dont tell me make them as I dont have spuds either!

mustrunmore · 03/02/2008 10:23

Falme, what shall I do about ds2's desire to be naked? you having expernce and all that! Any nappy things that are easy for him to get down if he feels the need to we e in the loo, or shall I just go cold turkey with knickers, so to speak?

FlameNFurter · 03/02/2008 10:59

Cold turkey is about easiest, there are very few decent pull down nappies out there. Real gap in the market. I have a friend wanting to know about cloth pull ups for her downs boy (she is wanting the feeling of wetness), but I am struggling to think of anything suitable tbh.

Silly us for not knowing traditional Channukah food (most likely spelt VERY wrong, but no spell check on mum's computer)

kando · 03/02/2008 12:23

Can I wish my dd3, Elizabeth, a very happy 2nd birthday? Whilst I quietly sob in the corner because my baby is so grown up ... even though she did headbutt and bite her big sister this morning! I guess the terrible twos are on their way ...

mustrunmore · 03/02/2008 12:25

Hello! And Happy Birthday

flame, how close is Eastbourne to you? Or is it the other side of the bottom of the country?

CantSleepWontSleep · 03/02/2008 14:02

Happy Birthday Elizabeth!

mustrunmore · 03/02/2008 14:08

Ah, csws resurfaces! I'm on the computer for a change, and you're all of doing wekend things

FlameNFurter · 03/02/2008 14:10

Happy Birthday Elizabeth!

It is really weird thinking that DD was only a couple of weeks older than this when she was bridesmaid for us (and her arm was broken )

Erm... will google Eastbourne now - why??

FlameNFurter · 03/02/2008 14:14

lmao 2 1/2 hours!!!

mustrunmore · 03/02/2008 14:16

It must be far from you if you dont know!
Because... we're having a family holiday First ever 3 days in travelodge! Ds1 is excited about seeing a lighthouse But we do have to tel lour friends that we're not going camping wihthem now. Thought long and hard, and the fihting between ds1 and their ds jsuy isnt worth it, and we cant take the chance of being better by then. Booked this on earl;y discountthingy, so its alost as cgheap as camping anyway!

mustrunmore · 03/02/2008 14:18

I'vr just realised. REad A Clockwork Orange, and had no probs with the language; took to it easliy... just noticed its not disssimilat to my typing

lol at 2.5 hours!

DontDreamItBeIt · 03/02/2008 18:33

Happy birthday Elizabeth

PWP was today. (back to school tomorrow)Freezing cold, so didn't stay all day, but as I have a season ticket now, I don't care

I know I'm supposed to be doing something tomorrow, but haven't got i written down and can't remember.

Yes dame, by the third time round the idea of potty training a virtually non verbal bulldozer child has no appeal at all
I will probably not put him in the bed until I have to either. He goes o sleep in the cot, but is rarely lying downwhen I leave him,so can't imagine him staying in a bed lon enough to go to sleep

Frizbe · 03/02/2008 18:38

for your real holiday MRM, where are you going? or did I miss that?

CSWS sounds like a lovely idea for dd, I think she'll like that

Happy Birthday Elizabeth

Kel, glad you had a good night out

Waves at everyone else

Not a bad day here, took the dd's to meet some of my friends at Starbucks this am, quick wander around the shops, and a hasty exit from Gap, as their sales person was being most annoying. He kept asking me 'would you like any help' every few minutes, just because the dd's we're running around a bit they weren't the only kids in there and we were in the kid section, so I chose to leave and not spend any cash in there instead should have gotten his name and taken it further really.
Then we went to another friends for accidental lunch, just went to drop off her dd's birthday prezzie, but ended up lunch as well they did invite us bowling, but I thought me by myself trying to control the two much younger girls was asking for trouble, so we came home and made meatball lasagne instead

DontDreamItBeIt · 03/02/2008 18:42

Eastbourne, I assume

No holiday plans here DP has at least had a couple of calls from his adverts this week, so we may have a bit of money coming in soon.

I think our annual holiday will be two nights in the Grand Hotel (sounds great til you realise it is in Hartlepool )in two weeks.

Happy Birthday Elizabeth!

Potty training has gone brilliant this weekednd - only one pants accident and that was partially my fault for not really listening - ds just went cold turkey straight into pants (still nappy at sleeptime obviously though)

I also thought The Davinvi Code book was crap Jas, much to dh's annoyance as he raved about it

Did 5km yesterday and 3km today which is brilliant for me - first time I have 'run' 5km since last summer (and even then it threw it down and the track was waterlogged so I barely did any running), my legs are feeling it now though!

Just found out my bro's girlfriend of just 3months is pg (they have known each other 10years though), she wants to abort, he is desperate to keep it - what a mess.

mustrunmore · 03/02/2008 20:22

Eek, thats a dodgy situation [saf]
Well done on the potty traininig.
I'm still arsing about not actually running yet. Have just used 6 plasters to cover 2 blisters , and i will start now...

