Here you go Eli!

I almost put 'your clothespegs' on the end there. Ds loves clothespegs. Came home from Rainbows the other day and dp had made a deal with ds. He could play with the clothespegs as long as he did it in his playpen and let dp make dinner.

Hello gang. Sorry to hear about the bugs going around. Hope everyone is on the mend now. We're just in a snot phase at moment.(although ds1 seems quite run down. has wet the bed two nights in a row(multiple times ) and is very tired.)

Fingers crossed we've just gotton through a booby biting phase(with ds2 not ds1) He even started to scream at the sight of my boobs a few weeks ago. Damn teething! He's still not sleeping through. Little mite is also going to nursery tommorrow with a red cheek and a purple bump on his head from his adventures today. Had a fight with the stairgate while i was dressing him. Just dived while he was holding on and had bar marks on cheek. Then DS1 kinda pushed him (during play) while he was crawling and he headbutted the ceramic tiles in our kitchen.
Poor little thing is really sweet at moment. He keeps falling over and generally hurting himself, getting upset, asking for a cuddle then wanted to wriggle away again staight away. JUST like a proper little kid(Where is my baby??)

babypowder · 20/11/2007 22:27

DD1 came home from Rainbows tonight looking awful I'm so tired of all the bugs. Even DD2 was sick this afternoon. Please can't it be summer?

Am trying very hard not to be paranoid about the HMRC disks ... I probably shouldn't watch Spooks

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 20/11/2007 22:32

dd2 is starting to get to bed a bit earlier now. Although dd1 is usually asleep while dd2 is wailing. DD1 asked to go to bed at 6.15, she has a virus which dd2 has been fighting for the last week.

Eli - I think your los had similar - Lots of snot, a croupy cough and no temperature.

Although my 2 have had it slightly easier as they have not been sick.

Get well soon baby eli.

spina · 20/11/2007 22:41

I'm quite pissed off about the disks. all our kids details floating around goodness knows where. I hope they DO just turn up in someone's IN tray.

spina · 20/11/2007 22:44

Sorry that wasn't a helpful comment from me was it?

I'm sure it'll be fine. The chances are that where ever they are they're NOT in the wrong hands.

babypowder · 21/11/2007 15:51

The girls started nursery today. So DH and I spent the day together - the first time we've been on our own since the morning of 20 December last year Time doesn't half fly! We had a lovely grown-up lunch out and everything

Off to collect them now. Hope they've had a good a day as I have.

Elibean · 21/11/2007 22:56

bp and Margo, sorry to hear the LOs are sick...yes, Margo, that croupy-cough and snot thing has been round dd1's pre-school like wildfire. The whole place sounds like a hospital for TB patients. I think the sickness bug is a separate one - dd2 managed to be the Source of Infection for that one, as dd1 hasn't had it (me either, just dh and dd2).

And she still isn't ok - threw up her lunch/milk, had horrible runs all afternoon, and has gone to bed with very little milk and no supper

I'm supposed to be fattening her up for a re-check on weight next week - ha.

Discs......discs?? I'm so out of the loop with life these days, what discs?!?

jabberwocky · 22/11/2007 01:39

so sorry about all of the sick little ones My dcs have been allergy-snotty but so far that's it

What is this about discs?

jabberwocky · 22/11/2007 01:51

woo-hoo! I just found someone who imports doidy cups! Ds2 has so far found any and all sippy cups slightly amusing to play with and utterly useless as a drinking utensil.

FrostyGlassSlipper · 22/11/2007 08:23

Morning Guys.

Th disks being talked about are here

DD is trying her hardest to stand unsupported. She can go about 3 seconds without a wobble and then gets down but she's very proudof herself. She is also holding her hands up to anyone passing to see if they'll pick her up and cuddle her. Very different to DD1 who cried at the mere mention of strangers or when I left the room.

Elibean · 22/11/2007 10:42

Aha, thank you FGS for link - I really need to put the radio on or something, to catch up with news, as papers and I have parted company since dd2's arrival.

dd2 is a bit better this morning, I think - and very, very cross She gets SO frustrated when she can't express herself clearly enough, or doesn't get what she wants - how can a baby who can't yet stand, let alone walk, be an emotional toddler?!? She does have a few words, but still - this shouldn't be allowed

I have her bug. Was supposed to go to the city this morning to meet friend/solicitor and do boring financial stuff, then have wonderful, rare, gossipy lunch. Childcare all set up, hair washed last night, and guess who is chained to the bathroom today?

Elibean · 22/11/2007 10:42

FGS, meant to say, aside from the disc info - your post made me : your dd does sound soo sweet. I love the way they beam with pride at this age.

Indith · 22/11/2007 12:54

Winter and bugs are bad

Fruit pastel ice lollies to all (they make you feel soooo much better when everything you eat or drink comes up again, sugar but not enough liquid to make your tummy revolt)

I have been in the strangest mood, feel sort of periody. Spent last night in tears, finally got to sleep around 2ish. Daft hormonal thing that I am. Still, I think it has shown that there are certain things that weigh on my mind more than I previously thought.

Ds is being all unsettled again. Going back to creche after time off with the conjunctivitis is not good. He was up yesterday evening all tired and confused and inconsolable.

OP posts:
babypowder · 22/11/2007 13:22

Indith, sorry to hear you struggling with hormones. Hope you feel more positive soon.

And Eli, you poor, dear thing. I know that God laughs at the plans of men, but honestly - if a woman has planned some valuable me-time He should keep His humour to Himself.

