When IS your birthday MRM?

for own present wrapping Phoenix - that's crappy!

Exhausted. DD finally realised she was empty at about3am, but then kept waking to moan a bit. Luckily DH is only on half days so he took money for car park and left us here.

mustrunmorewantsanewname · 28/12/2007 09:01

Btw, I havent had my xmas card from the boys yet, as dh 'didnt get time to get them to fill it in' I give up!

Birthday is end of Jan. Dh is middle of Jan. He's on a late shift both days (leaves 11am gets home 11pm)

EachPeachPearMum · 28/12/2007 17:42

mrm- it must be love....(re ds1 and P csws)

FlamesparodyOfAChristmasName · 28/12/2007 18:30

Argh! Forgetting it (imo) is acceptable. Not giving it when you get back isn't!

I am calmer tonight (odd with sod all sleep, but I think the lovely people from Apple have a lot to be thanked for... I can drown out small children and sing out of tune to my heart's content I do feel sorry for DH though )

Frizbe · 28/12/2007 19:36

at your singing then Flame, MRM is right don't be so hard on yourself, bugs go around, ce la vie. Hope you're all better soon though.

MRM purse sounds good

CSWS don't tell me things like that! it was one of dd1's most expensive prezzies!!

Jas, I didn't notice anything wrong with your back either? but EPPM is right, you need to go get it re assessed if its killing you. Do you think osteo could help? or chiro?

Sooo both girls shattered here, dh and I have just put them both to bed, he's downstairs now playing top trumps with ss, who has just had fun opening all his prezzies with the girls. I'm in more bother though, as dd2 forgot to buy ss a present it appears (nothing to do with the fact that I didn't know what dh had gotten him until Xmas eve and even then I didn't know he'd not wrapped 'owt for ss from dd2 )

mustrunmorewantsanewname · 28/12/2007 20:28

Well, I did get the card of dh himself, so he got 50% right!

Frizbe, yep, purse is great.. if he gets it Itsthe perfect size and design!

Right, have booked myslef a child-free day tomorrow. Dh is spending time with the boys (am guessing magic maize, moonsand, and garden to freeze!). I have just cooked him a roast dinner to have when he gets in , before csws goes on about how much I take advantage of him! Its the pork he bought because he was so sure he'd 'need' it for bkxing day when we got home, even though it takes 2 hours to cook and we knew we would still be full from xmas dinner

So, what shaall I do tomorrw? Too much choice! Tempted to have a scoot round brent x for H&M (ds2 clothes for my Dad to buy), and we have £20 of JL vouchers (but will prob spend those in Waitrose TBH), and I do love WHSmiths sale. But its also such a waste to just go in the shops. I'm going to take a book incase I decide to make a coffee last 4 hours or so
I used to love it as a child when you'd get to go and spend your xmas vouchers. And Mrcsws remended me about having a pressie actually on the tree. I'd forgotten that. Nostalgia!

FlamesparodyOfAChristmasName · 28/12/2007 20:46

Train trip to Bournemouth...

mustrunmorewantsanewname · 28/12/2007 20:51

It crossed my mind

FlamesparodyOfAChristmasName · 28/12/2007 21:00

I've got to get a flask engraved and go to Game, other than that I am free

FlamesparodyOfAChristmasName · 28/12/2007 21:03

I always get that happen Friz Everything is 1/2 price the day after I bought it. I did make double on iggle piggle though

I feel sure SS will be fiiiiiiiiiine. DD2 is a bit young to send out shopping anyway.

DS wasn't keen on going to bed tonight. DD bounced her way there and promptly passed out within 30 second

CantSleighWontSleigh · 28/12/2007 21:13

Go to a gym, have a really good workout, then relax in the sauna with a good book, before going for a long coffee.

Friz - buy one in the sale, then take it back using the receipt for the full price one, and ask for a refund!

So, we went to in-laws today. When she put out nibbles she moaned when we ate them (there were plenty there still at the end), and when we were having dessert, dh chose mince pies, and she said he couldn't have the good ones, but she had some burnt ones in the kitchen that he could have. WTF?!

