ooh aah a little bit more ..............

Are they/Aren't they?
Dippy
Pinions

Work
Pinions has issues with her return to work and her hours are yet to be finalised
Octo made the decision to go back to teaching, as a supply teacher for now
mammyjo was messed around by payroll and overpaid
crossover of uk/spanish public holidays caused problems for Maveta
weeonion is also struggling with issues surrounding her return to work

Babies
Talk about talking
weeonion's C has her first tooth
WCL is tearing her hair out as L is quite literally everywhere
wanky loon HV giving Pesha hassle over D's weight

Everything Else
Eddas made her Buggy Snuggle and it looks fab!
Caz has been asked to talk to teenagers about being a young mum
Oooggs has worries about a planning application right next to Nursery
GMM will be running for DEBRA
Maveta needs to chose a Nursery but with ratios of 1:8 it won't be easy
Maveta is also struggling with other aspects of the Spanish way of life, namely MIL
Hotlipsmummy rejoined the group after being with us during pregnancy, and promptly changed her name to 2hotcrossbunnies in preparation for Easter
Pinions had an op to remove some gremlin moles but is recovering well
Pinions brother has written a rather interesting book (that's the brother that doesn't star in random tv ads )
phdlife popped in to say hi
Pesha went to a party in her wellies and came home very drunk ""maybe a tiddly bit tiddly" by 10pm
Maveta has a new hairdo
Dippy will jump into bed with anyone that offers her a Kinder Egg
Pinions can knit
GMM has her notallowedtotellyou pierced
mj and oooggs had lovely girlie nights out with friends, while SOL took dh with her when she ventured out
GMM has bought a new pushchair
Dippy has stickykeys
KHIN needs (((hugs)))

Meet Ups
We were thinking of multiple meet-ups on same day in May to celebrate birthdays????
NEED TO PROGRESS THIS
Ellie wants to come to Scotland on Feb 15th if they'll have her???

Funny stuff
It was decided that MN is constructive
SPB asked "does it get easier as they get older?" (still pmsl at that one )

Also worthy of note
Octo had more wine leading to this quote -
"Fuck it, bugger working and going to supply and have 4 more children ..."

There were excellent language skills on display in the Liath household .....
"A recent conversation at my sister's house went thus:
Dd - I'm going to bugger off the cat, Mummy.
Me - I beg your pardon?
Dd - I'M GOING TO BUGGER OFF THE CAT MUMMY!
Me -
Dd - Bugger off cat!!
Cat -
I must stop using foul language"

A collaberation between Mr Dippy and NL came up with this new 'lullaby'.....
"Some naughty children didn't go to bed,
Along came a goblin and chopped off their heads.
Their poor parents started to weep,
Because the naughty children wouldn't go to sleep!"
"The naughty children bewailed their fate
But alas and alack it was all too late
The Goblin scarpered, quick as could be
So listen MY naughty children, go to sleep for ME!"

Pesha (or should that be Peesha ) got fed up of not being able to say her own name correctly and has changed it to Mashanapedyjo (Masher for short) thanks to Octo!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
StealthPolarBear · 25/01/2008 18:10

yes, done loads of cleaning, sat t in front of baby einstein dvd - fantastic!!

Sexonlegs · 25/01/2008 18:26

I am so fucking naffed off. Sorry about the language.

I am going out tonight - a rarity - and have been looking forward to it for weeks.
Dh had planned to work at home, but because he is so effing dis-organised forgot something and had to go in to the office.

He has now called to say the motorway is like a car park due to an accident and doesn't know what time he will be home!

I know he can't help the accident, but I am so cross.

If he had worked from home as planned, he could have taken over so I could get ready, but now I am going to have to run around like a blue arsed fly. On top of that B is being a total and utter pita.

Sorry.

oooggs · 25/01/2008 19:30

oh - sol - hope he is home now/soon for you and I know how frustrating it must be

lol at cazs' friend

how's Bumble getting on? Is she home yet after the break in?

Not only an I pissed off at the lack of sleep, I am also narked at putting 3 children to bed on my own. Tonight dd fell asleep so popped in cot and ds2 fell asleep when feeding so popped in the cot (hardly suprising as missed a nap today), then dd awake standing and screaming to I give her rest of her bottle.

Walk out and start reading to ds1, who had kept popping into the nursery to ask when I was coming, which delayed proceedings as dts thought everytime he came in that they were going to play .

