If you're looking for ideas for something unusual for the DCs this Christmas, try here

annobalthebignosereindeer · 21/11/2007 20:49

Know the feeling`holly. Mine have been clingy and moany all day. Not sure whether I will send him to nursery tomorrow. It sounds harsh but I could really do with a day to just ds3 and me.

Am going to take advantage of footie and do some christmas shopping.

Sputnik · 21/11/2007 21:07

Nice link jammy

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 21/11/2007 21:08

Glad to be of service Sputnik. DH seems a little too keen on the wee and poo toys if you ask me though

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 21/11/2007 21:10

I think my dp could do with the penis golf club!

I will get this secret santa thing done, but it's gonna have to wait til after ugly betty!

DaisyNightingale · 21/11/2007 21:19

hey guys....I'm home , but also a little bit

had a farking horrible journey....torrential rain, whinging DD, constantly mewling cat....it took me 7.5 hours cos there was lots of roadworks and a big accident oon the other carriageway, but farking rubberneckers southbound meant a 5 mile tailback!!) the got home to a very excitable DS who wouldn't go to bed after his GPs left (due to excitement about aforementioned cat!)

I've only just got DD settled and am ready to collapse in a heap as I've been up since 4am

saying goodbye to my mum this morning was the hardest thing I've ever had to do; I just don't know whether I'll see her again

off to catch up!

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 21/11/2007 21:24

Oh Daisy........I really feel for you....I remember that feeling....I'm sure you're glad you went and had some quality time with her though...

Journey sounds like a farking nightmare

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 21/11/2007 21:25

Why have you got a cat in the car?

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 21/11/2007 21:33

Hey daisy, hope you are ok after your journey of hell. Welcome back!

Saying goodbye must have been hard .

Do you have a cat now? Where did you get that from? Any pics?

Oh fucking hell, ds has just woken up.

When I sold my flat 5 years ago, I moved in with my folks for a bitm, and my little cat (the daisy of my MN name) went with me. When I got a new flat, she was kind of settled at mum and dad's so they kept her. Well, obviously as mum is ill and won't be going back to her house, daisy and her other cat were on their own. My brother took the other one, and a friend of mum's said she would love to have daisy. However, it turns out that this friend (who also has lung cancer, albeit a different strain from mum and her prognosis is good) has had breathing problems since getting daisy two weeks ago. The cat rescue said that because of her age (circa 13) and her health problems (bad teeth) it would be unlikely she would be snapped up.....well I couldn't have her rotting in a cage for the rest of her life, so I've brought her back "home". DH is none to pleased, to put it mildly, but what was I supposed to do...she is technically still "our" cat (we got her when we first lived together 9 years ago)

she's now crashing round the house trying to open all the doors and figure out just how she can get into the gerbil cage.....bless!

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 21/11/2007 21:41

Ohhhhh ...my DH wouldn't be too please either....but what can you do?

FGS put a few pegs on top of the gerbil cage otherwise you may come down to a mess in the morning (I speak from experience)......cats are very ingenious when they want to be

foxythesnowman · 21/11/2007 21:46

{{{{{hugs for Daisy}}}}}

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 21/11/2007 21:50

Awwww daisy, how lovely! Hope she settles in well and your dh comes round to the idea.

Right, secret santa...

On the list I have-

Annobal,
Foxy,
Ria,
Faylisa,
Jamantha,
Trace,
Bumper,
Daisy,
DomesticGrumpess (I can't remember her other name!),
Seansgirl,
BadZelda,
LMN

Anyone else?

What I'll do is email everyone else who I have addresses for and give them a couple of days to get back to me. Then I shall get this show on the road!

Sorry for the delay everyone, I can't even find the time to get dressed most days!

Hi all
Welcome back Daisy - you've been very much missed! Hope you get a good sleep tonight- up since 4!!!

L had her 3rd jabs today, DH took her as he has no work at the moment, so I had an hour "off"!

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 21/11/2007 21:54

JBM are you in for secret santa...oh hang on, you're bah humbug aren't you?!

OP posts:
HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 21/11/2007 21:54

Holly - Sputnik said she would do the swapping if you wanted her to a little while ago

DaisyNightingale · 21/11/2007 21:55

thanks foxy . Well done to DD2 for her weight gain....and YOU of course! Did I read you are still getting a paed's referral?

I've put a photo of daisy on my profile.....taken 5+ years ago when she was pretending that I hadn't just brought that squawking thing in the house and the pillow was for her benefit (and yes I'm feeding DS in the picture, LOL)

I was just wondering about the secret santa!

foxythesnowman · 21/11/2007 21:55

JBM, how is L doing? E put a measly 2oz on this week. Pah!

foxythesnowman · 21/11/2007 21:57

X post there Daisy. Yes, 10th Dec . Am persevering. GP has been fantastic.

Sorry BZ, wasn't ignoring you earlier, just went out!

Anyway, I'm off to bed now. N'night xx

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 21/11/2007 22:02

Aw Daisy is lovely Daisy (funny that my original MN name was after my cat Charlie!)

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 21/11/2007 22:03
