ooh aah a little bit more ..............

Are they/Aren't they?
Dippy
Pinions

Work
Pinions has issues with her return to work and her hours are yet to be finalised
Octo made the decision to go back to teaching, as a supply teacher for now
mammyjo was messed around by payroll and overpaid
crossover of uk/spanish public holidays caused problems for Maveta
weeonion is also struggling with issues surrounding her return to work

Babies
Talk about talking
weeonion's C has her first tooth
WCL is tearing her hair out as L is quite literally everywhere
wanky loon HV giving Pesha hassle over D's weight

Everything Else
Eddas made her Buggy Snuggle and it looks fab!
Caz has been asked to talk to teenagers about being a young mum
Oooggs has worries about a planning application right next to Nursery
GMM will be running for DEBRA
Maveta needs to chose a Nursery but with ratios of 1:8 it won't be easy
Maveta is also struggling with other aspects of the Spanish way of life, namely MIL
Hotlipsmummy rejoined the group after being with us during pregnancy, and promptly changed her name to 2hotcrossbunnies in preparation for Easter
Pinions had an op to remove some gremlin moles but is recovering well
Pinions brother has written a rather interesting book (that's the brother that doesn't star in random tv ads )
phdlife popped in to say hi
Pesha went to a party in her wellies and came home very drunk ""maybe a tiddly bit tiddly" by 10pm
Maveta has a new hairdo
Dippy will jump into bed with anyone that offers her a Kinder Egg
Pinions can knit
GMM has her notallowedtotellyou pierced
mj and oooggs had lovely girlie nights out with friends, while SOL took dh with her when she ventured out
GMM has bought a new pushchair
Dippy has stickykeys
KHIN needs (((hugs)))

Meet Ups
We were thinking of multiple meet-ups on same day in May to celebrate birthdays????
NEED TO PROGRESS THIS
Ellie wants to come to Scotland on Feb 15th if they'll have her???

Funny stuff
It was decided that MN is constructive
SPB asked "does it get easier as they get older?" (still pmsl at that one )

Also worthy of note
Octo had more wine leading to this quote -
"Fuck it, bugger working and going to supply and have 4 more children ..."

There were excellent language skills on display in the Liath household .....
"A recent conversation at my sister's house went thus:
Dd - I'm going to bugger off the cat, Mummy.
Me - I beg your pardon?
Dd - I'M GOING TO BUGGER OFF THE CAT MUMMY!
Me -
Dd - Bugger off cat!!
Cat -
I must stop using foul language"

A collaberation between Mr Dippy and NL came up with this new 'lullaby'.....
"Some naughty children didn't go to bed,
Along came a goblin and chopped off their heads.
Their poor parents started to weep,
Because the naughty children wouldn't go to sleep!"
"The naughty children bewailed their fate
But alas and alack it was all too late
The Goblin scarpered, quick as could be
So listen MY naughty children, go to sleep for ME!"

Pesha (or should that be Peesha ) got fed up of not being able to say her own name correctly and has changed it to Mashanapedyjo (Masher for short) thanks to Octo!

to all the school talk, that's still a long way off, too far for me to think about!
T has just woken up after a 15 minute nap
Going to do something tonight, can't carry on with sleeping like this. It's not even that I'm tired, I just need some structure and he needs more sleep!!

justpinions · 24/01/2008 11:59

Pesha - nothing compared to leaving them at a nursery, aged 8 months screaming blue murder at you not to go to work, then driving to work in tears, then having to smile, be professional and work allday long, then go pick them up . Never again. I don't think anything can compare to that heartbreak.Hopefully that will be small in comparison. But I can see your points too .

Ditto Eddas, on all points (again) . L would be happier in full time school and tbh think he is ready for it now. I know I would be happier to see him getting more of what he needs, in terms of company, eduation, stimulation, so to speak. For now will just have to make do with the 2.5 hrs.

Anyway.............7 months to go .

T waking up from 2 hour sleep. Now that's not GF is it ??! Ho hum.

Yes to school talk - can't believe DD1 is going in Sept - Nooooooooo!!

No charge for blanket making, Elkie - I'll ask her today. xx You will have to get some knitting tips from Pinions!

Been out at appt while MIL had P who is now squeaking so off again - Be back on once they are all safely installed in nursery.

CaptainDippy · 24/01/2008 12:11

Interesting looking at that tooth chart on BabyWorld: DD1 was just under 2 when she cut her 1st tooth ; I think they came relatively quickly after that; and DD2 was about 16m, I think. I always remember she cut one bottom incisor and it stayed all on it's lonesome for aaaaaaages - DH called it her "Hag Tooth" cos she looked just like a little old crone with one measly tooth on the bottom.

