ooh aah a little bit more ..............

Are they/Aren't they?
Dippy
Pinions

Work
Pinions has issues with her return to work and her hours are yet to be finalised
Octo made the decision to go back to teaching, as a supply teacher for now
mammyjo was messed around by payroll and overpaid
crossover of uk/spanish public holidays caused problems for Maveta
weeonion is also struggling with issues surrounding her return to work

Babies
Talk about talking
weeonion's C has her first tooth
WCL is tearing her hair out as L is quite literally everywhere
wanky loon HV giving Pesha hassle over D's weight

Everything Else
Eddas made her Buggy Snuggle and it looks fab!
Caz has been asked to talk to teenagers about being a young mum
Oooggs has worries about a planning application right next to Nursery
GMM will be running for DEBRA
Maveta needs to chose a Nursery but with ratios of 1:8 it won't be easy
Maveta is also struggling with other aspects of the Spanish way of life, namely MIL
Hotlipsmummy rejoined the group after being with us during pregnancy, and promptly changed her name to 2hotcrossbunnies in preparation for Easter
Pinions had an op to remove some gremlin moles but is recovering well
Pinions brother has written a rather interesting book (that's the brother that doesn't star in random tv ads )
phdlife popped in to say hi
Pesha went to a party in her wellies and came home very drunk ""maybe a tiddly bit tiddly" by 10pm
Maveta has a new hairdo
Dippy will jump into bed with anyone that offers her a Kinder Egg
Pinions can knit
GMM has her notallowedtotellyou pierced
mj and oooggs had lovely girlie nights out with friends, while SOL took dh with her when she ventured out
GMM has bought a new pushchair
Dippy has stickykeys
KHIN needs (((hugs)))

Meet Ups
We were thinking of multiple meet-ups on same day in May to celebrate birthdays????
NEED TO PROGRESS THIS
Ellie wants to come to Scotland on Feb 15th if they'll have her???

Funny stuff
It was decided that MN is constructive
SPB asked "does it get easier as they get older?" (still pmsl at that one )

Also worthy of note
Octo had more wine leading to this quote -
"Fuck it, bugger working and going to supply and have 4 more children ..."

There were excellent language skills on display in the Liath household .....
"A recent conversation at my sister's house went thus:
Dd - I'm going to bugger off the cat, Mummy.
Me - I beg your pardon?
Dd - I'M GOING TO BUGGER OFF THE CAT MUMMY!
Me -
Dd - Bugger off cat!!
Cat -
I must stop using foul language"

A collaberation between Mr Dippy and NL came up with this new 'lullaby'.....
"Some naughty children didn't go to bed,
Along came a goblin and chopped off their heads.
Their poor parents started to weep,
Because the naughty children wouldn't go to sleep!"
"The naughty children bewailed their fate
But alas and alack it was all too late
The Goblin scarpered, quick as could be
So listen MY naughty children, go to sleep for ME!"

Pesha (or should that be Peesha ) got fed up of not being able to say her own name correctly and has changed it to Mashanapedyjo (Masher for short) thanks to Octo!

OK, I think I get it now. Let's hope the Mumsnet punctuation police don't strike.

oooggs · 28/01/2008 20:23

got to go as ds2 awake and upset - yes to saturday - maybe back later

Pesha · 28/01/2008 20:23

Well if you need shoes Oooggs do we want to meet at clarks village again? Or is that a bit boring? Glastonbury? Glastonbury tor?! Or is that a bit much? We can go to the Egg Stone, supposed to be much more er mystical(?) than the tor itself and theres a tree you tie wishes on to! 'Tis a big secret though so dont tell anyone!!

Maveta · 28/01/2008 20:25

hey girls, just a quick hello, had a very family weekend which was really relaxed. Mostly. Except I´ve been feeling very PMT, having real mood swings which I never used to get before so been interesting to read that a few of you are experiencing the same. Maybe try evening primrose and magnesium, not really keen on going on the pill.

Sympathies to those with wretched nights and early mornings, N settled down a bit again, we had 2 nights all the way through but then last night 12pm and 4am again, still much better than it´s been for more than a month so can´t complain.

Got very riled on saturday, went for lunch with dh´s work colleagues (1 older couple 50+ years old, their son, and then 2 other couples more our age), near the end of the lunch one of the other girls with a 2 month old ds was asking me what kind of food N eats now. I said he eats almost everything and happened to mention he ate (and loved) an egg sandwich the other day. The older woman exclaimed that they shouldn´t eat eggs til 1 year and I just calmly said I had looked into it and some guidelines here are different from the UK, and I am generally following UK guidelines which say 6 months. She was going on about allergy risks etc and I just reiterated that I had checked the guidelines, then her son and the 3rd woman started chiming in about no, really, under 1 year it really wasn´t advised etc. and I just stood firm so right in front of me she looked at the table/her dh and muttered ´well I think that´s unbelievable. UNbelievable´ It made me SO MAD. grrrrrrrrrrr.

SO yeah. going to check out the evening primrose

Went back for a 2nd visit to the nursery I saw the other day so dh could see it and he liked. Will see another few to compare but I do really like the boss woman and the feel of the place. Still and about the ratios but I think I´m between a rock and a hard place with that one.

