this is the story, I assume
Horrible

CaptainDyson · 10/01/2008 12:04

P has breakfast at 7.,30ish, lunch at 12ish and tea at 4.30pm. HTH - Think you should definitely consider feeding him a bit earlier. xx

Right, P awake, so going to give her lunch and then buzz off to take other 2 to nursery. xx

cazboldy · 10/01/2008 12:12

that's it. thanks you two.

StealthPolarBear · 10/01/2008 12:19

Would prefer he ate with us though, but if that means he doesn't eat it's not really any good.
The problem is if he doesn't eat with us, he will just cry while we eat, so we'll be back at the eating in shifts routine.
I'll see what happens at the weekend.

fpesha · 10/01/2008 12:25

What about feed him earlier and then when you eat give him some finger foods to nibble on, bit of fruit or baby biscuits or something to be his pudding?

cazboldy · 10/01/2008 12:26

can't you do both SPB? i.e feed him when he is hungry and again when you eat...it's what I have done with mine (although my 2 year old ds still has 2 breakfasts lol) gradually give them more at the same time as you eat and make the other time more of a snack, like fruit or a yoghurt or something?

StealthPolarBear · 10/01/2008 12:26

The only problem with that is it's another high chair / bib clean, unless I want to sit him in something squealchy
I know, I'm lazy!!

cazboldy · 10/01/2008 12:27

or peshas way...that appeared while I was typing!

fpesha · 10/01/2008 12:30

Sorry meant to Caz thats awful, truly horrific. And horses are such sensitive creatures I imagine they'll be hugely traumatised

And so for your sister too.

StealthPolarBear · 10/01/2008 12:31

Are people thinking "well if she's that lazy then I can't help her"?
Go on...I can take it

fpesha · 10/01/2008 12:33

After tea just give highchair a quick wipe with a baby wipe to pick up the big/squishy bits and unless the bib is really sticky just use the same one again! Presumably it wont be too long between his sittings so doesnt really matter.

Well thats what I do anyway

CaptainDyson · 10/01/2008 12:41

Yes, I'd do what Pesha does - I nearly always feed P before us and then she sits & eats again while we are eating - either bits off our plates (the older 2 think it is halarious) or fingery foods.

Off out now - laters ....

StealthPolarBear · 10/01/2008 12:48

Will give it a go and let you know!

Sexonlegs · 10/01/2008 12:49

Hi all, just a flying visit, as am at work.

Leaky, good to see you, and I am glad the funeral went well. Hope the house of your dreams comes up soon.

MJ, hope you are ok petal. x

Caz, I heard about the horses on the news yesterday. Absolutely horrific, and so distressing for your sister.
Whoever is responsible should be shot.

SPB, K is eating 3 times a day. She has:

7.30 milk and cereal (while the rest of us are having breakfast)

12.00 lunch on her own

2.30 milk

5.00 tea, with B

She sleeps after lunch which means I can stuff my face eat a healthy lunch!

Sexonlegs · 10/01/2008 12:50

Why doesn't the striking out word thing work when I try it!!!!!

fpesha · 10/01/2008 13:05

You have to have no life to be able to take ages to do each word one by one!

D has woken up after not even an hours sleep. Did this yesterday too. I'd been enjoying my little midday breaks

NorthernLurker · 10/01/2008 13:10

I am a very bad mother when it comes to meal times - basically girls and I usually have breakfast at the same time - lunch obviously they are at scholl so I tend to feed B then have mine as she plays or naps. Tea - B and the girls eat at the same time but dh and I are very naughty and eat later - sometimes much later. In my defence may I say that at the weekend we eat together more and indeed it's very important to us that Sunday lunch is still a sit down altogether time. On Sundays I feed B first and then she gnaws at bits - gets on well with Yorkshire pudding! Further in my defence can I say that both big girls have perfectly adequate table manners and are more than capable of carrying on conversations with adults
(NL slinks away guiltly)

Sexonlegs · 10/01/2008 13:27

Nowt wrong with that NL

NorthernLurker · 10/01/2008 13:29

Thanks SOL

mammyjo · 10/01/2008 13:35

Agree, nothing wrong with that NL. Tbh, I dont think there are that many families that could realistically all sit down to eat together every day. We try to have tea together at about 5pm, but that is too late for F so she normally gets fed around 4pm, but will have picky bits with us too.

And.............I am going to runny's house today!! She has very kindly offered to have me and the dc's round and ds is having tea with J! Hope I will be reasonable company

mammyjo · 10/01/2008 13:36

Oh and NL, that does not make you a bad mother.

NorthernLurker · 10/01/2008 13:46

Thanks Mammyjo as well - makes me feel much better. At least none of you have passed out in horror! Although actually if you had you wouldn't be posting to say so would you (gulp). Have a lovely time mammyjo and runny!

It's pouring here and B and I have to venture out - into town first for a few bits and then the school run. Wish me luck!

Sexonlegs · 10/01/2008 13:49

Can I come to tea too???? Avoid fil . grrrrrrr.

Have a lovely time MJ and Runny.

mammyjo · 10/01/2008 13:53

Oh yes, come to tea with runny and me!! Much nicer place to be than with fil!

mammyjo · 10/01/2008 13:54

Really hope it goes ok sol, and that he is bearable xx