2nd page of book and ds2 awake wanting rest of his bottle, then back to ds1 to finish story - currently all asleep, but I should will be in bed by 8 just to try and survive the night.

Pesha · 25/01/2008 19:35

Oh SOl - thats such a pita Hope your dh gets home soon and B is behaving herself. Actually as you posted nearly an hour ago I hope dh is back now! Have a great night and drink dance your cares away!!

WO - at you going to get your clit done! DP has suggested I have it done but I think not - no1 reason being it was bad enough having a gaggle of mws staring at my bits, I really dont want some random piercing person looking!! Specially not after 3 kids! And at work - hope you vcan get it sorted out.

Have gone completely blank now

Everone else in the Pesha house is in bed so I'm enjoying some nice quiet. Haven't started my ABs yet so going to have a couple of glasses of wine tonight and start them in the morning.

Oh yes i wrote a post earlier but it got lost and then the laptop got taken over by dc and cartoon network

Thankyou for info re Ibuprofen. I took it without thinking and then couldn't remember if i should have so asked pharmacist who said no, only paracetamol while bfing. Which is crap cos I know you can take codeine aswell. So I bought some paramol cos I'm pretty sure I had that for afterpains. But now wondering if thats ok cos its dyhydrocodeine (sp) rather than normal codeine. Although I dont even know now if there actually is any difference. 9 months ago I was an expert on all this but now I have no clue!

Pesha · 25/01/2008 19:38

Oh Oooggs it must be so hard with all 3 of them not sleeping well I hope you have a better night tonight

oooggs · 25/01/2008 19:43

cheers pesha - if not I will ship them up to you not too far on the bus on their own

weeonion · 25/01/2008 19:46

pesha - when i had abcess in boob and still bf - i was told by lactation consultant to take ibuprofen to bring down swelling????

Pesha · 25/01/2008 19:51

Seems like pharmacist was being abit over cautious then. I may keep taking the ibuprofen then cos it works better than anything else as alot of the pain is from the swelling. And I can time it so that I take it just after a feed so will be wearing off by the time I feed him anyway.

Oooggs - ship em all up for a night I dont mind!! Or even better you come up with them too and then you and I can go for a night out and leave dp with all of them

oooggs · 25/01/2008 19:56

bugger haven't even made it to bed yet and ds2 is screaming

geordiemacminx · 25/01/2008 20:37

Hey ladies, have had a quick skim, but cant remember a thing!!

Had my mum here for the past few days which has been nice.

Got a new car seat for C, a maxi type thing -reduced from £170 to £99, and have got pram and old car seat sold for £225... ding dang dong!!!

WO - Sounds like you are having a crap time of it - you will be having a drink tomorrow - even if I have to spike you!!

SOL - Sorry you didnt get out tonight - I hope your dh makes it up to you!!

Pesha - hope you are feeling better soon.

We got approached by a modelling agency for C, but after a little investigation it turns out they are scam merchants - one of these "pay £125 to join our agency" as if!!!

Eddas · 25/01/2008 20:42

oh oooggs, sound like a nightmare Really hope dh can help more asap and they start to go easier on their mummy {{{{hugs}}}}

sol i'd be too, hope you managed to sort things out and got out ok. If I go out on any week night I have to get ready whilst doing everyone's diner and everythings else. When dh does it he comes home from works, eats, gets ready and goes SO annoying as it's not like it happens a lot.

It's very quiet on our thread atm

Pesha · 25/01/2008 20:57

It is very quiet - where is everyone?!?!

Idreamofchocolate · 25/01/2008 21:00

Just flying in quickly as haven't posted for ages. Have tried lurking, but as now back at work just don't have time to keep up at all. So sorry for not knowing much about what's going on with everyone, but wanted to say 'hi' anyway.

Summary of what I've been up to...have spent several hours and several £100 at the bleedin' dentist recently. Have discovered that local anaesthetic doesn't numb my back teeth properly (must have strange nerve arrangement) so dentist had me screaming at him several times whilst he drilled. Not good. Might have to go into hosp for an op on my shoulder before mid-Feb - this resulted from a car-crash I was in some time ago and insurance company suddenly need me to have op now.
Going to see a house tomorrow which is going to sealed bid - at last time of checking we are the 85th people booked into the open day for the house. Not much chance of us getting it then.
S had her 8 month check up and as I thought she is very fat. But very very gorgeous. Teething like mad, not sleeping well but I have discovered the wonders of Medised. I love Medised (or at least I love the effect it has on grumpy babies).
Work going OK now, but don't have a minute to myself.
Have lost a few pounds since New Year - mixture of running around like a blue-arsed-fly and Davina McCall exercise DVD. Tis good .