Sorry I´ve not done personals but my head hurts and I can´t remember enough.. sorry for being rubbish and self absorbed, hope you all have lovely evenings.

PS. Anyone heard from Yvie lately??

NorthernLurker · 28/01/2008 20:25

The punctuation drives me mad too! I know nobody's perfect - but sometimes you see posts which are so evidently a stranger to a comma or full stop - it is hard to resist.

Do you think there's a poster out there thinking 'the way that NorthernLurker uses - everywhere because she's too lazy to construct her sentences properly really gets on my tits!'

Pesha · 28/01/2008 20:26

Sorry I know we didnt met oooggs at Clarks village, I'm not that dopey! The 'again' was referring to me, ellie and octo!

NorthernLurker · 28/01/2008 20:27

Maveta that's awful! If it's any comfort B has had a variety of well cooked egg things.

Pesha · 28/01/2008 20:31

If so NL they're saying it about me too!!!

weeonion · 28/01/2008 20:33

maveta - c has omlettes a-go-go and i use eggs to bind pnackes, cakes and burgers etc etc together. silly ole biddy - should have kept her nose out of it. good on you for standing firm and not just jumping on her head.

PillockOfTheCommunity · 28/01/2008 20:34

you should have told her that at least we don't expect one adult to take care of 8 babies at once, I'd say that was far more likely to cause harm than a bit of egg!

OP posts:
geordiemacminx · 28/01/2008 20:35

C has scrambled eggs.... hasnt spontaneously combusted yet...

PillockOfTheCommunity · 28/01/2008 20:36

heck, Joe is currently sat next to me eating the hamster food and he's still living

OP posts:
justpinions · 28/01/2008 20:37

OK, lack of punctuation, I see .

My brother has just rung and is going to New Zealand on Friday for five weeks - yes five weeks !! .

Pesha · 28/01/2008 20:37

Oh yeah - I would have been fuming Maveta - dont think being angry about that is hormone related, it sounds like a perfectly rational reaction to me!

I have found that my periods and my pmt have got worse after each child so dreading the return. Seem to be having a very minor period atm and getting really achey, hate to think what it'll be like when they're back properly

Went to see a dr about my pmt pre Dylan, dr said the pill might help, i said I wasnt keen to go on the pill as we were thinking of having a baby in a few minths time and he said oh yes, get pg thats definitely the best thing for it Well, yes Didnt help me until then though. I found the worst thing was water retention, would gain about half a stone each month then lose it again. Half a stone ffs!!!

weeonion · 28/01/2008 20:38

gmm - you sure?? i thought i saw a bit of him implode over eggs benedict?? do you have any pics from sat? and if ellesbelles post any pics of us eejits dancing - i will not be a happy onion!

elkiedee · 28/01/2008 20:38

I've ordered scrambled egg on toast a couple of times in cafes here for D, which he seems to have enjoyed.

Pesha · 28/01/2008 20:38

Pinions I never got your email about your brother's book

PillockOfTheCommunity · 28/01/2008 20:41

The only thing I don't do is give Joe eggs from our chickens, I buy free-range for him that I know have been checked.

OP posts:
justpinions · 28/01/2008 20:41

Will dig out your email addy.........hold on.

StealthPolarBear · 28/01/2008 20:44

Pesha · 28/01/2008 20:45

Tis dynamai pinions and yes I do!!! [nosey]

Maveta · 28/01/2008 20:47

Pesha - half a stone?! this news about pmt getting worse after each baby is totally news to me but does make a lot of sense given how I´ve been for the last few days. Dh is actually, officially, to blame for everything. Especially for subjecting me to crazy Egg woman.

Oh yes, you´d better believe he had to listen to hours of ranting about that.

Thanks for making me feel sane again girls, I had started to doubt myself and was going to come on the same pm and rant about it and then thought "oh no, what if I´m NOT supposed to give eggs and then they all say I´m mad, too" (because of course my world would just implode if you guys didn´t back me up )

And yes, afterwards during one of my rants to dh I did remember that I should have mentioned how they all put cereal in their babies´ bottles here which is like something out of the dark ages. Why do you never remember this stuff at the moment it is needed? Probably for the best though, as it was we just excused ourselves and left shortly after vs me leaping over the table and pulling her hair out

justpinions · 28/01/2008 20:48

Am afraid it's the old baby is awake scenario .

geordiemacminx · 28/01/2008 20:55

WO - One crap picture from sat with me looking fat not very nice so will be binned.

Are you coming to time twisters tomorrow?

I got a call about a job today has kinda thrown me a bit... On paper it looks like a fab job, a step up from what I was doing before C, the kinda job I have dreamt about, but in reality my head is a bit messed up as to whether I would even want it, I have been thinking about looking for something, but hadnt really thought about full time "proper" job.... This doesnt make sense does it? I'll shut the fuck up

Pesha · 28/01/2008 21:02

Um...Ellie - sent you a text earlier and asked you on here if you'd had it and still no reply

I have a mystery shopping assignment on saturday night for the same place we went to last time, have to buy a drink and get something to eat, enter about 8 and stay till at leat 11. It will be hard I know but thought you might like to do that?! I'd pay for any food obviously as they will pay me £30 to cover it.
