Sorry, not a great title but I really am totally brain dead these days

onions, carrots, lentils, bacon, stock.

I normally make it with bacon stock the day after boiling a bacon joint, and use leftover bacon bits from the joint in the soup. I baked a ham for Xmas and am using some of that with goose stock as we don't have bacon stock this time.

annobal · 30/12/2007 18:00

Sounds nice. May try that tomorrow for dinner - we have kedgeree for lunch (DCs love it I found out recently).

BTW I am not normally this organised but I went to Sainsburys today...

HellHathNoFury · 30/12/2007 18:02

DS had his first chicken roast dinner with gravy today. He is loving it and has started packing on the pounds and getting dead chubby - a relief since when he was with the CM he was put on the FTT list as he was really dropping down the centiles.
Stupid CM.
He also has an addiction to custard. At least he is getting his calcium

DH says he wants 6 or 7 kids. I have told him I am not a broodmare and can we revisit the situation (and my stretch mark quota) at 3 please.

He is a fab dad though, very involved, in fact he is bathing DS right now so I can chill out.

annobal · 30/12/2007 18:09

Fury! NOoooooooo!

DH is talking about going for the snip - I think he's going to go with a couple of friends who have also hit their quota

annobal · 30/12/2007 18:10

DH is also a good dad - he's bathing all 3 at the moment. I just heard the words - 'don't ask me to scratch your bum again - that is above and beyond the call of daddy duties..'

hi everyone thanks for all the good wishes have had friends over today so haven't been able to log on
I feel much better today and am going to drive dhs car tomorrow so I don't lose my nerve. The garage are coming tomorrow to assess my car as well so will decide if it is worth repairing or not there is probably 2.5k of damage and it is worth about 3 so may not be much in it
I am getting a new one at the end of march anyway so think we will manage till then if mine is not repaired

no more babies for us here and you lot are not too old I am 42 and dh is 40 so we must be the geriatric couple according to you lot

Sleep well tonight Andie. Good luck tomorrow .

I bought DH a rowing machine for Christmas and he's just going down to the kitchen to try it out. Think we're all on a New Year splurge...

FairyFay · 30/12/2007 19:50

Hello everyone. Definitely no more babies here.... for a while anyway. I'd secretly really quite like a third but DH says no way. We shall see in a couple of years' time, maybe he can be persuaded. However, my undercarriage is still really suffering post DS and I am going to see a consultant next week so it may not be a great idea anyway.

I have just heard that a really good friend is 18 months pg, which has made me all smiley as her last baby died just before the 12 week scan and she's been through a really tough time.

derlorfeelsabout90 · 30/12/2007 19:52

18 months pg FF??????? LOL

FairyFay · 30/12/2007 19:54

Hmm, yes that would be impressive, and painful wouldn't it

OP posts:
derlorfeelsabout90 · 30/12/2007 19:58

my sister is also 18 weeks pg. she has a very demanding lovely 13 month old DD.......there may be trouble ahead!!!

derlorfeelsabout90 · 30/12/2007 19:58

need to put DD1 to bed - later x

FairyFay · 30/12/2007 20:02

FairyFay · 30/12/2007 20:09

I'm off too. It's our first night home from my parents' and DH is out so I am going to lie in bed and listen to the radio, my idea of bliss.....

Big age gaps are good, my big sis is 14 years older than me.

Does DS go to a nursery now fury? I have missed too much. How did you get on with your watch?

My friend has not arrived to collect her pets. That must mean they are staying until tomorrow. Oh well.

thisisRialifebaby · 30/12/2007 20:20

about 90 what derlor? do they have to queue up or do you have really big hands and feel them all at once?

can you tell I'm bored?

HellHathNoFury · 30/12/2007 20:51

DS starts nursery next week. I think it is poopy pants as I want to be a SAHM (although I reckon I would get bored/frustrated/depressed before long) but the nursery is invariably better than the childminder who seemed to think that he could change his own nappy and survive on air alone. Milk?! Who needs milk? Daft bitch.

I start my new job next week (eek nerves insert 'shitting oneself' emoticon here). But it's only for 6 months then I get to be gainfully unemployed again. I am sure I can pretend to be productive for 6 months.

Didn't do watch today, too much to do at home, going to town first thing in the morning.

Ria glad you are back, this thread needs some laughter, you have missed some interesting times ;-)

I came back. I am seriously beginning to worry about my brain. When I went into the kitchen to turn off the lights I remembered that I am making banoffee pie for tomorrow night so I was simmering condensed milk for the toffee, so I had to finish that off. God knows what would have happened if I'd just gone off to bed - I suspect the tins would have exploded and my kitchen would have been re-decorated but not in a way I'd like. I want my brain back {foot stamping emoticon}

OP posts:
FairyFay · 30/12/2007 21:51

But it looks like everyone else went away, sigh, so I suppose I better had too.

HellHathNoFury · 30/12/2007 21:57

I had a friend that did that once FF. The whole ceiling was covered in caramel. Took us hours to get it off. Dead funny though

morning. DH took over the computer last night so I watched the Heartbeat funeral instead.

my older boys are driving me mental this morning.

I am NOT filled with joy at the prospect of a nice fresh crisp new year, because that is media hype designed by champagne salespeople.

My friend has still not got in touch re collection of her pet. When I found out I was having them on Thurs it was from 9am (FFS) on Friday until Sunday or Monday, whichever was best for me. I got a message lasy night to say oh dear it's too late now, will text in the morning. Well, it's nearly lunchtime...

Hope she doesn't read this.

Have you spent a lot of time in Filey MHC? I prefer it in winter.
