I was tempted to write the subject with reference to NM .

kiwibella · 25/03/2008 16:36

Diva - I hope that you pointed out where the bottles and formula are .

Sleepy mummies!! Hope that you had a good rest Sponge.

I can't imagine selling my wedding dress. I am such a horder though. I have these romantic notions about MissE using it.

Kate has been up since 5am today - I got grippy at hubs who brought her in to bed. He goes back to sleep while she climbs all over me so I end up getting up with her grrrr.

These different school holidays are confusing.

kittywise · 25/03/2008 17:41

We don't have school hols for another 2 weeks

Ronnie was in with me last night kiwi and I couldn't sleep properly as I was so worried about him falling off the bed and breaking another arm!!

Taking the kids (1,2 and 3) to London on Friday, taking them out of school, they want to go to the 'bluddy tower'. bet book the tickets so I don't have to queue up.

Callieco · 25/03/2008 21:15

Foxy - we registered with HomeExchange.com. Think it cost us about £45 ish but is probably cheaper now cos you pay in dollars and the rate is even lower than when we jonied last year. We've had loads of offers - so far we haven't made any ourselves, haven't needed to. We're going to Brittany in the summer for two weeks. Most of the offers have come from France and the US, but have had them from Spain (obviously!), Belgium and even one for Oz in two years time.

Happy birthday to all the birthday boys and girls.

fitfox · 25/03/2008 21:21

Diva - are yours on hols too then? (Catholic school syndrome)

Kitty we are around on Friday if you have a chance to pop in!! Nearest tube is Kew Gardens on District Line - if you have time for a cuppa I'll e-mail you the address

DCs have swim lesson at 11am but that's all we have planned

Piff I remember with DS1 (who refused to take bottle, but I had to wean) I took the approach that if he was hungry enough he would take it - took 2/3 days of persevering and him pulling "oh she is poisoning me" faces each time he tried the bottle, but he loved it eventually once he realised boobs were out of bounds.

Had a stressful day:

Woke at 6.30am to get DCs ready to leave house at 8am

drive across London to single jabs clinic for DDs Measles jab in Kent

drive to my new dentist for a consultation on having a corrective brace

quick visit to McD's for lunch (post jab treat) and Wooolworths for post jab toy-bribe

Drive back across London, BF Monti and then dashed to Hospital in Surrey for operation on a tooth.

All med visits went exceedingly well and when I got home there was a message from holiday company saying there is no electricity in campsite, therfore they have to move us (probably meaning its under booked). The long and short of it is we are getting a much better holiday, in upgraded luxury accomodation, 4 hours less drive, indoor pool (yipee), much more facilities etc and close to Paris (I feel my shopping antenna twiching already). Am so pleased as it will be really comfy and relaxed - much better than the original venue.

Oh I soooooooo much need a holiday

fitfox · 25/03/2008 21:25

Oooh thanks for that link Callie - I will deffo have a look. I need to find much more affordable hols now we have the three DCs - since we had the first two we were doing packages in Italy/Morocco/Tunisia etc but it just gets so expensive once numbers go up...

kittywise · 25/03/2008 21:59

Hi Foxy, well I'm baulking a bit at the 'bluddy tower' as it's v. expensive, so might take them to the nat hist again so that would be easy to get to you from?

fitfox · 25/03/2008 22:16

Kitty - Science Museum even better than Nat History but they are both at South Kensington and that's the same line as Kew Gardens. Are you coming via Victoria? Aso very easy from here.

[Glug, Glug, Hic!]

kiwibella · 26/03/2008 10:06

oops Kitty - I was going to say that it is cheaper to buy tickets for the tower online!! The kids area at the Science museum is fab... I am sure yours will love it. Best of all, it's free .

I bet Ronnie had a great sleep while you were restless, worrying all night!!

Apparently (and I take it with a grain of salt), Kate was up every half hour last night ... I heard her a couple of times and I saw hubs up with her the once. Maybe it was more???? But, up for the day at 5:30 again .

Foxy - what a busy day for you all... hope everyone is ok after their medical attention. I was thinking about McDs this morning... it's been so long since we had it so MissE must be in for a treat sometime soon .

She is turning 12 on Friday - last night I asked her what she would like for a present. She is easily pleased... a day off school (which she is not getting!!!).

evenhope · 26/03/2008 15:10

Poor little DD had had the sickness & vomiting bug for the 3rd time since Xmas Today was the first day since last Thursday she looked herself. She's gone back to nursery today and I've come home sick from work. If she had the crampy stomach pains I've got now no wonder she's been so miserable.

I hate seeing her ill, and it doesn't help to know we are paying £30 a day to nursery for her not to be there Makes me worried how it'll work when she's there full time.

She was christened on Easter Sunday and managed to hold onto the explosive poo until after her starring moment DH and DM did leave me stuck out in the disabled loo with her wondering how I was going to clean her (and the surroundings!), keep her dress out of it and her feet out of it and get another nappy on...

Foxy where in Kent did you have your single jab?

Divastrop · 26/03/2008 21:34

evenhope-(((hugs))) for dd.i hope shes better soon.i cant believe you still have to pay when she's off sick

Elsie is off her milk totally atm.i hope she isnt going to do the same as dd2 did

on that subject, can anyone help this mummy ?(12 month old formerly bf baby refusing bottle)

spongecake · 26/03/2008 21:34

evenhope, your poor dd, hope she is feeling better soon
foxy, did your doctors help you find a clinic or were you on your own? mine just wobble on about "rogue" vaccines to scare me into having mmr.
diva, am selling dress as its just hanging in the wardrobe and it represents CASH..am accountant at heart- also it takes up space. i won;t wear it again. have also put my wedding shoes on there
kiwi, i have a ds, and hopefully he won;t want to wear it ever people do seem surprised i am selling it- its just practical reasons. i am romantic really, i have the models from the cake by my bed

kiwibella · 27/03/2008 12:47

hehe Spongecake!! good reasoning... garments sold means less clutter too.

