When the bathroom is finished I will be inviting everyone over to admire it

EachPeachPearMum · 09/02/2008 15:29

Glad its all coming together- it always feels like such a long slog.

Frizbe · 09/02/2008 16:12

[Grin] a bathroom party, how splendid

Loucee, sorry was I horribly ignorant I don't think I said Hi or anything Happy Birthday to your dd.

Am closing up early tonight, off to rescue Meridian from my kids, before he cats get fed up with dd2 decorating them and being a general pest dd1 is asleep on there sofa, in fact I will send flame a photo which she can then figure to upload of dd1 (I can't find the lead for my camera phone anywhere!)

DontDreamItBeIt · 09/02/2008 16:44

Yes, hello loucee, and congrats on the new baby

Right, not really read but they are keeping ds in hospital overnight. They're treating it as an infection so he needs ab's via a canula on his birthday too. I've just nipped home for some things for me and him and hope they put the canula in while i'm not there. He's been crying hysterically whenever a doc or nurse has been near him

DontDreamItBeIt · 09/02/2008 17:20

Phoenix. I hope he's better quickly. I'll be thinking of you tonight. x

OP posts:
mustrunmore · 09/02/2008 17:29

Oh, poor little love He'll be fine you know. Did they say how he got the infection? I've never heard of heels like that. Or am I just naive?

Phoenix · 09/02/2008 17:35

When pead looked in his throat he could see something there so thinks it could have spread from there that's why he's treating it as infection. His ears were clear. The red blotches appeared on his hands while we were at hospital too.

Phoenix · 09/02/2008 17:38

And he still can't put his feet down

2boysmacca · 09/02/2008 18:02

Sounds awful Pg, hope it clears up soon. What a way to spend his b'day. Ouch too for little Friz, at suspect broken bones.

Just recovering from the shock of our bathroom. You'll like this Jas... £8000!!! And that's just the fitting, not the sodding bits and pieces (ok so it does include a new boiler, having to strip out floor to ceiling tiles and replaster the whole room which used to be a double bedroom so it is large and fitting of an en-suite) but we were not expecting that all!!!

Dh bathing boys, they are squealing with delight.

Was supposed to cook a curry tonight but too-ing and fro-ing from bathroom centre to flooring to park to shops, to fitters I have not even started it so I shall be calling out for a takeaway. Hey I was boxing this morning so I don't feel so guilty.

Flamesparrow · 09/02/2008 18:02

I never got round to clicking your link Sending lots of love

Loucee - i also was crap and didn't say hello

Thems with little ladies - I have 2 pretty party dresses (proper party dresses iyswim) age 2-3 that need a home - would rather send em to one/two of you than freecycle! Just let me know

Friz - I am PAYG and it won't let me receive pics half the time (for some reasons the only ones it has ever agreed to were when my neplings were born... that may have been my old phone though ). It keeps saying "download failed"

CantSleepWontSleep · 09/02/2008 19:43

Hmmm - dd does have a party to go to next month, so if there's one that you think would suit her then you could bring it up with you.

Bathroom quote sounds not bad based on what we paid to do ours, but we were also shocked at the time how much it cost.

Replied on your other thread Phoenix, but if the blotches are on his feet, hands and in his mouth, then surely hand foot & mouth disease has to be a possibility .

Fresh beetroot EPPM. Dd adores it. We kept the brown leather sofas that we were going to change, as we figured it would be a wise plan whilst children were still little! Beige chair is alcantara so cleans quite well!

Room looks great Jas. Glad that dd is happy with it.

So, busy day here. In laws only wound me up a handful of times, but I managed to stay out of their way a lot of the time! Told a couple of the visiting friends that I was pregnant, but not the in-laws.

Am once again shattered, as been up since 5 with just 5.5 hrs sleep last night (well, not up since 5, but awake since 5).

DontDreamItBeIt · 09/02/2008 19:49

csws - We are definitely decided on Thursday next week for PWP if you are interested. Jus tex me when you get there if you come and I will find you.

OP posts:
mustrunmore · 09/02/2008 20:04

Why not telling the inlaws?