So that's me I guess. Hope all the babies send sleep-vibes out tonight. Love to you all xxx

elkiedee · 25/01/2008 21:05

It's taken me a while to read through the messages - can't be that quiet, we seem to post much more than May 2007 for example.

Thanks for the laughs re the piercing conversation, I needed to read something funny. Sorry to see that you're having such problems with work WO and that you're having to get signed off.

We just had a huge panic - just before 6.30 I thought oh, time to start getting D to bed. Then he really suddenly started screaming, very distressed and spluttering. After a few minutes he coughed up a lot of mucus but continued. We called a friend who lives nearby for advice and NHS Direct at the same time. Finally just as dp had got an ambulance called, I lay D on my lap and stroked (not patted) his back on friend's advice - he brought a load more mucus and - a bit of a Curly Wurly wrapper. He stopped crying immediately, and by the time the paramedics arrived he was happy and laughing - their report on the whole thing describes him as a "very happy baby". They would have taken him into the hospital to check him over but agreed it was up to us and not essential, so we decided to put him to bed and keep checking on him, as he seemed so totally normal once he brought up the wrapper.

I feel like such a crap mummy, though (it must have been me who dropped the top of the wrapper on the floor).

elkiedee · 25/01/2008 21:07

Good to hear from you idoc - hope you find a suitable house soon.

Eddas · 25/01/2008 21:10

hi pesha and IDOC, teeth sound painful

Elkie, sounds like you handled the situation really well, glad he's ok. Must've been really scary. And you are not a bad mum. Kids pick up everything and put it in their mouth. DS picks up much more than dd ever did beacuse dd is always dropping things. She is really good, bless her, but it happens and you shouldn't feel bad.

Idreamofchocolate · 25/01/2008 21:13

Elkie, how frightening for you. They stuff everything in their mouths don't they? Dh caught S eating a Polly Pocket this morning - I swear I'm gonna find some of Polly's stupid little shoes in S's poo one of these days. Glad D's all OK now though.

Pesha · 25/01/2008 21:16

Elkie so not a bad mother at all honestly. That could so easily happen in my house, crap everywhere!

Was reading a thread about a nanny earlier and someone said accidents happen, its how you deal with it that matters. And you dealt with it brilliantly and he is fine now - well done you (In an non-patronising way!)

Pesha · 25/01/2008 21:18

Sorry for the over use of 'so', I'm not a 15 year old I promise! I wish

AngeG · 25/01/2008 21:24

Hello

Nice to see you IDOC! Dentist sounds horrible!
WO - Sorry the work meeting didn't go to well. Glad you've been signed off for a month, you need the time to decide what/where to go next. Really hope something can be sorted out with work. Would you hand your notice in? I have to say I did giggle at the clit piercing!

Oooggs - Sorry you're having such bad nights, really hope tonight is better for you.

Pesha - Hope the tooth gets better, glad you've got medicine.

Elkie - How scary for you. Sounds like you coped really well. Don't feel bad, Izzy puts everything in her mouth. I caught her with a mouthful of J's used tissue the other day...YUK!!

SOL - Hope DH got back in time for you to go out and hope you're having a good time. M3 was a nightmare tonight.

DH had an arse getting back from Manchester last night, left at 5pm and eventually got in at 1.15am! I was not happy as I didn't sleep well the night before because he wasn't here and then waited up for him last night and he expected sex when he got in I am knackered today!

Off to bed soon.

Idreamofchocolate · 25/01/2008 21:26

Did you give it to him Ange?

AngeG · 25/01/2008 21:30

Of course

Idreamofchocolate · 25/01/2008 21:35

You are a good wife. I would have told dh to sod off.
I'm more of a morning person

Pesha · 25/01/2008 21:36

Ange - the wine medicine is working well! Sorry you're tired, hope it was worth it!!

IDOC - injenctions are crap on me too, normally end up having about 4 before they work Have had a dentist before tell me no, I was not in pain still it was just vibrations and I was expecting pain

Pesha · 25/01/2008 21:38

I tried telling dp to sod off last saturday when I was pissed tiddly but he didnt listen Quite glad he didnt though!