So ..... not expecting any gnashers for a wee while yet ........

oooggs · 24/01/2008 12:56

super sunny down 'ere so off to the park.

7 mths to go too pinions

Lucewits · 24/01/2008 12:58

I agree Pesha, its SO hard when they start 'big school'
The having no control over what they do, what they learn, who they play with and how other children treat them is HORRIBLE!

On my dds first days there was always a gaggle of sobbing mummies around the corner from the school, such a difficult transition.

S has cross cut his teeth. He got the bottom two then a top second tooth (not the front one but the next one)
Thankfully he now has the two top second teeth but no front teeth so he does look like he has fangs

Lucewits · 24/01/2008 12:59

Super sunny oooggs?????? Its still snowing here.
Have a nice time in the park

justpinions · 24/01/2008 13:33

Right !

Second question of the day - can you tell I'm on form today .

T is also completely going off all his normal food, ie everything that was previously his fave hill will not touch and usually ends up spitting it out at me (fantastic).

So I've just tried to give him his normal mash/casserole mixed, which, a few weeks ago he would have wolfed sp? down and he just spat it straight out. But I gave some Moroccan Chick Pea soup and he has finished the lot????? What's going on. Do they get bored just like we do or what ??

He also will not eat anything any more with "bits" in it, regardless of what it is, and will scrape all the bits off of his tongue, yet will eat or at least try any type of dry food, or finger food that he can hold himself ??

Is anyone else getting this ????

justpinions · 24/01/2008 13:34

Hill will = he will !!?

Bramshott · 24/01/2008 13:53

Hmm yes, I sort of see your point about school (Pinions, Ooogs and others counting) - I am feeling that N is growing up too fast, and suddenly she's at school and it feels like I'm losing her, BUT if someone said to me "oh it's okay, she doesn't have to go, you can have her at home all day" I'd be very !!!

Bramshott · 24/01/2008 13:54

O also much happier with finger food - I think it's an age thing, they like to be in control and all that (doesn't she realise I like to be in control too?!)

justpinions · 24/01/2008 14:07
Grin
justpinions · 24/01/2008 14:14

!!!!

CaptainDippy · 24/01/2008 14:33

P eats anything - Other two, on the other hand, were very, very fussy - deifnitely NO "bits" in food and they would only actually eat one or two things - used to drive me completely potty!!

Mashanapedyjo · 24/01/2008 14:46

No experience of fussy babies I'm afraid, its the one thing all of them have been good at! Probably their attempt to try and make up for being bad sleepers

I have to admit I found it easier when M went to school as shes a november baby so was nearly 5 and more than ready for it. Although even then it was hard and I remember a few mornings walking her to school with a horrible feeling of dread and 'what am I subjecting my poor girl to' Probably not helped by me having had a crap time at school and some really horrid teachers right from infants.

Its also the other kids being mean to them, hitting them and teaching them things you really dont want them to learn. And the teacher having your baby all day and you have absolutely no control or not even a say in what they do with their day. And you cant protect them from bad things when they're there be that teachers or other children or whatever. And its for the entire rest of their childhood!!!!!!!!! By the time you get them out they're all grown up and you dont want them anymore anyway!!

Dylan is loving blowing raspberries atm!! Now he is one child who is Never ever ever going to school. No no no no no, not him, he's my baby!

Pesha · 24/01/2008 14:49

Aaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

thats better

justpinions · 24/01/2008 15:16

OK points well made.Erm thanks pesha.

So.

Home ed it is then .

Pesha · 24/01/2008 15:20

Ah now I wouldn't go that far...

CaptainDippy · 24/01/2008 15:32

Me neither - 'specially not with DD"!

CaptainDippy · 24/01/2008 15:44

That was supposed to say DD2, obviously

Off to get a few bits from twon before going to pick girls up now. Off out for a meal with a few friends tonight - Wish you were coming E!! xx

justpinions · 24/01/2008 16:02

Help.........!!!!!!!

justpinions · 24/01/2008 16:06

re Feeding

Re earlier convo - very interesting !!

Hope link works........

NorthernLurker · 24/01/2008 16:14

hmmmmm I coped with dd2 starting school ok - but only because dh and I already had secret plans for what has turned out to be B. In 4 years time I'll be getting a cat

justpinions · 24/01/2008 16:22

Seriously about the school - well - I am sure he will be ok as he has been with lo's since well, 8 months old, and is better with company than without it (plus he never bloody well shuts up ). Sure problems will probably come up but then we will tackle them one by one if they do .

Anyway..........suppose I'd better get back to where I belong, the kitchen that is and start rustling up some more delicacies .

Ciao.
