Is it too soon to mention Christmas?

Pesha · 01/12/2007 21:06

Sory yes should have put a tmi warning on it! SOL will love it though!

at £300, thats more than a new one surely?!

NorthernLurkerwithastarontop · 01/12/2007 21:18

Oh yes - about £50 more as saw a good offer on line - we don't pay that though - just the call out & labour charge (£80)and that's it Next time it goes though - that might be curtains

Pesha · 01/12/2007 21:21

You' think it'd be an insurance write off though wouldn't you and they'd just give you a new one?!

NorthernLurkerwithastarontop · 01/12/2007 21:26

apparently whirlpool are very good - and their machines are too - we bought the parts guarantee at the time we bought the machine and it's good for 8 years!! Still got 20 months left on it. Machine does get a lot of use - but has worked perfectly till this year.

Pesha · 01/12/2007 21:29

8 years thats really good! I have hotpoint

And omfg its a saturday night and I'm discussing washing machine cover and baby poo What has happened to me?!?!

NorthernLurkerwithastarontop · 01/12/2007 21:30

Yes it's brill - and yes we need to get a grip - off to eat curry with dh now

Pesha · 01/12/2007 21:33

LOL we had chish and fips - inspired by...um...Eddas? Dp now watching wildhogs while I drink stella!

Sexmasonlegs · 01/12/2007 21:48

Pesha, bring on the poo talk!! Loving it!

No idea what it means tho, the poor chap. Have you googled it!!??

There must be some washing machine psychic shit going on, as ours doesn't seem to be spinning/draining very well. Grrrrrrr.

I think it was Caz who had the fish and chips wasn't it?

Just watched X Factor. Cannot believe that Same Difference are still in- wtf is that all about??? They are so awful.

Right, off to bed in a mo, so see you in the a.m. xx

liath · 01/12/2007 22:06

Pesha, I'd guess that it just means your ds has had a fairly rapid gut transit for some reason - it's really common in toddlers and known in the trade as "peas and carrot stools". Lovely . Presumably no rotting cabbage smell???

Actually since ds's tummy bug I put all his nappies and wraps on long washes with tea-tree oil and the compost smell is a lot better so I'm blaming foosty nappies .

All quiet from dd - no puking yet.

elkiedee · 01/12/2007 22:14

Quick post to say hi all, we can probably go home tomorrow as all the important stuff in terms of the kitchen being usable will be done by then. I can't wait!

Sorry to hear your test wasn't positive, Dippy, after all the excitement it's an anticlimax. I'm amused by how excited we all got.

WO, sorry to hear that you're so stressed, hope things ease for you. And Pesha, I can think of lots of reasons that have nothing to do with smoking or not that are likely to explain why you're more stressed now than you were then. Sounds like you've both done well to keep off the cigs for so long, would be a shame to lapse now. I keep worrying that dp will relapse on that front when things get tough between us.

Peshanearth · 01/12/2007 22:32

Liath no idea what rotting cabbage smells like Did smell vile though.

He seems perfectly happy, in fact he's still wide awake playing on the floor atm

Elkie I know you're right. But I also know I shouldnt be eating cold muller rice at this time of night yet I still am!

Sexmasonlegs · 02/12/2007 09:09

Morning!

Don't tell me you are all still in bed!

Liath, hope you had a vomit-free night.

Pesha, how is D now?

Elkie, hope the kitchen is all sorted soon.

All grand here. Just wondering what we are going to do today with such pants weather.
xx

jingleoooggs · 02/12/2007 09:57

Sexmasonlegs · 02/12/2007 10:51

Has everyone been blown away in the wind???

So bored and can't get motivated. The weather is truly awful.

jingleoooggs · 02/12/2007 13:58

RudolphtherEDDASnosedreindeer · 02/12/2007 14:06

Wasn't me with the fish and chips. Not sure about the poo either Pesha

We had a night off the dc's last night. Didn't say anything to MIL about possible Pox, but they just brought them home and said ds does have the pox. They said he was fine last night and this morning has quiet a few spots. Seems ok with it though.

