Happy Birthday Sally!!

Not bothered about stats either way really.

at your reaction though Flame

CantSleepWontSleep · 28/02/2008 19:12

Happy Birthday Sally (does anyone still hear from Thell?).

Well I had a fun afternoon, as dd decided to chuck her guts up all over herself in M&S . She was completely unfazed by the whole thing, and opted for taking a packet of mini-cheddars from the bag when I opened it to offer her water, which she proceeded to consume as though nothing had happened .

Frizbe · 28/02/2008 20:09

Happy Birthday Sally
I've not heard from Thell either though?

CSWS for poor dd, but yay for cracking straight on with filling the gap up! hope she's ok for you now? Did Mr CSWS get stuck in the end? or did I miss that bit?

I do remember the days (and don't tell me you've never done this ladies) when on a night out I would go and do just that, then carry on drinking gota make more room and keep up with the lads (n lasses) like

I vote for a new thread if you want ladies, Dame and I are the stragglers after all and you can scrap the stats for me!

I seem to have developed a darn cough, anyone else had one recently, they're annoying eh?

CantSleepWontSleep · 28/02/2008 20:51

He got to Memphis the next day Friz (but didn't tell me what was happening until he was already there - I'd have posted but it wouldn't have been pretty ). He's travelling back overnight tonight, so should be home about lunchtime tomorrow.

That was known as a 'tactical chunder' when I was at uni Friz, but I couldn't make myself sick deliberately, and was rarely actually sick, so not something I ever did. I could still drink most people under the table in those days though .

DontDreamItBeIt · 28/02/2008 21:49

Looks like we'rescrapping the statsthen
I'd still like to wait for the 4th if we could though.
I remember waiting those last few days for ds, and even longer for Dame and Frizbe.

I'm trying to sort out new (cheap) glasses online, but finding it really difficult and time consuming. DS broke mine a Christmas, and I had them superglued briefly butthen he bent them as well so I'm wearing old ones with an out of date prescription and have to squint to read the tv guide on the telly.

I may have to go back to the proper optician and get them on credit/ They are very nice and offered to let me pay in installments.

NO new thread. I will consent to stats scrappin though - makes starting threads easier

Laptop f*cked.

I was a moron and haven't saved most things that are on the laptop - loads of photos, all the photos and info for the shop etc. I am now trying to find out if there is some way in the real world like they have in csi, where you can get the info off the hard drive or summat.

CantSleepWontSleep · 29/02/2008 08:30

There usually is flame, if you know what you're doing, and poss have the right software disk. Will ask dh to see if he can help later for you, if you can't get it sorted before he's home.

EachPeachPearMum · 29/02/2008 09:42

as long as he doesn't charge going rates!

I'm happy with no stats- though judging by the antenatal threads csws will miss them

SlugsNSnails · 29/02/2008 09:43

My mate says he should be able to help, but possibly not for a couple of weeks, but to ask our other friend as he is closer Feeling more positive about rescuing it.

EachPeachPearMum · 29/02/2008 10:24

csws- who is lucien in er? (I havent watched for a few seasons- eek)

SlugsNSnails · 29/02/2008 11:39

Lucien is the short surgeon who seemed to fancy abby to start with but now likes Neela.

SlugsNSnails · 29/02/2008 11:45

Just realised my Thanks at the top of my response to CSWS got wiped before I posted

CantSleepWontSleep · 29/02/2008 13:36

You stalking me again EEPM .

Lucian is lovely kind surgeon - been in maybe 3 series or so.

EachPeachPearMum · 29/02/2008 14:01

Sorry- I stumbled across it, honest
I didn't post on that thread, because dh's father was named Lucien.

mustrunmore · 29/02/2008 20:52

I am crap crap crap. Just did a terrible 7km, and have eatena pub lunch today

And took ds1 to get new shoes today, as there were literally 2 big holes in his soles; he appears to have gone down a size but up a width

Outbid on alll my kitchen stuff , and the other things I loved are so far north its ridiculous!

CantSleepWontSleep · 29/02/2008 21:35

What kitchen stuff? Are we supposed to know?

Can't see how it can be bad to have run 7km, regardless of the speed.

CantSleepWontSleep · 29/02/2008 21:39

Oh and did you (quetion to flame in particular I think) know that Expat is pregnant again .

Frizbe · 29/02/2008 22:11

for Expat, not that I really know her or anything, but have 'seen' her about.

MRM 7k is good in my book, I have done no exercise today, bar a quick whizz round sainsbo's with ss in tow tonight to get his sister a bday prezzie, which I don't think counts?

at tactical chunder CSWS! glad dh got there ok, hope he gets back ok tonight, how damn windy?

CantSleepWontSleep · 29/02/2008 22:19

He got back at lunchtime Friz - you always seem to read my posts a day behind as though they are now!

Did you not follow Expat's story the other month Friz? She had an unexpected pregnancy, worried about how she'd afford it etc, then had missed miscarriage, terrible treatment at hospitals (which she needed ferries to get to), had a history of problems under some anesthetics which they just didn't seem to 'get', so MNers paid for her to go private for a D&C elsewhere. I don't think anyone knew that she had decided to ttc again since.

EachPeachPearMum · 01/03/2008 00:20

rofl- anyone would think the people on here were real!

SlugsNSnails · 01/03/2008 03:06

Ooh that has really made the last 48hours seem

Off to find a thread.

I am into the laptop (using pc now but ykwim) and am frantically transferring files to external hard drive.

I couldn't sleep, suddenly realised how many photos were on there - f*ck the shop stuff, everything else is replaceable. DS's first birthday is not.

So, kicks you all, anyone who has backing up pictures and files on to do list - go do. NOW. I'm watching you. NOW!!!

SlugsNSnails · 01/03/2008 03:28

My life is now on an external hard drive.

laptop still making hideous sounds, no idea what I am going to do about that, but the immediate panic is over.

DontDreamItBeIt · 01/03/2008 08:37

@ not knowing, but how do I back up pictures?

OP posts:
mustrunmore · 01/03/2008 09:00

Bung them on a cd or a memory stick.

Er, sorry csws, did I not mention my kitchen searvh?! Having got my bargaib £35 settee, which fits great, I'm now in search of kitchen! Dh has agreed that I can put new untis in withour rescreeding the floor etc, as long as its cheap ie not a million pound kitchen on top of a sjhit floor!
I've moved the table to in gromt of the window and created a huge space in the corner to put storage; either untis or a dresser. ouitbid on a beautifyl one by £53 My dream is all freestanding 50s stuff, but it seems all to far away. But there's some more traditional units etc that are ok too. I have one chance to pick up huge stuff in the near future, as Dad is coming next Fri and said he's drive a van for me! But the budget is virtually nonexistent, even with Mum helping out
