Are they/Aren't they?
Dippy
Pinions

Work
Pinions has issues with her return to work and her hours are yet to be finalised
Octo made the decision to go back to teaching, as a supply teacher for now
mammyjo was messed around by payroll and overpaid
crossover of uk/spanish public holidays caused problems for Maveta
weeonion is also struggling with issues surrounding her return to work

Babies
Talk about talking
weeonion's C has her first tooth
WCL is tearing her hair out as L is quite literally everywhere
wanky loon HV giving Pesha hassle over D's weight

Everything Else
Eddas made her Buggy Snuggle and it looks fab!
Caz has been asked to talk to teenagers about being a young mum
Oooggs has worries about a planning application right next to Nursery
GMM will be running for DEBRA
Maveta needs to chose a Nursery but with ratios of 1:8 it won't be easy
Maveta is also struggling with other aspects of the Spanish way of life, namely MIL
Hotlipsmummy rejoined the group after being with us during pregnancy, and promptly changed her name to 2hotcrossbunnies in preparation for Easter
Pinions had an op to remove some gremlin moles but is recovering well
Pinions brother has written a rather interesting book (that's the brother that doesn't star in random tv ads )
phdlife popped in to say hi
Pesha went to a party in her wellies and came home very drunk ""maybe a tiddly bit tiddly" by 10pm
Maveta has a new hairdo
Dippy will jump into bed with anyone that offers her a Kinder Egg
Pinions can knit
GMM has her notallowedtotellyou pierced
mj and oooggs had lovely girlie nights out with friends, while SOL took dh with her when she ventured out
GMM has bought a new pushchair
Dippy has stickykeys
KHIN needs (((hugs)))

Meet Ups
We were thinking of multiple meet-ups on same day in May to celebrate birthdays????
NEED TO PROGRESS THIS
Ellie wants to come to Scotland on Feb 15th if they'll have her???

Funny stuff
It was decided that MN is constructive
SPB asked "does it get easier as they get older?" (still pmsl at that one )

Also worthy of note
Octo had more wine leading to this quote -
"Fuck it, bugger working and going to supply and have 4 more children ..."

There were excellent language skills on display in the Liath household .....
"A recent conversation at my sister's house went thus:
Dd - I'm going to bugger off the cat, Mummy.
Me - I beg your pardon?
Dd - I'M GOING TO BUGGER OFF THE CAT MUMMY!
Me -
Dd - Bugger off cat!!
Cat -
I must stop using foul language"

A collaberation between Mr Dippy and NL came up with this new 'lullaby'.....
"Some naughty children didn't go to bed,
Along came a goblin and chopped off their heads.
Their poor parents started to weep,
Because the naughty children wouldn't go to sleep!"
"The naughty children bewailed their fate
But alas and alack it was all too late
The Goblin scarpered, quick as could be
So listen MY naughty children, go to sleep for ME!"

Pesha (or should that be Peesha ) got fed up of not being able to say her own name correctly and has changed it to Mashanapedyjo (Masher for short) thanks to Octo!

justpinions · 24/01/2008 22:18

OMFG.

.

Just seen police have found and rescued 10 children just out of nursery - who have been "trafficked" here from Romania to pick pocket and steal in the UK.The youngest was 12 months FFS!. And there are up to 2000 of them in the UK?

Makes me and puts it all into perspective. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

WestCountryLass · 24/01/2008 22:22

It is a sad day in the WCL house, our pet rabbit Arthur has died. He was most likely eaten by a fox We have a small walled garden and so he lived outside, he had a hutch but we left the door open so he could go in and out as he pleased. Most nights we left him out, it was a 'calculated' risk, we knew he might have been prey for a fox but thought that him being happy and being able to do as he pleased was worth the risk. I went outside this morning to feed him and did not see him, at lunch time I thought I would check up on him and he is not there but there are a few tufts of his fur...

I have just broken DS1s heart telling him that Arthur had died. He cried and cried and cried and then said he wanted to go to bed and he has cried himself to sleep. We did not tell him Arthur was killed but that he was 'probably poorly'. He has sobbed his heart out. Poor Arthur. He did have a good life, he was able to run around and hump his ball whenever he pleased, love him. He was such a fab pet, he was so tame, DD painted him and he did not care, he used to dribble footballs around and go on skateboards and down slides.

