I think I may have eaten several thin people whilst asleep (in a freaky sci-fi nasty kind of way)

I am going to read bumper's thread later, I really only buy from charity shops for myself (I think that's why my mum gave me vouchers for xmas!), and always feel smug & upmarket if I buy from Oxfam cos it's more expensive than the others...

back later.

DH is trying to talk me into having fish and chips for dinner - I think he is the devil!
Had a quick look at Bumpers thread and it did make me chuckle a bit I know that makes me a bad person! I think it's great I realy do (oh god that sounds patronising now - I'll shut up) I too am obviously the devil

Report
HellHathNoFury · 02/01/2008 18:50

I just read Bumpers thread.

Some of me is desperate to say 'And me! And me!'

But I don't think I'd be very good at it. This week I bought a new camera and spent £30 on clothes for DS, and I spent £350 on my monthly train ticket, and £150 on my car park ticket, and I start a new job tomorrow and can't guarantee I won't eat in the canteen or buy new clothes.

Now I feel like a consumerism whore.

Report
DKMA · 02/01/2008 18:56

I too am a whore Fury!
I can't wait to shed this fat and buy new clothes
I also don't like the thought of wearing 2nd hand clothes. When I have a clearout - I do give my old shit stuff to charity shops, but I'd never go and buy stuff in there to wear myself.
I know I deserve to be stoned - I am hanging my head in shame

HellHathNoFury · 02/01/2008 18:57

DKMA I am the devil too.

To tell you the truth... I COULD do it... and a little bit of me wants to...but I really WANT to buy some new bedsheets from Next.
And I do just like having new things sometimes. So I think I will just stick to being an advertisers best friend

LOL DKMA

Ok, let's go shopping and worry about the credit card bills when we're dead

On a side note....
DS started at nursery today and seemed to have a whale of a time. it's all good!

DKMA · 02/01/2008 19:12

Thats great Fury
Lo's nursery seen great at keeping them busy all day which is great for my little fella cos he gets bored v easily.
Did he have his naps ok, feed well and come home in a clean nappy?

Report
HellHathNoFury · 02/01/2008 19:26

fretful naps but he's like that at home. Ate well but not much milk - again, like that at home. I am sure in his opinion he has been ready to drop the milk feeds at 4 months.
Yes, home in a clean nappy.

Really good nursery, DH went there for the first time today and was equally impressed.

What's yours like?

I have to say ladies that I'm with you on wanting NEW sheets, not 2nd hand. Though I happily go to hotels etc where the sheets have been used by countless people before me

I am also one who hasn't bought any clothes from charity shops (except for fancy dress stuff when i was a student. Oh yes, I remember going to look through Oxfam's racks for something for the "bad taste" party adn finding an identical dress to one in my mum's wardrobe that I'd always particularly hated. So I wore it and everyone commented on how hideous it was, which was great until Mum asked me what I'd worn) though I do give stuff to them.

DKMA · 02/01/2008 19:41

this is lo's nursery.
He seems very happy there so far. They keep him busy, he has good naps, feeds well and always comes home clean and full of chat
He's not done a full day yet tho - so we'll see - but it's looking good so far.

HellHathNoFury · 02/01/2008 19:51

looks good!!

This is ours. Just a little private place.
He didn't come home clean - bits of banana and strawberry on his clothes. I guess it happens.

If I have any really nice clothes I sell them on ebay otherwise I give my old stuff to the people that come round and collect them.
I have never worn second hand clothes. I think I am a snob. Perhaps this comes from years of wearing hand me downs when I was little? Don't mind giving them to DS though

DKMA · 02/01/2008 20:06

Looks nice
Plenty of toys!
I think Lo reckons our house is rubbish now as we don't have as many cool toys!
Not to mention a swimming pool, pony, sensory garden, maze, rabbits etc etc etc (but he's not noticed them yet!)

Hello

DD sometimes comes home a bit grubby - but as long as she's happy that's the important thing...

Good luck you two for tomorrow

Report
LittleMissNorty · 02/01/2008 20:08

she gets grubby here as well....I don't do all this changing her 5 times a day.....only if she pukes badly...got enough washing without any more

Report
HellHathNoFury · 02/01/2008 20:10

Thanks Norty

Good luck DKMA! And why can't our nursery have a pony and pool....

I am off to bed now. I am SHATTERED.
Night all!

Sorry gonna have a rant - very pissed off with preciouslittleone.com.....e-mailed them about a car seat - maxi cosi whatsit that Holly recommended....they are selling the isofix one for £169 (VERY good price) but are out of stock....so I e-mail them (very politely) and ask when it will be back in stock and will they keep that price.....the reply today was "We don't have any dates at the moment for when we will be getting any more in stock. You will need to keep checking our website for stock availability"

My reply: "Thank-you for being so spectacularly unhelpful ? I shall ensure that my money is spent with a company who will appreciate my business ? obviously not yourselves. I do hope your customer service skills are usually a bit better than this"

BASTARDS

AIBU do you think?

Ummm, I need to raise something ...

and you might think I'm a bit silly ...

but I have a problem with this thread title.

Tell me to bugger off if you like, I might be over-sensitive but I'm thinking of Daisy.

If you think it's not going to be an issue, I will gladly wind my neck in - and I know it was not intended to cause any upset, so I don't want to make FairyFay feel bad in any way, and I AM taking it out of the context in which it is meant ...

but ...umm ... well ...

Sorry

I think a little bit of strawberry and banana is OK? better than chocolate (not for me of course, but I suppose for the LOs) and much better than wee, poo or sick, and they do say dirt is fun (is it?)

I can be a bit funny though, most of the time I take great pride in my boys being clean, ironed, matching etc (someof that is the desire to stick two fingers up at the people who muttered when I had DS1 at 19...) but then I'll have an off day when I don't seem to notice and we go out with them looking like little slum urchins, THEN I notice

I wouldn't buy bedding, towels or underwear 2nd hand. A lot of my bedding stuff was from my great aunts and grans when their houses were cleared (you know how old ladies have cupboards full of new sheets but only use two sets ever?). I don't think I am a good enough person to join the thread actually (I read two or three posts and felt a bit inadequate). The downside of buying clothes for me is that I always look like hell in a blender! Probably easier to get nice stuff if you are thinner.

don't worry foxy, I think out of context it could be upsetting, but we know FF didn't mean it that way and I'm sure daisy would know that too, but I'm sure she would be touched we though of her.

And as we don't like anyone to be unhappy on here ...

I'm crap at thread titles

June 07 - another year, another baby anyone? is my best shot.
