 22/03/2008 11:00

oh kitty did not realise things were not good for you. What a pain!!

dd3 is one tomorrow. Can't believe a year has gone already. Soon there will be no more babies in the eidsvold house. We usually go to my aunt's for easter sunday brunch. She does a fab spread and the dds ( 1 and 2) get to have an easter hunt. Get spoilt rotten, tonnes of eggs and have a blast. Then we get to take them home SO we are still going but having a cake for dd1 when we are there. Am also doing a cake just for us to have at home tomorrow night. Cake for brunch is a square cake covered in sweets to look like a photo frame with a pic of dd3 in the middle. One for home is a 1.

Hope all are having an okay Easter. Been okay here.

See those of you in London are due some snow!!!! Not too much I hope.