RIP Arthur, you were the best!

justpinions · 24/01/2008 22:47

OK that was a long catch up.

Pesha. No advice, but can understand why you are so pissed off re ex. .

E hope you are feeling a bit better ??

Erm. Have got question time on in the background, think it rates as the all time most boring programme ever, yawn.

Right off to bed, thanks for all feeding/teething comments ladies.

Brrrrrrrr freezing.

elkiedee · 25/01/2008 01:18

D's awake again, sigh.

Pesha, grr at your ex.

WCL, re Arthur.

Maveta · 25/01/2008 06:50

Oh wcl my heart goes out to you, pets are such a part of the family. It´s so hard to lose them. We had the same mindset with our first cat and we were heartbroken when he died (run over) but he had such a happy life.

Pinions - that news is very impressed at the french m´dear

Mammyjo and Liath - glad I found a couple of Heath Ledger fans among these heathens (oh look what I did ). I can watch 10 things.. over and over. A total chick flick/teen flick fan, me. yes, I am an adult, honest.

Well success in the Mav and Co. household. We decided to do a very confused (poor N) version of CC although it was more shush/pat actually. Took an hour! (AN HOUR!) and N was pissed he was really screaming but we really feel we have to put our foot down because it was getting ridiculous. He goes down first thing really well so he slept about 7.45pm - 12am and that was when we had our hour of hell. But by 1am he was asleep and stayed that way til 6am. Then I brought him in to bed for his morning feed and a cuddle and he went back to sleep til7.15! He did wake up really angry still which made me feel hopefully it will be easier on all of us tonight.

How did you go Katy?

Sexonlegs · 25/01/2008 08:10

Morning.

WCL, so sorry to hear about Arthur. It is heartbreaking when a pet dies. Hope your dc are ok.

Mav, glad you had a better night.

Right, time to commence battle with B and the joy of the school run .

xx

StealthPolarBear · 25/01/2008 08:50

WCL your poor ds
How is K today SOL?
Pesha at your ex, would it have killed him to think up another solution to begin with?
Maveta, glad you had a bit of a better night, it's awful when they wake up still upset, T did that when we did our wimpy version of cc a few weeks ago, he was still doing sniff-sniff-sob the next morning.
Better night here, he dropped his 3am feed, so just midnight and 6.
Not sure if food is getting better here or not. Certainly seems to be. He's currently having toast and apple, and yesterday he ate a dried apricot, I was sick of chopping them into tiny bits so I gave him it whole, assuming he'd either try to swallow it whole or decide it had come out of his nappy and ignore it! He ate it bite by bite
He's also started 'talking', probably what the other april babies have been doing for ages, but making noises like 'Gigigaaaa' and 'amawarabu'. Befor he'd only really say 'ehh' and 'baaa'. So lovely to hear him shouting at us! Plus since he did standing up and making more word like noises in 2 days can I assume his sleep was development related and he'll go back to normal?? Pleeeease?
Sorry for that ramble.

elkiedee · 25/01/2008 09:14

Just popping in to say hi quickly, then I'm taking D out probably until mid-afternoon.

Glad Maveta and SPB had better nights, ours was a little bit too, D did wake up but went back to sleep at 1 am with a feed - quicker than he has been doing and earlier in the night.

Pesha · 25/01/2008 09:44

Glad you all seem to have had slightly better nights.

Maveta hope the CC works quickly for you and you dont have to endure it for too long. It is hard and you do feel mean but if its what it takes to get them sleeping better and therefore happier and less tired then its worth it.

WCL - so about Arthur. I do hope ds is ok. We had loads of pets as a child ( rabbits, hamsters, mice, gerbils, chinchilla, stick insects, dog, cats, horses...although not all at the same time thankfully!) and was always so upsetting when they died I think Maia would be inconsolable if anything happened to our dog. ((((((((hugs)))))))))) to your ds - I do hugs for children!

I missed dentist yesterday as I was sleeping very busy so have another appointment at half 10. Hoping they just give me abs and dont actually do anything. And slightly worried as I forgot to ask which dentist it was, my dentist is good but theres another one who completely cocked up before and tried to do a root canal on a perfectly healthy tooth if its him I shall let him give me a prescription but if he starts picking up his little tools I'm outta there!

