PS. Enjoy DH 2+1- you deserve to!

Myfairone · 15/05/2008 22:19

Thank you all so much for your advice. It was one hard week last week.
I too was concerned about the office politics. I did go and talk to HR (thank you justabout) and they put my mind at rest. Apparently there were a number of people who were looking for part time work who weren't mums and they were refused. Seems that me coming back part time has caused a problem there.
The other problems have come from teh fact that I used to travel quite extensively before I went on maternity leave. I came back and wanted new terms so that travel wasn't part of my contract. It seems the people in the other offices have kicked up a stink because I won't travel anymore. I guess I should be flattered that they want me to go there but I'm just not doing it.

What has annoyed me more than anything is that one of the managers of the other office has been saying things about me to the new CEO. What is even more annoying is that he has two children and his wife is a working mum.

I feel deeply hurt that people who I respected have turned on me since my return due to the fact that I have put my family first! Feel like sticking my two fingers up to them but have to remind myself that I am only doing this to make a better life for DS.

Im sorry to hear that you have been upset by someone on Mumsnet Justabout. I really hope you are not letting it upset your day to life too much. Just remember, its a virtual relationship and therefore should remain a virtual pain in the a$$! Sod em! they dont know you and therefore cannot judge you. How dare they!

Big hugs to all and thanks so much for all the support.

Justabout- I saw you were quote of the week- but I do agree with the editors comment- why the kitchen? just 'cos yogurt was there?! Nice effort!

Didn't realise you had actually met the lady in question....haven't used the local boards as not much up our neck of the woods. That does make it a lot harder And sad too. hope in the fullness of time either her issues with you are resolved amicably or you can at least no longer be made upset by it all.

Right, back to work....

madmumNika · 16/05/2008 21:17

PS. The money raised for the CF Trust will go directly to research projects in Northern Ireland and also support work the Trust does over here....so in a way I know it might help our DD....

MFO- at the other manager, especially as he has children. I wish people could sometimes be better at putting themselves in others shoes. Well done for standing your ground though and also seeing HR. Hope things settle down now so you can just work without all of that hanging over you.

How many of your LOs are mobile now? Mairi is very frustrated that she isn't- she sits and leans forward and tries to move but either goes backwards a bit or swivels around and generally doesn't go where she wants to! She has started to try pulling up to stand though (a few bumps already) so I'm wondering if she'll suss cruising before crawling/bum shuffling....

Hello, I've only just realised this thread was no longer on my watched list so assumed it had gone quiet. Not read it all but hope everybody who not having a crap time has something that cheers them up soon.

Ds now crawliing properly and trying to stand despite the talipes. He can even get himself up to kneeling without pulling himself up on anything and trying to get himself to standing also without support.

Oh and I am NOT pregnant.

OMG ds stood today from sitting on my friend's lap. He wasn't even holding on to anything!

I can believe it justabout. I know you shouldn't compare but they are so different. DD even now is ultra cautious at ascending and descending steps, around cars and water. I suspect the only reason she didn't walk until 15/16 months was because she couldn't get herself to standing with no support. As soon as she did that she was away.

JennsterSlugSlayer · 20/05/2008 17:33

And in attempt to fish out the polystyrene he was chewing on, ds has bitten me so hard he has broken the skin on my finger. He has 6 teeth, (3 top and 3 bottom) He appears to be getting the other 2, AND either has ulcers or is getting back teeth too! Would explain why he is waking so much in the night. I am a walking zombie.

Yes been back 2 weeks now. Only 3 days a week, but it is military operation to get everybody out of the house in the morning and into bed at night. And we're not long behind them. Must go to bed now. Early start tomorrow.

Sorry to hear that. I will get round to it eventually.

OrangeKnickers · 21/05/2008 16:33

sorry to hear about the abuse justabout. It is a shame as you've always been very helpful to me and others (I rememebr my bloody sleep thread where everyone waded in to give me a kicking).

I hope whoever it is gets a life soon.

On the plus side you are lucky to have an active Local mumsnet board - mine is rubbish!

meep · 22/05/2008 09:32

justabout I am so sorry that you are having to disappear - that is rubbish - we will miss you and look forward to you coming back one day....

Minimeep is also on the move - she is now a fully fledged bum shuffler! And she has finally worked out how to flip onto her tummy and then looks so pleased with herself - better late than never!!!

No teeth yet though...........when do I start getting worried??!

madmumNika · 22/05/2008 11:33

Justabout- will miss you on this thread, it's madness that you aren't able to post without fear of recrimination

Meep- DD still has no teeth either. DS didn't cut his first tooth until 13 months, then 4 came within 10 days! But he was 2.5 months prem so if DD follows him I'm expecting a tooth to appear in the next couple of weeks!
There's nothing to worry about if teeth don't appear for ages apparently- our dentist said they'd only investigate if none have appeared by 1.5yrs or so- and in his opinion the later teeth appear then the later milk teeth drop out and so adult teeth have fewer years to be abused!! And at least we don't have to attempt to "brush" our LOs teeth yet.... Mind you, DD seems to be in a lot of pain with her teeth not getting much sleep at night!

xx

JennsterSlugSlayer · 22/05/2008 21:19

Meep - Dd didn't get any until she was 9+ months. Ds however has a tooth piercing his gum that is too far away to be a canine, I think must be first molar, at the same time he hasn't got all four incisors ?? Three top and three bottom.

pulapula · 24/05/2008 21:34

Hello all,

Been on hol to Wales for a week. It was nice but glad to be home.

DS is getting more mobile but is 11mo now so still a bit slow as no rolling yet. He can push himself back up to sitting when he falls on his face and just today started to do this in his cot rather than fall asleep!

Can everyones LOs do a pincer grip yet? DS is booked to go back to HV at 12mo because he couldn't do it at his 9month review. He still can't! He just grabs things in his whole hand. Not sure why its so important for him to be able to do it- anyone know?

We also spent a worrying few days at the doctors and the childrens hospital just before our hols as DS developed an all-over body rash. 5 GPs saw him (3 on our first visit, 2 the next day as they couldn't decide what it was). The consultant at the hospital thinks a viral infection caused it, and it disappeared within 4 days. But was very scary at the time, and he was teething too so a pretty miserable time for him.

Anyway, justabout- sorry to hear you are forced to take a break- I will email you about meeting up again, maybe with Jennster too?

twoplusone · 25/05/2008 21:45
