Piffle -sorry for your loss, bloody heck it has been a week for us!

well this morning had a breakthrough, i actually had proper morning sickness, i threw up my blueberries and melon! feel as though this could be a good sign that it is going well though not in a hurry to experience that again!!!

good evening to everyone

kiwibella · 24/02/2008 22:36

us three - my mother's fil passed away this week too!! My mum's husband has been here for a few weeks while his father was ill and mum arrived last weekend.

What is with the delay for a funeral here tho... it will be two weeks since he died???

Fortunately for mum, she got to spend Kate's first birthday with us . We had a lovely day with Kate and I even made her a cake - so proud of my effort .

Bethoo... my dad has a King Charles.... they are a delightful breed. If / when we get a dog, that is probably what we will get. Sorry that you were ill this morning but, like you say, it is a good sign - yay.

OP posts:
bethoo · 24/02/2008 22:40

kiwi - the breed is prone to alot of congentital diseases so make sure you check that the puppies parents have been eye and heart tested. our cavalier was from Crufts champs and he had allsorts, something about their popularity so lots of breeders just breeding like there is no tomorrow iykwim?

Piffle · 25/02/2008 09:55

I was savaged by a king Charles once. Think them hideous ratlike creatures!!!
Kiwi sorry to hear of your family loss too. What a dreadful week. About the delay too. Nanan died a week ago today and her funeral is this Thursday. If there is any need for post mortem or coroners query... It can take so much longer.
I'm so freaked I might not be able to go. Finn is snotty and grumpy. Dd is not at all well... AGAIN! Sore throat and neck no temp, very lethargic and sleepy no appetite. I will be gutted beyond words if we cannot goto the funeral. Praying dd improves quickly.
Bethoo congrats? On your morning sickness. Good sign indeed. Were you very sick with hayden?

Divastrop · 25/02/2008 11:44

bella-sorry to hear of your loss also

my nan and grandads funerals were both about 9-10 days after they died, which is strange because catholics are normally buried very quickly.i remember when i went to church as a child they would say that somebody had passed away, say, thursday and the funeral would be on the monday.

piffle-hope all the colds go away soon.

elsie and dd2 are both snotty and coughing, and dd2 has a sore throat judging by the amount she is dribbling.she woke up loads last night(including 3am)which is not like her atall.

Piffle · 25/02/2008 14:50

grim ain't it diva? The biggest downside about more than one small child is when they get I'll. You need more arms legs and heads than you can imagine to cope. Was breastfeeding Finn this am, when heard dd crying and coughing. She was promptly sick with the amount of coughing and I was bad mummy ripping Finn off his boob and not being there when dd needed me! Then had one screaming baby and one big sicky mess to clean up. Chicken pox has been going round the school wonder if it could be that. Both dd and Finn very odd type of ill for them.

bethoo · 25/02/2008 15:58

Piffle - i was nauseas alot with Hayden but only actually threw up once at 14 weeks. i have felt mildly queesy with this pregnancy so hoping all is ok as only 8 weeks today, only 4 weeks to go til have a scan and find out if it is ok. hate the first trimester, so much worrying!!!

kittywise · 25/02/2008 16:28

Sorry for all the sad news this week

We have had a half term of stomach bugs. They are very long lived and the kids are of course passing the baton.

Ron goes for an x ray tomorrow so fingers crossed his stinky, cheesy cast will come off, or at least they could change it! . He has done 6 steps on his own and is very pleased with himself .

Piffle · 25/02/2008 18:06

Hope his arm looks better kitty. Must be very frustrating for you him! Had my first Bowen on Saturday. Noticed precisely nothing cosmic since. She ssid she'll do more on me next week. The spd pain is gone. True relief the physio did a great job. Bad news is the house is filthy after 6 weeks of bare housework so am up to my elbows cleaning it this week! Ick.
Finn also walking about ten steps very well. He can stop and turn too he is very pleased with himself. I've video'd it will pop it on you tube or facebook later!

muppetisacat · 26/02/2008 10:59

kiwi - sorry to hear your loss - I have no idea why things take so long - what sort of funeral will there be?

Piff - i missed my favourite granny's funeral when i was much younger as my car broke down on the way. I finally got home and downed a bottle of wine and felt very sorry for myself... however the next day i reckoned she would have been fine about it all and wouldn't have wanted me to be so stressed about it

bethoo - good signs! my sis is about the same number of weeks gone as you i think - her edd is 1st october. She has to pay for a 12 week scan where she lives if she wants one

Jaysthird · 26/02/2008 13:31

Hi all.........

still here, no baby! Due date today but i know from past that experience that that means sweet FA!! Baby is very low down now,and i can at least breath for the first time in a good few months! Will keep you informed!

I have briefly read the thread,Seems like a lot of sorrow going on, sorry Piffle,Mossy and Kiwi (and others)on the loss of loved ones, its such sad times when these things happen, i console myself with the thought that new spirits are being born into the world daily and who knows sometimes the spirits of old get passed on through to the new ones

Bethoo, @ your morning sickness, its funny how sometimes we accept 'horridness' as a sign of something good. Fingers crossed for you and the rest of your pregnancy, hope all goes really well. It will go by SOO quickly, especially as you have LO to keep you occupied.

Off to see if i can have a snooze now while the monsters are having a nap!

xx

bethoo · 26/02/2008 13:54

muppet - your sister must be nine wee3ks as my EDD i gather is 6 Oct and i am a mere 8 weeks and a little day!

