hello everyone - sorry I've been a bit crap lately. We've been illing here and I've been majorly fed up with everything so didn't want to whinge at you lot. I will try and catch up - hope all are well

Jay - good luck!

Piffle · 03/03/2008 21:18

Saz good to see you back sorry about ills. The joy of children

muppetisacat · 04/03/2008 10:52

jay - more birthing ball jiggling?? nipple twiddling???

piff - you've had more than your fair share of bugs recently - hope you all get better and won't be due anything now for the rest of the year.

Piffle · 04/03/2008 12:53

Rosylily · 04/03/2008 18:32

spicemonster shame you are struggling and think you should whinge all you like here and get it off your chest.
Jay much sympathy it is such a drag at the end i wonder when you'll pop....it'll happen!
Sponge maybe you need something to look forward to? Are you okay or bit down?
Piffle get some natural yoghurt in you poor thing.
I will probably be the same very soon- i am heading to pakistan in a couple of weeks for three weeks
I'm still on the mobile here.....
I used to play mika constantly when pregnant with hasan. I played it again after ages and he went mad dancing!

Rosylily · 04/03/2008 18:36

it's weird writing on this phone.

Piffle · 04/03/2008 20:15

I know rosy I type on DPs iPod touch. As I am now. Takes some getting used to

fitfox · 04/03/2008 21:16

Jay - any action? I was 10 days late and wouldn't let them induce me but I did have sweep which did the jobby

?

Its Monti's birthday on Thursday BTW!!!!

Jaysthird · 04/03/2008 21:31

hey ladies - nothing as yet

I had a chat with the midwife this morning. Who was a little concerned that babies movements had slowed a bit over the past three days so off i went to the Maternity assessment unit where i was monitored for over an hour shock how boring!!! Anyway, lo's all ok, heartbeat good, movements there. Also MW there asked me if i wanted a sweep with her rather than the consultant tomorrow - of course i said!! wish i hadn't - am not that 'favorable' only 1cm dilated... cervix still high and still thick....FOR GODS SAKE.... I AM A WEEK OVERDUE, you'd think it would have started to 'thin' out....anyyyyyway still have to see the consultant tomorrow, will arrange another sweep before any other induction talk!

Also so had my third acupuncture session this evening, god she really gave it to me!!! Feels like something really has been done to me! - time will tell!!!

At this rate the new baby ( dont know the sex) will be born on Jensens birthday (18th March)!!!!

Thanks for all your thoughts and positive vibes ladies, nice to still be part of the 'team!'

Rosylily · 04/03/2008 21:39

piffle those ipods look amazing. This is a much less sophisticated thing but we still don't understand half of what it does!
Foxy wow monti is almost one. Where on earth did the year go?
Though it is hard to imagine being about to give birth as we were last year and jay and shanks are there again (wow)

Rosylily · 04/03/2008 22:04

oh yes i forgot jensen was born after hasan why did i think it was sunday (doh!)
Keep us posted jay it's exciting!you can go from 1cm to 10 very quickly with a third labour, i wouldn't worry about that! You could start labour any moment! And have your baby a few hours later Woohoo!

kittywise · 05/03/2008 07:24

jay, I was like you the day I went into labour with Ronnie, high, posterior cervix, it means very little!

When labouring with dd3 I went from 2 -10 cm in 20 mins

You never can tell, try to chill

muppetisacat · 05/03/2008 10:45

Samuel is 1 today

He has a big chocolate cake with far too many chocolate buttons on it... never fear i will help him eat it!

get better soon piff - I think you should all decamp somewhere hot and sunny.

Jay - I've said it b4 and I'll say it again.... nipple twiddling Seriously though, really feeling for you...

rosy - good to hear from you again - must be weird typing through the phone though

bethoo · 05/03/2008 11:16

Happy birthday to Samuel

Piffle - i hope you and the family are on the road to recovery. you have certainly been through the wars.

Jay - all i can say is that since you have reached the 40 weeks mark and beyond it is really just a matter of any day now. the longer he is in there the bigger he is going to get!!! LOL

AmieR · 05/03/2008 13:44

Wow Jay! That seems crazy but exciting too! Hope the assessment goes well!

Hope everyone else is doing well with there LO's as birthdays come and go! Joe's went well, almost a month ago now! We're having eating issues at lunch time at the moment, but he's eating well at other times, just seems pooped at lunch after his morning crawling/pulling up on things, wouldn't be too worried normally but he's still alittle small!

Also, can i pick your brains?