And thanks for all the re xp. yes it would have been nice if he could have thought to make more effort in the first place.

I had a bit of a meltdown with dc this morning, at one point shouted so loudly my voice went - "STOP MESSING AROUND AND GO AND FIND YOUR F...." Was probably just as well my voice did go. I dont think I was about to say a very rude word but I couldn't guarantee it I'd been doing so well lately with staying calm but this morning N was just completely ignoring me and not do what he was told at all and thats what gets my back up. I dont mind too much having to tell them twice or even 3 times but when it gets to the 4th or 5th time thats when i get a tad cross!

Feeling abit sick this morning, bleurgh.

mammyjo · 25/01/2008 09:55

Hope you feel better later pesha

Hooray for better nights Maveta and SPB You may be right about a developmental thing SPB. F always has crap nights just before cutting a tooth. Had one last night so am just waiting for the extra tooth to appear! Her poor little gum looks stretched to its limit.

Maveta, I too am a complete chick flick and teen movie fan and can watch my favourites over and over again! Dh just does not get it!

Pesha · 25/01/2008 09:59

Hi MJ

Maveta meant to say Lol at 'Heathens' - very clever!!

SPB - could well be a developmantal thing, I have heard that from people before.

CaptainDippy · 25/01/2008 10:18

Morning! Has taken me forever to get on here as computer is playing silly buggers and then got over-heated and shut itself down - Argh!!

Anyway - hello!

Can't remember anything much except how and I am about those poor Romanian children they found.

Also that I was sorry to hear about Arthur the rabbit, WCL RIP. xx

How is everyone today??

cazboldy · 25/01/2008 10:30

Hi all

sorry about arthur WCL

Pesha - we had one of those mornings today aswell. I was running late anyway, and dd1 decided to hide one of her shoes last night as shw wanted to wear these horrible pink boot things that my mum bought for her to school. anyway when it came down to it she agreed that it would be a bit of a daft thing to do, but can't remember where ahe hid her shoe so I made her go in some manky old trainers.....and whats more I still can't find her shoe!

Molly had a whole weetabix this morning, and is sat here munching on a very squashed banana (while trying to mash it into her hair at the same time ) methinks she might need a bath shortly!

CaptainDippy · 25/01/2008 10:39

Bloomin' children, eh, Caz!!? My older 2 didn't want to leave a friend house the other day and so hid my car keys ..... took us aaaaages to get them to tell us where they had put them!

oooggs · 25/01/2008 10:57

sorry about Arthur wcl

sol - the blanket was my Christmas present from dh

well I was alseep by 9.30pm - dd awake between 12-1am with dh then I got up to help. Took her in with us (fed ds2 at 2am)and she slept/cried/slept/cried until 4am when I fed her and put her in her cot - success and I went to bed to be woken by ds2 at 6.15am.

I am pissed off and shattered - bloody kids I'm tired

mammyjo · 25/01/2008 10:58

Not daft are they, know which things to hide to cause maximum disruption!!

mammyjo · 25/01/2008 11:00

Oh oooggs, you really are having a tough time of it just now. Not surprised you are pissed off, tiredness is a terrible thing, made worse by the fact that no matter how tired we get we are still expected to carry on as normal.

CaptainDippy · 25/01/2008 11:02

Oh oooggs {{{hugs}}}

cazboldy · 25/01/2008 11:10

when is it dh is having his turn ooogs?

have just found the shoe

inside her rabbit food container - little madam!

Eddas · 25/01/2008 11:17

but caz, sorry, little monkey

oooggs {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}}}}}

ds seems better still today although he did do the most amazing(slightly too runny, but not water IYSWIM) poo a while ago, sorry if TMI It escaped everywhere, not just up his back, but down his legs, on his tummy EVERYWHERE was near nap time so just cleared it up, changed him and put him to bed. Bath is a MUST later. They can be scuzzy creatures these babies

CaptainDippy · 25/01/2008 11:34

Sounds tasty.

StealthPolarBear · 25/01/2008 11:45

oooggs you poor thing!

CaptainDippy · 25/01/2008 11:54

Hi SPB How's cutie T?