FlamesparodyOfAChristmasName · 28/12/2007 21:15

@ "good workout" oxymoron if ever there was one

@ your ILs - sounds like all fun and laughs then

CantSleighWontSleigh · 28/12/2007 21:26

The mrms met the in-laws. They came for Christmas day. mrm said that FIL seemed nice (which of course speaks volumes about MIL)!

mustrunmorewantsanewname · 28/12/2007 21:26

I quite like your inlaws, although I did notice quite a few comments that would have infuriated me if it was my MIL directing them at me 'that Grandad', as ds1 called him whe nwe were talking about xmas, is lovely But like I said, I dont get on with females as a rule!

You know csws, I'd love to do your idea. But am not in a gym now, as you know. The council one can be pay as you go, but only once you've done their induction (£22 and needs booking).

I seem to recall trying to escape to Bournemouth before, with the boys, and realising it was a very long way! But I guess there's no limit to travel times when you're an adult!
Erm, are there shops and stuff? How much would a train be?Is it direct now, as opposed to some random thing then a bus, like earlier in the year?
Can you tell I'm tempted?

mustrunmorewantsanewname · 28/12/2007 21:27

That was a good cross post!

FlamesparodyOfAChristmasName · 28/12/2007 21:41

Eek! Unless you have a railcard or book a week in advance it is £35 it is one train though, you get the 8,45 from waterloo and arrive here at 11am

mustrunmorewantsanewname · 28/12/2007 21:46

Yep, just looked at that. I'm going to give myself an hour to ponder. £35 is a big negative! Maybe we could go with the other plan you had, or the one before that (the half way thing) one day soon?!
Am also thinking I could get a run in tomorrow if I stay relatively close to home. Out all day, slink inafte hours so I donr have to do bedtime then do a bit on the treadmill.

Erm ideas for Mrmrm's birthday pressie please...am at a loss, totally...

FlamesparodyOfAChristmasName · 28/12/2007 21:50

Either or both of those plans are very much on offer

Erm... so something to top the shredder and the anti-bac gel?

Phoenix · 28/12/2007 21:53

Evening

dh dropped ds off at my parents earlier today to sleep there like he normally does on a friday night. Ds kicked up a bit of a fuss when dh left him but as soon as my mum asked him if he wanted to get in the bath he was fine and gave dh a kiss and waved goodbye. Dh forgot to leave the pushchair for tomorrow so texted me to drop the one out of my car there on my way home from work. I walked into parents and ds ran and jumped into my arms and would not let me leave without him so he ended up coming home. Its very strange though cos normally when i go to my parents to bring him home after work its them he doesn't want to leave.

I've just took my christmas tree and cards down. I've left the lights up in the window and outside but i'm sick of the tree now We always put it up in the 1st week of Dec but take it down normally new years day but i got it in my head that i wanted it down today so have just done it.

I've forgot everything i was gonna say now

mustrunmorewantsanewname · 28/12/2007 21:54

Well, I should point out that I have already bought his pressie from the boys. In the Tesco sale. £1.12. Ita a hammer with a bottle opener on one end (where the claw should be)

Dh is off on Thursday too, so that means I might be able to get some free time then too, just to add another slant to the dilemma!

mustrunmorewantsanewname · 28/12/2007 21:55

My lights keep falling down, and the cards keep flyinf off the bookcase, so I'm very inclined to dismantle everything too I was born with no patience.

CantSleighWontSleigh · 28/12/2007 22:51

Come and stick your oars in here please!

mustrunmorewantsanewname · 28/12/2007 23:02

Have done

Phoenix · 28/12/2007 23:14

I've read it but not added to it, i think mrm's sinking it into the ground idea is a an option or swap it for a round one with a net thing, ds loved the trampolines he went on on holiday this year (so did i )

EachPeachPearMum · 28/12/2007 23:38

No she hasn't! I'm here, I'm just ogling looking at property porn