Poor dd, Evenhope. I hope that you are feeling better today and don't come down with the same illness. It's ironic that you are paying the nursery which is where she is probably picking these bugs up. Anyways... hopefully she is on the mend now.

spongecake · 27/03/2008 21:49

where is everyone?

muppetisacat · 28/03/2008 12:02

Sorry to hear about poorly babies. Get well soon to everyone!

No news here - tis the most disgusting weather... just want to hibernate.

Piffle · 28/03/2008 12:41

no time to read. Finn very ill indeed chest infection, double ear infection. I've had about 5 mind of sleep in three days. Feeling ropeable with tiredness. Finn may end up in hospital if no improvement in 24 hrs.
Will be back to read more soon. Love to all get well to all sickies x x x

TheBlonde · 28/03/2008 17:21

Piffle - hope LO is better soon and you get some kip

Hope the other poorly babies improve

Not much sleep here due to the arrival of tooth no 4

Sponge - do you have a link to your dress? I am nosey!

fitfox · 28/03/2008 19:41

Piffle - oh I am worried about Finn - how is he this evening?

Poor little mite

Evenhope - sorry to hear your DD has had the horrible Vom bug 3 times. Well done to her and you though for getting through her christening, - did you have a party afterwards for all the rellies?

Even/sponge - I could open the website for DH2000 where we get our jabs done, but there are details on this site:

www.autismlondon.co.uk/pdf-files/factsheets/016_Single_Vaccine_Practices.pdf

The cost is now £80, not £40 as the site says. They have outreach clinics across the south east I think, although we always travel to Eltham. The clinic have a very good reputation and people travel from as far as Birmingham to go there.

bethoo · 28/03/2008 20:04

Piffle - hope Finn is improving.

Divastrop · 28/03/2008 20:04

piffle-hope finn picks up soon and doesnt have to go into hospital.
dd2 had to go in with a chest infection the day after her 1st birthday but she made a miraculous recovery and was totally fine by the next morning.
hopefully finn will do the same if he does have to go in

nowt much happening here apart from me wishing the dc back to school and worrying about Elsie's refusal to drink any milk atall.

Piffle · 28/03/2008 20:28

thanks for messages. Finn is on antibiotics 3x a day plus regular calpol ibuprofen to keep pain st bay so he sleeps. Was told to up breastfeeds (hooray for good lady doctor who fed her twins til 2.5 yrs)
Since regular pain relief he is more friendly but wiped out at 6pm and has been asleep since. So hopefully hexrests and recovers. Will tuck him in with me if restless tonight.
Dp is off to Turin on Sunday morning til Tuesday night so will deal with it alone!
doc said Finn didn't look very ill, she was shocked when she heard his chest and saw his ears. He's a tough cookie and still ate a whole cheese omelette for tea!
he is really 100% back to breastfeeding which has made me very happy!
also he is getting molars or next teeth!!! He has had 8 teeth from about 9 mths... He seems very early with it... Goes with the appetite!
so much to catch up on will read now

kittywise · 28/03/2008 20:32

Piff, sorry about Finn, hugs to him, poor little chap. Drink the wine Piff, drink the wine
How's the pelvis and bowen stuff getting along?
I'd tried the funwall link on facebook you sent but my computer won't open FB at the mo

How's things going Diva? We haven't got hols for another whole week but ds1 goes on school journey all next week and I shall miss him terribly. Who will make me cups of tea?

Took 1,2 and three up to London to the museums today, it was good but tiring

fitfox · 28/03/2008 22:37

Piffle I like your GP and am very impressed with her feeding twins for 2.5 years!!!

Love to little Finn and lets hope all that sleep helps him recover quickly [hugs]

Kitty glad you had a good day. Is this DS1's first school trip? Am a bit apprehensive about my DS1 going on his first trip next year!!

Its a real milestone isn't it?

Diva - have you got next week off school too? We are going on our Sun Holiday - 4 nights in fabby campsite in France, with loads of facilities/entertainment - all for £19.50 each incl ferry . We haven't been away for 18 months so I am tres excited

kittywise · 29/03/2008 07:51

Foxy, yes, but he went on a cub camp last year so is a bit of an old hand

fitfox · 29/03/2008 12:05

Oooh am thinking of signing DS1 up with cubs/scouts. There is one very close to us but he needs to be eight (he is currently seven and three quarters!)

Piffle - how is little Finn today?

Piffle · 29/03/2008 16:01

Finn slept pretty well!!! He has been on military regular meds though and this has helped.
its all on his chest now very congested and thick... But he is coping ok and breathing is fine. Still smiling a bit.
am having tough time explaining to dp how desperate I'm feeling about things atm
hate this house, its location and his job. Every weekday am woken by him 5am as he gets up for work. I'm shattered and extremely hostile. And being quite cruel and things are coming out the wrong way ... Have been in tears lots today.
I never wanted to raise 3 kids alone and it feels like that.
I'll get over it. I'm going to get tipsy tonight anyway.
on the upside dd has been put on the gifted talented register st school. Knew she was getting on well but apparently she is doing yr2-3 maths work easily???
Told dp the kitchen isn't always clean and I am messy but I do produce genius kids so lay off not sure he bought that, no doubt it was his gene pool donation that caused it
Right must dash and eat the cheese scones I just made yum!!!!!
kitty Bowen was ok. Think my lass was a bit of a charlatan though but have top physio nhs dude onto it now and am much better!
