Ahh yes jam but I was so in awe of you. I love swearing clergy. We have a mate who is one of the youngest vicars in the country who is known in the local shop as the swearing vicar

Jennster · 09/12/2007 22:57

That would be lovely JAM. Had forgotten about attempting a meet up.

theprecious · 10/12/2007 12:08

wow Jennster - is your ds standing on his own, it looks like he's standing in the bath. Very cute photos.

I have bought my christmas cards and first christmas present. Ug.

Night feeding - my ds has started waking up loads more, I think it's coz he's hungry so have started him on the baby rice this weekend. At the last feed in the evening he's having a bottle, and two boobies and STILL wakes at 12.30 crying for food. Little Beastie.

Jennster · 10/12/2007 20:31

I'm lying behind him theprecious but he was propped up against the side of the bath. He is pretty errr robust though.

Ok how about here Old Holly Farm. It's pretty new and very clean. There are hens, calves, ponies and pigs in a small courtyard (free) and the soft play costs £4. The food is really good and locally sourced. I was very impressed when I went the other week.

15 minutes up the A6 (north towards Garstang) from J32 of M6. Turn just after Quattro's Italian restaurant and it's the second entrance down the lane.

Dates - We're going to a birthday party there on Friday 11th, and we have an antenatal group (1st time) on Saturday 5th. My friend tells me it's frantic busy at the weekends so a weekday would be better....Tuesday 8th or Tuesday 15th or Monday, Tuesday 21st or 22nd?

hey all, after really reaching the end of my rope with the night waking (convinced not due to hunger but still jetlagged from our trip)...i used the baby whisperers 'pick up, put down' method last night and it worked!!!! he went back to sleep for another 3 hours (admittedly it took me an hour to settle him but it was worth it!) fingers crossed tonight is easier.

i finally gave in and put lo in his own room and he seemed fine. he looks so small lying there thougth. brought a tear to my eye but then so do most things these days!!!

question for ya: has anyone else noticed some hair loss? i had a ton of hair whilst pregnant and now it seems to be falling out in the handfuls! im getting a bit stressed out about it as my hair feels really thin.

night all, big hugs

Hi all, just a quick message before I go to bed, I haven't had chance to catch up with messages properly but I just wanted to say thankyou so much for all the well wishes and sorry I haven't been back here sooner.

Dad is doing really well, he finally woke up after 9 days asleep. He was very confused and kept asking what the date was. He had a massive panic when he thought he'd missed Christmas. He couldn't remember agreeing to any operation and seemed to think he'd been in a car accident. He kept asking if he'd got all his limbs.
Thankfully his memory is coming back, he's still getting confused but I think that's more to do with the fact he won't put his hearing aids in and only catches half conversations. He also had some very peculiar dreams/near death experiences which are confusing matters.
All his organs are working (almost) properly now and they moved him out of intensive care a few days ago.
Everyone is really pleased by how quickly he's recovering, he's determined to be home by Christmas, a week ago we didn't think there was any chance of that, but he's a determined (stubborn at times) man and if he keeps going the way he has been doing then he might well manage it. They have said he should be allowed out for the day on Christmas Day but he has to be able to walk upstairs before he's allowed out for good. So far he's managed to walk to the end of the ward.

This Christmas was going to be a special one anyway now that we have B, but the last few weeks have been so tough, and we're all so relieved Dad survived that I'm even more thankfully for what we have.

One thing I'm not thankful for is that I've got flipping mastitus and feel like Poo!
I'm off to the doctors tomorrow.

Jennster · 12/12/2007 09:14

JAM, just realised I have a dental appointment on 21st. Tried to change my message, but it locked me out all day yesterday and couldn't let you know. 22nd Any better?

Jennster · 12/12/2007 09:16

Bilbio that's wonderful news I'm so glad.

Myfairone · 12/12/2007 09:27

bilblio - great news. how wonderful for you if he can come home for christmas day.
i hope he continues to go from strength to strength.

MelissaM · 12/12/2007 13:13

bilblio - great news about your dad. I was really sorry to hear how poorly he was. Fingers crossed he's home for Christmas. Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers.

MelissaM · 12/12/2007 13:17

Got back from hols last Friday which went really well. The flight was fairly uneventful apart from lo doing the most smelly explosive nappy filling on the way up and back down ! not easy changing baby in loos on a plane especially when you can't find the changing table! I got lots of offers of help from people as i was travelling with her on my own, and when we were queuing up the steps on to the plane, people kept making me go in front of them so that lo didn't get cold

I haven't started my Christmas shopping or cards yet. We don't even have the tree up and that's normally done on Dec 1st!! Oh well - there's plenty of time and always debenhams vouchers if I run out of time!!!

theprecious · 14/12/2007 09:41

bilbo - great news!

We have started on solids! Ds was starving and is now chowing down on carrot and baby rice.

Woke up at 2 last night and he wouldn't go back to sleep for an hour and a half - little bugger - this morning dp found he had a pooey nappy....I guess the solids have messed his system up, and with my blocked up nose I couldn't smell it.

I am in a bad mood this morning as a result.

I'm wondering if it's worth introducing a formula 10pm feed.... or do you think I have missed the boat on this? Or just ramp up the solids? At the moment he has baby rice for breakfast, carrot for lunch and baby rice again at 6ish. Plus all the usual feeds.

Cunning photo Jennster!

Have bought all my Christmas present - this year people are mainly getting amazon vouchers. I never get any feedback about present from the inlaws so they can chose their own bloody presents.

Sorry to intrude ladies.
Jennster is having trouble with MN access and has asked me to keep an eye on the tread for her.
I'll try and pass messages to her for you

Macdog · 14/12/2007 12:32

No idea why my computer won't allow mn. Wonder if dh has done something to it no viruses or anything and it's just mn. I have a window right now when it's allowing me one....

My blender has just broken, and it looks unlikely to get replacement part for Christmas Got loads of entertaining to do. Looks like I'll be using my mortar and pestle a lot.

Evening all,
had a rough few weeks with Lo. Just when i thought he was over his jetlag he has gone and got a cold and is now a blocked up bubba who is having trouble eating! bless him he is feeding like a little fish by keep opening his mouth after every mouthful. I have bought karvol capsules to leave in his room but has anyone else got any tips on how to clear his nose?

hope all are well and looking forward to christmas...
big hugs

Jennster · 17/12/2007 11:11

Get your bathroom steamy and get lo to roll around in there for a while, saline nasal drops and karvol, olbas oil or menthol and eucalyptus in hot water well out of little hands way on a radiator in their bedroom
