LOL at not visiting in the rain.

We just had a lovely trip out. Lunch at Pizza Express. DD was ever so good. She sat in the highchair and ate most of the food we took for her, then sat on my lap and sucked on some of my pizza, then had a tiny taste of my ice cream. We then called at Sainsburys and the swings on the way home and she was smiles all the way

Not convinced that many places were open today, but we got lunch and weetabix so we were happy

justbeme · 01/01/2008 16:25

Hi all - sounds like some of you had ok nights and others not so good!
We're back from a long walk (DP's outside cleaning the pram wheels!)
I still get pains in my undercarriage from long walks/sitting down for too long - does any one else?

So has anyone got anything to look forward to in 2008? Cant say I have at the moment - (Oh apart from getting my new ring made up!)

sputnik · 01/01/2008 17:05

Will catch up properly later, meanwhile Happy New Year to everyone.

We spent NYE with in-laws, and exchanged xmas pressies too. Can I make a late entry in the bizarre present contest? MIL got me a cheese wire and some fishnet tights
The cheese wire I'm 99% sure is a recycled gift, but I can't imagine anyone giving her fishnets so she must've got them specially for me.

Anyway I'm a miserable old git so didn't really have that great a time, didn't get to see the fireworks as the baby was crying, as they do.

sputnik · 01/01/2008 17:07

Was planning a bath but DH has fallen asleep

we went for a drive to look at the sea, not very eco but we tracked down some doritos! (would have gone for a walk but it was raining).

hop;e you have a netter night at home sputnik.

In 2008 I am looking forward to-

Midsomer Murders and 3 Men in Another Boat (that's just tonight though)
DH being better and getting the best job ever
going on my diet next week and getting fit (I am looking forward to it in a weird way)
and, the best treat ever ... seeing my sister and meeting my niece, and having my sister meet ds2&3
and getting ds3 christened when MIL on holiday [evil grin]

thisisRialifebaby · 01/01/2008 17:35

oh, and the boys going back to school so they can only fight before 9am and after 3.30!

milkyJammy · 01/01/2008 18:08

JBM no pains or anything, but when I had a smear test last week I was told to restart the pelvic floor exercises as it was rather weak

What am I looking forward to in 2008? Mmmm, another 12 months with DD; going to see the Mighty Boosh live in November; hopefully sorting myself out and losing some weight again (going to the doc this week, having admitted to self that depression is coming back. Hope that I can get some help with that and if I feel better that I can be bothered to look after self better)

HellHathNoFury · 01/01/2008 18:13

Sorry to hear about depression JBM. I hope the doc can help.

HellHathNoFury · 01/01/2008 18:13

JBM?!
JAMMY

thisisRialifebaby · 01/01/2008 18:22

is it PND or something from before jammy? if that's not being too nosey.
...not that either is easier than the other.

asking for help is meant to be the first step though.

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 01/01/2008 18:30

Sorry JBM and jammy are feeling a bit despondant

You know you can always come and talk on here if you need to.

I must admit I had an "OMG how much longer can I keep doing this moment today?".

I'm off to reinstate the June mummies want flat tummies thread!

HellHathNoFury · 01/01/2008 18:30

I don't want to go back to work

milkyJammy · 01/01/2008 18:32

I had ADs for a year prior to getting pregnant. They did a pretty good job but I only stopped them when I got pregnant. I felt OK through the pregnancy and for the first bit, but the old feelings have been coming back. Not as bad as before so far, but enough to upset me (and DH) and I want to get it sorted.

milkyJammy · 01/01/2008 18:38

Sorry, Fury

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 01/01/2008 18:38

Oh fury It's shit isn't it?

Jammy, hope you feel better soon

milkyJammy · 01/01/2008 18:43

Bumper & Fury (seeing as we're all here together) do you still fancy a pub lunch some time soon? At a weekend with the DHs? I'd recommend a pub on the North side of Oxford - does fab food, though need to get there early as gets v.busy and can't reserve tables.

LittleMissNorty · 01/01/2008 18:48

Fury - you'll be fine! Remember you gave me a talking to a few weeks ago about going back to work - well you were right - I enjoy being a working mother, DD benefits and so do I.....at least S isn't going back to the crap CM and you are not going back to your old crappy job! He'll love nursery....K does...its great there and the staff are lovely.

Good luck for tomorrow - you'll be fine!

Hello everyone else...

Jammy...sorry to hear about your depression....get to the docs.......

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 01/01/2008 18:49

Yeah that would be good. Would have to be a Saturday though as DH works on Sundays.

Come and get motivated

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 01/01/2008 18:50

Norty is right. And I can't believe how awful your CM was. You aren't going to give her a reference are you?

LittleMissNorty · 01/01/2008 18:50

mmmm what have I got coming up in 2008.....my 40th is all I can think of....and DDs 1st birthday of course

milkyJammy · 01/01/2008 18:50

I am going Norty, on Thursday. I'm seeing the same GP who saw me before, and I'm hopeful that she'll help again

HellHathNoFury · 01/01/2008 18:54

Oh I will give her a refernce all right.

"CM feeds breakfast at 10am and lunch and 4pm, meaning DS was never hungry for dinner. CM occasionally forgot other feeds. Despite me providing clothes changes, DS always came home utterly filthy. Also CM was a firm advocate of no more than 3 nappy changes in an 11 hour period"

OR

I could say " CM looked after DS like he was one of her own".
If you saw her own you'd see no good reference....
Miaow

LMN you are right, I DO sort of want to go back to work but I will miss DS. And I am scared of the utter exhaustion as I have a 4 hour commute.

Jammy, Bumper, yes bring it on but not for a couple of weeks yet as I am busy next weekend!