I keep feeling flutterings in my abdomen (likes the ones you feel when you first feel LO's moving when in the womb) been feeling these for a little while now, have had 2 regular periods of late, for me that's good going! BUt have had a small bleed in the middle of my cycles on both. Done a few Tests but negative, feel hungrier than usual, belly appears bloaty to me, but not sure if its paranoia! Also feels DH would think this would be the second immaculate conception... any thoughts on what this could be?

Jaysthird · 05/03/2008 18:05

have posted this on other threads - copy and paste fan!! its a bit longwinded, sorry in advance!!!

just an update for you all!

ok, here goes....Saw my dreary wet blanket of a consultant today. Hes so 'vague' about things. I think he was abit taken aback at my insistancy of no induction and faltered a bit whan i asked where the hospital stood on women refusing them. He dodged the question then went on to draw me some diagrams (?) of the risk of leaving v the risk of induction. I didnt feel like i was getting anywhere with him and almost felt like he wasnt listening to me.

Anyway, i then remembered a trump card.... my due date was taken from my own dates not from the dating scan....(theres only 4 days in it
and hospital policy is to take patients dates if there is less than a week between it and the dating scan....) which basically meant my due date may have been the 1 March, therefore putting me at only 4 days over, rather than 8 with my dates......are you with me so far!!!

So i asked/told him that maybe my dates had been wrong and we should go by the dating scan, therefore giving me more time to play with!!! So he examined me and i am not 'favorable' at the mo, although he did
manage a membrane sweep, so thats two in two days....

So have come away from the appointment semi triumphant, i do have an induction booked for the 13th, next Thursday but it has given me more time to try au natural...also spoke to MW who has arranged for another sweep on Monday, which according to adjusted dates will now be the 7th day over!

All in all a bit of a manipulative day!

Am going to have a vindaloo and some more 'hot' luvin tonight!

Rosylily · 05/03/2008 19:17

happy birthday to samuel!
Jay couldn't help chuckling at your post. Hopefully it'll all happen very soon now!
I was in the bank today to cancel my card i lost and then found it in my purse luckily before she cancelled the card but not before i looked like a total numpty
Amie you have a phantom pregnancy body and i have a phantom pregnancy brain! Maybe get a check up with gp?

fitfox · 05/03/2008 19:51

Happy birthday Samuel!!!

Jay - LOL - at hot lurvin and also that you will soon be holding a gorgeous newborn!!

AmieR - its not wind is it?

Piffle · 05/03/2008 20:35

happy birthday Samuel! Wow not long to go for the rest of us! Is bertie one of the youngest mossy?
I'm a lot better . Little appetite though and have lost three kilos. Dd now has the squits and so does dp. Joy of joys. He smells bad...
anyway jay tonight make sure the nipples get twiddled! Well done for getting more time too!

Jaysthird · 05/03/2008 20:49

awww piff, poor you, sorry you aren't on top form, sending you lots and lots of 'get better soon' vibes xx

spongecake · 05/03/2008 20:54

hi there

bethoo, that was my lest favourite, but glad you enjoying it

jay have they scanned you? my ds wouldn't come out as he was way to big to move, which they would have found out from a scan (not just mw guessing wrong as happened) the induction for 5 days turned out to be a total waste of time- i remember just wanting to have the baby, so hope it goes well for you.

rosy, i am a bit down, there is so much going on here -lots in my head i am sure, but hopefully all will be ok.

am really worried that my snapping and moaning with a horrid moany voice at dh in front of ds will scar him for life. must try not to, but its really upsetting me

bethoo · 05/03/2008 20:58

spongecake - really? i thought it was great. are we talking Lucy Sullivan gets married or Anybody Out there? Lucy one was better though Anybody out there was very sad.

Rosylily · 05/03/2008 21:43

spongecake don't beat yourself up. Everyone goes through bad patches and it is easy to be a perfect mummy when everything is okay. I know how you feel, i was yapping with dh the other day and realised we were upsetting ds2 i thought 'must remember to pretend i like dh in front of the kids'
The children are so much happier when i am happy so they do notice. But don't feel guilty! He'll be fine, just do what you have to do for yourself to be happy and he'll be happy too.

Rosylily · 05/03/2008 21:55

sponge have you got someone to talk to who can help you get everything into perspective? Sounds like you are worried and anxious and stressed.

AmieR · 05/03/2008 22:56

Fox - I did think that! But it seems a long time to be full of flatulence! I have an appointment booked for the earliest date available with my GP... the 18th!

Happy Birthday Samuel!