We now have gates up. No decorations as yet but that's the next job.

StealthPolarBear · 02/12/2007 14:25

All the best, SPB! Hopefully you'll be back before Christmas!

Hope you had a good night Eddas - shame about the pox but at least it's well before Christmas anyway.

No more puke - hurrah!

DH staggered in at 2am after his work do. When he got up for work this morning I asked him how much he'd had to drink. "Just one drink" He said. "" says I. He meant he'd only stuck to one type of drink - gin. Oh well, a ten hour shift in A&E with a hang-over - rather him than me .

The tree is up but waiting for Dh to get back from work to decorate. Ds is asleep and dd is having a tantrumette because I won't go to the shops and buy her a little sparkly tree all of her own . The longer she keeps it up the longer I get to MN!!!!

normabutty · 02/12/2007 16:29

ok, haven't caught up yet BUT meet up was fab!!!! KHIN is lovely and very understanding...I'm sorry about your hat

we had lots of drink, not much sleep, a bit hungover,...

we did get our pic taken with tech tho , oh and he asked how i got my mn name...so i told him i like to take it up the arse (it wasn't even 9pm!!! mind you we did get there at 6.30 to make the most of happy hour!)

cd - sorry to hear about your test

sorry for no more personals but am still hungover!

Sexmasonlegs · 02/12/2007 19:15

Evening all.

Nutty, really glad yu and KHIN had a good time last night. Hangover gone??

Liath, delighted the puking has ceased!

Eddas, hope ds is ok with the pox.

Hi to everyone else - wherever you are!!!

Had a good day. Went out for a pub lunch and then went bowling. B bloody well beat me and dh!

normabutty · 02/12/2007 19:19

Hello! like the xmas name sol.

hangover gone, just tired now. we didn't get in til after 4! Managed to eat MILs roast dinner and haven't been sick again since this morning. probably tmi

AngeGabriel · 02/12/2007 19:40

Evening all

It's so quiet on here today!!

Hello Oooggs!

Nutty/Khin - Glad you had a good time! Should I ask about Khin's hat??

Pmsl - at you telling tech you like to take it up the arse

SOl - glad you had a good day.

Eddas - about the pox but at least you got your night away first!

Liath - Glad you had no more vomit! Lol at DH only having one type of drink

Pretty hectic weekend here, went to mums for a roast yesterday and to see my Aunt and Uncle who were also there. Jake had a party in the afternoon, then I babysat for a friend in the evening.

DH brought Izzy round to where I was babysitting cos she wouldn't settle for him, a quick bf and she went straight to sleep!!

Today Jake has been at another party and this afternoon we put the Christmas tree and decs up. Izzy's face was a picture when I brought her down after a sleep, she just keeps staring round the room with her mouth open!!

Hope everyone ok

normabutty · 02/12/2007 19:42

no, best not to ask Ange

NorthernLurkerwithastarontop · 02/12/2007 19:44

Evening all.

Very quiet day here, been to church this morning - foul, foul weather! The barometer is still plunging!

Eddas - it was the pox then - oh well at least you get it over with - I'm convinced I'll just get back to work and then B will get it!

Interesting night with B last night - she has been waking around 12 - but last night she slept till 2 then didn't feed much, looked a bit perky but eventually settled with me (no chance in her cot) and we slept till 7am! I'm just wondering if this could be the start of a new pattern where she goes right through - she seemed quite annoyed at being awake at 2 Wishful thinking? Will keep you updated........

jingleoooggs · 02/12/2007 19:45

hi ange

anyone else dread going to bed? All dc's asleep now but I know whatever time I go to bed and just drop off one of them starts. Whether it be 8.30pm or 11.30pm I can't win

and this rain is really getting me down - is there any let up?

sorry to droan, I will post something positive next time