FlameNFurter · 03/02/2008 20:29

yay for potty training.

I am pondering running again. I just don't like doing it outside, I'm not doing Phoenix's lounge thing, and I can' afford a gym.

for the pregnancy situation

One year into Bumfluff, did the books today, and worked out stock (roughly, the plan for the next few weeks is stocktake and super spreadsheet with costs etc in) and, give or take a pound or two............

I broke even

JuA · 03/02/2008 20:36

Hello all! I have no time these days but just been having a read - can't believe my babies are 2!!

Very impressed that some of you are potty training! my two are showing a little bit of interest but we are hoping to move house in a couple of months so I figure there is no point starting anything before then, same goes for beds although I am tempted to keep them in cots until they are about 5 as they will never go to sleep if they realise they can get out of bed.

They are playing a bit better together now - had a long time when they would just hit or bite each other if I left them alone so may have a bit more time to post!

CantSleepWontSleep · 03/02/2008 20:59

JuA . Hello! Thought we had lost you to the dark side! Hope the girls enjoyed their birthday.

Yay for holiday mrm.

Yay for potty training Chloe.

Can I just say ow, ow, ow, ow, ow for my boobs please. Well, just my nips really. Guess they are a bit sore due to pregnancy, so feeding guzzler all day is Not Fun.

She's just going off to sleep now. Goodness knows when we'll get her back into a sensible sleep pattern. She crashed on my lap once our guests left at 4, and I just couldn't wake her until 5:30. No doubt she'll be up at 6 again in the morning.

I still have no idea what to do with her tomorrow. Somebody suggest something!

mustrunmore · 03/02/2008 21:03

A break even is very good for a first year

First of all Falme, whne you come up I'll take thew kids in the garden and you can have half an hour on thetreadmill each day. Secondly, you dont have to jog round the front room like looney bird did But jogging on the spot pushing heels up as much as you can is great exercise, esp if you combine with some armwork. As are lunges, stars, half stars, squats, all of which can be done at runnig pace (or Mika pace!) In fact, despite being a lardy slob who knnows nothing, i'm very willing to put together a 20-min-daily workout for you that can be done in ther space of your front room or toilet

mustrunmore · 03/02/2008 21:06

Are you aftr an invite csws?

You have all my nipple-sympathy, as i've just done a fastish 5km in a rubbing sports bra.Ouch. Er, are they huuugggee yet? I recall having a fantastic big chested figure 12 weeks into ds1 pg because I stayed slim till the end. But noone of that with ds2, just huge all over

CantSleepWontSleep · 03/02/2008 21:11

Boobs are still pretty much the size they were pre-pregnancy with dd - they never changed .

If I was after an invite I wouldn't be that subtle . Just emailed another local friend to see what she's up to, but not sure if she'll even check her mail, as she doesn't very often.

Sorry - knew I'd forgotten to comment on something. Break even seems tough after all the hard work you've put in, but if you have built a business for the future and not lost anything then I guess that is good.

mustrunmore · 03/02/2008 21:18

I know she's worked hard, but most businesses arent even breaking even for the first 2-3 years, s oI reckon its good Mind you, its not evens if you take into account how many nappies she personally owns

You're very welcome here. We have someone coming after nursery for an hour, buts thats not a problem. Plus you dont tend to stay long after that anyway!

How weird is this....... the girl that came to get the cot today used to live in the house opposite whe nshe was growing up, and her childminder lived here so she spent alot of her early years in my house!

FlameNFurter · 04/02/2008 07:44

Lol @ you two squabbling! Breaking even was all I had aimed for for the first year, I was working on MRM's theory that most don't stop making a loss for a couple of years.

It IS a bit disheartening to see it written down, but I have plans etc, so tis all ok.

Sympathy for hurty boobs.

@ the concept of me not dying after more than 5 mins on treadmill!!! The 20 min thing i can do in my loo does sound vaguely appealing though... I wanna be fit and have some stomach muscles.

(My bathroom is huge btw for anyone baffled )

I have a pilates dvd here, but it is doing it during the day with DS around that is a bit , and I can't be arsed in the evening.

Can't be arsed during the day today - He had no sleep yesterday, so went to bed at 7pm last night, and work at 9.30 assuming it was the end of a nap and time to be up. I brought him down with me for an hour, but then I wanted to go to bed. He was NOT amused. Many tears.

Finally got him sorted, then DD woke at 3.30am saying there was a bad smell - she had pooed herself in her sleep She has done it once before, both times she has been completely exhausted, she spent the rest of the night in our bed because she complained her room stank (to be fair, it did!).

Sooooooooo, lots of waking, and wriggly child in my bed who didn't want me covered by duvet - I wanna sleep!

FlameNFurter · 04/02/2008 07:44

Ooh weirdy cot lady thing!
