Boiling tar

NorthernLurker · 08/01/2008 22:20

I'm not that much older than Dippy!

Hmmmmm thinking - is he in York itself - or villages outside?

CaptainDyson · 08/01/2008 22:21

I hope not, my Uncle is considerably older than NL and is completely insane.

Octothechildherder · 08/01/2008 22:22

Hereditary per chance?

CaptainDyson · 08/01/2008 22:22

Acomb actually.

Octothechildherder · 08/01/2008 22:22

wtf does that mean?

NorthernLurker · 08/01/2008 22:23

That's right POTC I'm a double posting bloke with a suspicously large knowledge of breastfeeding, childbirth and porridge.

By the way I've tried the super porridge - very nice - but v bland - looked just look like ready brek - but twice the price

Octothechildherder · 08/01/2008 22:23

Pleas elet it be a place and not a word I don;t know

CaptainDyson · 08/01/2008 22:25

Of course, Octo

NorthernLurker · 08/01/2008 22:25

Oh that explains a lot - an awful lot

Acomb - as Dippy is doubtless also informing you is a suburb of York - what she won't be saying is that they are all well weird down that way

CaptainDyson · 08/01/2008 22:26

Yes, Acomb is a place.

PillockOfTheCommunity · 08/01/2008 22:26

pmsl
you can predict your x posts now NL

And yes, they are all weird.

NorthernLurker · 08/01/2008 22:28

We lived in Acomb briefly - we were desperate

CaptainDyson · 08/01/2008 22:33

CaptainDyson · 08/01/2008 22:34

Really need to have emoticon that does that.

CaptainDyson · 08/01/2008 22:35

Anyway, going to bed now as am tired. Night all. xxxx

NorthernLurker · 08/01/2008 22:42

Good night Dippy - I'm emptying the dishwasher and eating Ben and Jerrys here

elkiedee · 08/01/2008 23:28

Hi all, thanks for the sympathy and for making me laugh - I needed it - re the windy chick pea incident and weird suburbs especially.

Police came this morning and this afternoon - the second lot were Scene of the Crime Officers and looked for foot or fingerprints but I suspect it might have been too late by then. Entry was definitely forced and they advised to assume that the burglar left by the window too. To be honest, once someone's got in and taken things I'm glad we didn't wake up, I think that would have been far more frightening.

I spoke to the insurance company this afternoon - they would have tried to get someone out to secure the property but we thought we're ok for tonight and Lou, our builder (carpenter by trade) will give us a quote which we can phone through to them tomorrow. I have to try and find evidence of the things that were taken - I have lots for the camera and some for one of the ipods.

I actually do keep lots of things that might be vaguely useful, like all my receipts - therein is part of a problem - I can't find the genuinely important stuff among the rubbish at the moment, and have resolved to put all the really serious stuff together separately from the frivolous things.

elkiedee · 08/01/2008 23:30

I assume Dippy went to bed during the hour when I was writing that post and doing several other things and getting interrupted. Hi or goodnight to anyone still awake, as appropriatem.e

NorthernLurker · 08/01/2008 23:31

Hi Elkie - sounds like you've got things well under control - good about receipts - my dh is brill at stuff like that - I am a disaster area - before we were together I used to throw my bank statements in the bin and I thought balancing a cheque book was some sort of circus act off to bed now!

StealthPolarBear · 09/01/2008 08:20

Morning
Lol at "Acomb, actually" - think that needs to be the next thread title!
T is currently eating my calorie counter book!
SOL, sounds like you definitely need to work late, sorry if my last post sounded a bit terse, was typing in the pitch black as waiting for T to fall asleep so using as few words as possible!
No sensory stuff for us either Dippy if you do one in York we might visit and make a day of it, we love York as well

Sexonlegs · 09/01/2008 09:29

Morning all - just nipping in before we head to Baby Sensory!!!!
They are always looking for people as franchisees.......

Elkie glad things are getting sorted re your flat.

NL, absolutely pmsl at balancing a cheque book being a circus act! My thoughts entirely!

SPB, your post wasn't terse at all my lover.

Hope everyone has had good nights, and all ailments, illnesses are going/gone.

Right, best go - no idea where I am going and the sat nav is back at the suppliers being fixed!!!

Sexonlegs · 09/01/2008 09:29

Dippy meant to say, I didn't know you originate from Salisbury. My parents live there. Did you go to school there? Where did you live??
