I bought a load of Playmobil stuff for Christmas pressies (a jet, a helicopter, a playhouse, a zoo) and a few other bits and pieces. I was very impressed.

Daisy, can you keep the reusables and try again in a few months? They should still fit. Have you tried different liners? I meant to tell you that my homeopath recommended sos cream for any dry skin or nappy rash. I've been trying it on ds and it works a treat (actually I've been using it myself and it is lovely).

DaisyNightingale · 23/11/2007 20:20

trace, I hope these meds sort things out a bit for Chloe and that you get some answers from the eeg. I'm sure she will catch up developmentally. I'm sure I told you before that DH couldn't hold his head up till he was 9 months old.

I've got a thread going about my fluff dilemma. It seems worse around her thighs and across her tummy so she may be allergic to the elastic in the legs of the wraps....not sure how to get round that one though . We also need to get the washing machine serviced as it isn't rinsing terribly well. I won't put the nappies up for sale just yet. I'll try some of that cream annobal.

happy birthday andiem.

BFing question.....when I had thush before it was deep in the breast tissue and I had no sign of it actually on my nipples. The last couple of days I've had incredibly itchy nipples and some pain when DD is feeding. Does this sound like thrush?

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 23/11/2007 20:48

Trace, I really hope it gets better for you soon. I know it's no help really, but it's not unusual for babies of chloe's age to be immobile. Maybe you could get her a bumbo to sit her in for a few mins a few times a day. It might help to build up the muscles in her neck and back. Re secret santa, I'll get back to you with the person you are buying for on monday.

Daisy, I have some Happy Heinys which are really good for around the thigh area as the fleece lining comes out around the legs so only the fleece touches the skin (does that make sense?)! I also have a ME AIO that does the same and leaves no red marks. I hope you don't have to give up your fluff!

Happy Birthday andie and LMN, hope you both have had lovely days.

BadZelda · 23/11/2007 20:50

Hello all...just back from the pub, DCs asleep and DH has gone out again(!) so just little ole me and you for company.

Happy birthday Andie and Nortie...hope you had lovely days. Trace - sorry to hear you're still in the dark about Chloe - I guess the best is to just not compare and take each day with her as it comes...but easy for me to say; must be really hard for you

Daisy...sorry to hear about the nappies! I haven't had the dreaded nappy rash yet, but I tend to mix moultex and cloth (cloth at home, moultex for night and out and about). Having said that EVERY time she poos in a moultex it seems to go up the back, whereas I haven't had a leak yet with cloth. What's that about?

DaisyNightingale · 23/11/2007 20:50

I'm just enjoying some Sainsbury's Taste the Difference dark chocolate with chilli.....tis strange and fab, I'm quite impressed.

BadZelda · 23/11/2007 20:54

I don't really get the chocolate thing. My old landlady used to make chocolates to sell at christmas with special mexican chocolate she had shipped over...didn't really float my boat though.

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 23/11/2007 20:57

Daisy...that is just wrong!

BZ, I have only ever had one up the back poo with cloth and that was because I had run out and was using one that was too big. It was a daily occurence with disps!

OP posts:
deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 23/11/2007 20:59

Oh I get the chocolate thing, but I don't get the odd flavoured stuff. Mint...yes, orange...yes, chilli...NO! Though I have to say I've never tried it and would be willing to be converted!

Actually chilli chocolate is pretty good...but I wouldn't get up in the night to eat it (as my granny always says)

I think I might start using cloth a lot more when I'm out of the house...problem is I think I need MORE nappies. I have a dozen terries, which dry in minutes, and 5 Bamboozles (?) but they seem to take an AGE to dry, plus 1 Fluffle. I like the terries, but they don't seem to hold much moisture? Holly / Daisy - any ideas? I know the bumgenius seem to be quite popular, but I'm too tight to fork out a tenner a go on them.

Have to say, have just started putting DD1 in cloth at nighttime, and taking the nappy off at 10pm - she's been dry the rest of the night (hurrah!) so definite bonus that I hadn't even considered there.
But then DD2 is such a little chubbster that they are currently both wearing the same nappy size, which is funny.

lol BZ, I wouldn't get up in the night for it either...if it was galaxy on the other hand...

most of my current nappy stock is birth to potty so I'll hang onto them for a bit.

Have you tried using a microfibre booster with the terries? I must admit I've not used mine for ages as she is far too wriggly these days, so I don't know whether they would still hold her massive wees. There are various folds you can use which provide extra padding in the right place for a boy or girl.

mhc, what was your "so excited I'm going to burst" news? was it your return trip to Disneyland?

DH is out in the garden (in sub-zero temperature FFS) smoking . I would have thought that seeing my mum at the weekend would have given him the extra push he needs to stop, but obviously not.

Sputnik · 23/11/2007 21:23

BadZ maybe you could try a booster to add to the terries? I have some fleece lined hemp ones that are really absorbent.

Trace, just wanted to join everyone else in saying don't worry about coming on here to moan. You have been through a lot, and it puts some of our petty rants in perspective. Hope you can get some answers for Chloe soon (been saying that for months ). Is daily life becoming easier at least?

Sputnik · 23/11/2007 21:26

Great minds Daisy
Hope you don't have to give up your beloved fluff. Couldn't you use your engineerng skills to invent an elastic-free wrap?

Sputnik · 23/11/2007 21:45

you've all disappeared. Do I smell or something? LOL by the way at "bottom dropping out of the used nappy market"

BadZelda · 23/11/2007 21:50

Hey I'm here - and you've just reminded me of the joke DD1 told me the other day: why did the toilet paper roll down the hill? to get to the bottom

Sputnik · 23/11/2007 22:03

She s quite a comedienne