Jay - it is only a matter of days for you now!! get the sleep while you can now!! i have a shit diet of crisps and pot noodle so going to be a bloater in no time at all!!

muppetisacat · 26/02/2008 19:14

jay - great to hear from you - best of luck for the coming days! Are you going for a wopping world breaker this time again . This little one will have his/her work cut out for them to beat Jensen in the weight stakes!!

bethoo - yes my sis is about 9 weeks! It will be major achievement for her to get to a successful 12 week scan! I keep finding myself getting all excited about finally being an auntie... have to keep myself in check!

Very quiet on this thread last few days!

bethoo · 26/02/2008 21:30

Bad mommy alert!!! forgot to say that is is Haydens birthday today!! cant beleive a year to this day i was screaming ot my birthing partner to kill me!!! can i do anothe labour without an epidural??

kiwibella · 26/02/2008 21:33

oh Jay!!! It is so exciting to be waiting for news but I am sure it is not the same sort of exciting for you.

thanks for your condolences... I am not sure what sort of funeral it will be but, despite receiving dubious care, there will not be any further enquiries.

Diva... I was also brought up in a Catholic family so maybe this is why I think that this is a loooong time.

I'm wondering whether lil Ronnie had his cast removed today??? I am very impressed by the littler babies walking so steadily - Kate is just balancing and able to make a couple of steps.

Yay, congrats to your sister muppet... revel in her success this time.... sending lots of good wishes her way x x

at drowning your sorrows in a bottle of wine!! That must have been followed by a rotten hangover?!?!!

Piffle... hope your two littlies are better today... and you are able to stay on top of your tidy house .

kiwibella · 26/02/2008 22:31

I have added some piccies to facebook

OP posts:
Piffle · 26/02/2008 23:21

oh kiwi that one of the kiss is lovely!!!!!!! How sweet!happy birthday hayden... Holy shit they're all going to be one year old very soon! Where did it go? Short speck of time indeed.
Well Finn is walking for real from living room to hall to kitchen!!!! Could have knocked me over with a feather, he has come on bloody quickly. He has no issues with stopping he just slides to the floor in a slow controlled stylee.
jay hope baby comes out soon! This waiting is awful. Anyone heard from shanks?

kittywise · 27/02/2008 07:08

jay, fingers crossed for you. Hope the babe is not even bigger than Jenson (ouch!)

Kiwi the pics are lovely, I particularly like the one with the washing machine! She looks so grown up now. Who is stealing our time? I still think of Ron as a wee baby .

Piff, Ronnie walked down the corridor yesterday! He's a little behind Fin though, I think. He's been severely hampered by the cast ( which is on for another three weeks, boo!!!) and I think he would have been walking about for a while now had it not altered his balance. It's very funny to see his skinny little legs walking!

Happy birthday to Hayden for yesterday! xxx

Where are foxy and rosy?

fitfox · 27/02/2008 10:00

Hi Kitty - that's spooky. Am away on a work jolly and just popped out to come online during a comfort break

Happy birthday Hayden!!

Will try and catch up later but I hope all Mummies and babies are well

fitfox · 27/02/2008 10:02

Oooh Jay - how exciting - will await your good news soon!!!

Jaysthird · 27/02/2008 10:38

Morning all! Well maybe the earthquake did start something in me......having VERY mild contractions, since about 9 this morning. Nothing to get too excited about, i know, as do most of you, that this could stop and start a number of times, will have to get on my ball and jiggle about. Have MW this afternoon, wonder what she will say!

BTW i too am hoping this baby isnt as big as Jensen, although i have been told it is fairly large...

I wonder how Shanks is doing also.....???

Love the pics Kiwi, indeed the washing machine one is so funny. Jensen loves to watch it go round and round, in fact he also loves to pull open the tray/drawer and attempt to removes the conditioner from it! - mind you thats not as bad as him reaching up to the cooker knobs! Have had to babyproof all the bloomin cupboards, something i never did with Harriette, hes a monkey, and when he cant get into something he throws such a temper!

Hope Hayden had a good bday, its party central at the mo, as all my antenatel group are (obviously) celebrating LO's first birthdays also...costing me a fortune!

Laters peeps xx

Piffle · 27/02/2008 11:01

Jay! Woohoo some baby action! Hope it whizzes along painlessly and serenely for you.
Finn is the same with the bloody gas knobs and the cupboards. He had has first taste of dishwasher tablet yesterday and also has terminated more toilet rolls than the andrex puppies. He can get into the washing machine but I keep it closed now as its also where I fling the shitty re useable wipes
He is very cute though and obviously destined for greatness given his concentration levels, determination and stubborness. Add a total refusal to admit defeat and
I think we have a future chess champion! LOL
he is eating unreal amounts of food but gaining sod all weight. He is never still even when sleeping. I am having to boost him with less healthy options as he does not like yoghurt and cheese much. But he still gets 6-7 breast feeds a day and they are 3 two boob ones amongst that. Infact yesterday it was 10 feeds!!!! Also he doesn't chew much. Raisins down in one. He demolishes a box in seconds. Omelette down in one. Needless to say the nappies tell a story!
Right must go iron things for funeral tomorrow. Am not sure about funeral dress protocol in uk. So am being conservative and tidy.

muppetisacat · 27/02/2008 11:05

Get jiggling Jay!

Happy belated birthday to Hayden too!

Have you seen the price of first shoes now!! what do you lot do when they want to get down outside? I am holding off and holding off cos they don't last more than a few weeks - Samuel has to wear wellies (bad mother alert) cos I'm not spending money til I absolutely have to

bethoo · 27/02/2008 11:07

muppet - i get his shoes from Tescos at about £3.50 a pair! but then Hayden is still crawling and quite happy to just stand around grabbing what is close by!