CantSleepWontSleep · 09/02/2008 20:17

Because it will just turn into another reason why they think I should stop feeding dd, and we're already very sick of them making comments about it.

Thanks Jas. May be going up to my parents for a couple of days, but if we're back in time then will def join you.

mustrunmore · 09/02/2008 20:25

Ah.

You have more patience than me you know. I'd have had a right wobbly by now, whatever it was, regardless of if I was right or not(because obv I'm always right) 5 days was absolute toleration point with MIL here last yr, remember, and all th comments about how I cant cook, people should only eat plain english food, I shouldnt nee to exercise if I have kids, our front room is an eyesore blah blah blah. Dh just prevented a huge row by pacifying me.

mustrunmore · 09/02/2008 20:28

Oh, forgot to say Macca. Dh spent ages and ages doing our bathroom (stil ont finished but very usable). But the other day we were sitting atround asking each other questions, like you do, and dl said our bathroom was the worst room in the house. Not that that affects your price!
Csws/Jas/Flame... which room would you have picked? We both chose kitchen, as did a friend./ Bathroom really suprised me, given that it has the tiles I really wanted, the dado tiles I really wanted, a cabinet my friend made for us etc etc, and its only th window and some edges to finish off really (apart from a new bath if we were loaded!). and the down side of not being abl t pput a shower in. Burt you get used to that.

Flamesparrow · 09/02/2008 20:31

I'd say kitchen too. I do like your kitchen though - very homey

Will bring the dresses, and if you don't like I can pass them onto the next person

CantSleepWontSleep · 09/02/2008 20:38

Ooh that's a tricky one.
Maybe he meant the bathroom just because it's not a huge room, rather than because of the decoration. It would be the weak point for me if I were looking to buy, because the kitchen has lots of space and therefore potential, and I could modernise it with new cupboards. I can't recall the specifics of the decoration in the bathroom, so it can't be bad (or exceptionally good), or I should be able to picture it.

EachPeachPearMum · 09/02/2008 21:01

Oh Phoenix! Poor ds. Hope he's feeling well soon. presumably iv abs work really quickly.

csws- the beige sofas were mine!!!! rofl- didn't know you had been considering, and we had ours long before we had dd. Just looked up alcantara- is it kind of suedey feel?

CantSleepWontSleep · 09/02/2008 21:04

A bit suedey yes, but without the bit of suede that sends shivers up my spine (in a bad way). Car seats are often made of it, but Ligne Roset offer it as a seat cover option on a lot of their stuff.

DontDreamItBeIt · 09/02/2008 21:25

I noticed the bathroom cabinet, it is lovely
If I was buying I gues the kitchen as I'd feel I had to replace things, but could quite happily live with the bathroom.
Even so I am very about your kitchen too as it is huge (compared to mine) with a nice view over the garden.

OP posts:
mustrunmore · 09/02/2008 21:30

Good, so I'm not just odd then! I'd love to do the kitchen, but dh reckons thst even f we had money, we wouldnt be doing it till the boys are alot older as it'll be such a nightmare Because we have to reflatten the floor etc first, the lot. He is, however, talkinhgg bout replacing a few wall units one by one. What an idiot. It lokks shit enough as it is, without all sorts of diff cupboards too!

mustrunmore · 09/02/2008 21:32

Thanks re the caqbinet! My friend made it just after he got his carpenrty apprenticewship. He's now some poncy high flier in th world of wood Just changed jobs, butthe last one he did for the old company was the new big Abercrombie &Fitch store in the west end.

KelBelle · 09/02/2008 21:41

I am doing very well for keeping up to date on here this week!!

Happy birthday to all the little ones that I have missed this week.

Phoenix - Hope your little one makes a good recovery soon, poor little thing. Not nice on his birthday either

Frizbe - hope your LO has no broken bones either it sounds very painful to me.

Had DS's birthday party today, had 8 toddlers plus mums, grandparents and a few other relatives and my living room was FULL!! Ds had a lovely time though and was absolutely shattered at the end of it. Not sure what I'm doing on his actual birthday yet though but he had a good time today.

Mummy is shattered here too so not going to be on here long, need some sleep!!! Was blowing balloons and doing party bags at 1am this morning!!!