I'm back to work tomorrow. So today is the end of the lovely adventure I've been on this year. At least the kids seem to love the nursery! DD2 was fed trifle for pudding after lunch yesterday at the nursery. She's never had so much as a biscuit so obviously she thinks she's in heaven

Olihan · 22/11/2007 14:48

Hello, all.

I can't seem to find a balance between MN and RL at the mo. If I log on to MN then nothing gets done, because i don't seem to be able to just check this thread and then leave. Somehow I press 'active convos' and bang goes 3 hours..................

So sorry I've been AWOL, I've set this thread as my home page so I don't get distracted on the way in. Hopefully I can keep in touch but not waste vast amounts of time .

So sorry to hear about the lurgies Eli, you really do deserve a break from them all - roll on spring, eh!

Hullo Bebespain and Spina (think I said hi to DG last time I logged on, hi if I didn't!).

Indith, I have been a hormonal, angry mess over the last week. Since having the dcs my PMT has evolved from the tearful, blubbing kind, to roaringly angry and rageful. I think this week's episode heralds the arrival of my fist period since I had ds2. Not looking forward to that!

FGS, congrats on the walking. Ds2 can stand unsupported for ages but will NOT move his feet . If I move away from him he just falls head first towards me with his feet glued firmly to the floor!

Castles, I also have a little Klingon. The only person ds2 will go to apart from me is his Granny. Even DH holding him effects heart rending sobbing which stops the second I take him back. Little terror.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY JABBER! I can't believe the first birthdays are starting already. Doesn't a year go so fast these days, or is that just me? My life seems to operate on fast forward now I've got dcs.

To everyone who has non sleeping dcs - all I can say is you have my sympathy. Ds2 is back to between 2 and 5 wakings and ds1 and dd have been up and down a lot too. If I get more than 2 hours sleep in a stretch I'm doing well at the moment .

Right, now i've caught up I ought to go and see just how much play dough is stuck to the kitchen floor.......................

lucy5 · 22/11/2007 14:52

Can sympathise with the hormones, last time I took magnesium and vit b [12] I think, must go and hunt some down. I have been full of rage too this week and I have had to use all my strength not to something scathing in dd's homework book!

It's unbelievable that that their first birthdays are approaching, dd seemed to be a baby for ever and now my little man is going to be 1!!!!!!!!!!

Olihan · 22/11/2007 14:53

BP, forgot to say good luck at work tomorrow.

Also forgot to say, ds2 fell down the stairs last week. The stairgate was shut but he somehow managed to get through the gap underneath . I'm assuming he slithered through on his tummy as I didn't hear any thuds, the first I knew was hearing him cry and seeing him crawling across the hall . Bad mummy! No harm done though, all he had was a bit of carpet burn on his forehead where he must have slid across the hall carpet. Needless to say, I don't let him out of my sight upstairs now, which kind of defeats the object of having a stairgate!

lucy5 · 22/11/2007 14:59

Oh yeah, good luck back at work!

Sounds frightening Oli!

bebespain · 22/11/2007 16:52

Oh suffering with raging hormones here too.

My time of the month has been worse than ever since having DS, I am unbareable to be around for about 2 weeks every month,(anger, rage, tears, not to mention bad skin) don´t know how DH puts up with me Will look into taking the supplements you mentioned Lucy.

Not just you Olihan I too cannot believe another year has gone by - somebody must be messing with the calendar

I can´t believe that my little man was still in tummy this time last year and now its like he´s been with us forever!

bebespain · 22/11/2007 17:02

Oli - thank goodness DS was OK!

We too had a close shave yesterday - DS managed to turn himself right around in his pram despite being strapped in and the whole thing fell backwards I had left him napping in it and heard his cries, went running to his room to find him face down on the floor - I swear my heart stopped beating
Fortunately his fall had been cushioned by the changing bag which thank G. I had left attached.

Needless to say I won´t be doing that again and gave myself two slapped wrists

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 22/11/2007 23:36

DD2 has fallen off of the bed. I've nearly lost my grip a few times when they do that arching back thing - why do they do it?

jabberwocky · 23/11/2007 00:03

Thanks for the birthday wishes, oli Baby Jabber lurrrrved his birthday cake. It was priceless watching him dig into it, lol. Will post pics as soon as dh uploads them on the computer.

Major sympathies with the hormonal rages. Haven't had a period yet, but I did run out of Zoloft for a couple of weeeks and it was hell on everyone.

Ds2 waking 2x at night and on a bad night ds1 has a nightmare in between that

Baby eli is the next birthday, yes?

jabberwocky · 23/11/2007 00:04

Oh, and ds2 has fallen off the bed and down the short section of stairs

Olihan · 23/11/2007 06:43

Here's a list of birthdays of those of us who still post regularly. I've taken out all the dcs' names as I didn't know how people felt about me leaving them in and I've got the orogonal list with all the original posters so if I've missed you out just shout!

jabberwocky 22/11 DS
Lucy5 24/11 DS
Calmriver 24/11 DD
Elibean 24/11 DD
Magnolia1 30/11 DS
castlesintheair 30/11 DD

FunkyGlassSlipper 9/12 DD
Margosbeenplaying 12/12 DD
bebespain 18/12 DS

Olihan 28/12 DS
Gloria42 29/12 DS
Devongirl 30/12 DS

Weirdbird 3/1 DD
Indith 11/1 DS

I'm glad I'm not the only one who's had a few heartstopping moments. Makes me fell like a less negligent mother!

Margo, that back arching thing drives me nuts. Ds2 has cracked his head against doorframes and walls a few times doing it, daft baby. It's just so hard to keep a grip when they do it, isn't it?
