Here you go Eli!

I almost put 'your clothespegs' on the end there. Ds loves clothespegs. Came home from Rainbows the other day and dp had made a deal with ds. He could play with the clothespegs as long as he did it in his playpen and let dp make dinner.

Indith and Eli, hope you are feeling a bit better today.........

Gloria42 · 23/11/2007 09:02

at birthday list!! Seems last time I saw a list with my name on it was for due dates!!!
DS now walking 5-6 steps between me and DP, walks about all day holding our hands so looks like i won't have a crawling baby after all!
Happy Birthdays to all this weekend xxxxx

Indith · 23/11/2007 12:30

No no no no! You are not supposed to tell me all about how your hormones and PMT is worse since having children. I have been a raving lunatic and taken measures to stop that thank you very much I don't want it happening again.

Do need to have a talk with dp though about things, just don't know when. He is off on Sunday for a week. One of those work teambuilding things. I am so very as it is all outdoorsy stuff that I love. Things that I used to spend all my weekends doing. I m,iss it so much, it was midnight madness last weekend (overnight incident hike the uni scout and guide group runs) and I'm stupidly upset to have missed it. Perhaps now that ds drinks water well from a cup I should just be brave enought to say 'sod it' and leave him with some expressed milk for bedtime. I'm so sick of having to say to friends' yes I'd love to but can we make it an hour later so I can put ds to bed first?'

Grrrrrrrrrrr. Sorry just need to rant, will stop now though there are many more things I could rant about!

Babies really are a danget to themselves and others once they get going aren't they! Ds is currently sprting a bruise and I have no idea where it comes from . I too hate the back arching, especially when feeding in a chair with really hard wooden arms!

I have had a hormonal explosion this week I'm really struggling. Keep worrying about PND - can you get it this late? Then think maybe it is just PMT as it has been at least a week and a half since I stopped bleeding

Happy birthdays to baby Jabber, baby Lucy5, baby Calm and baby Bean

And well done to Gloria's walker!

castlesintheair · 23/11/2007 14:16

So sorry to hear about all the 'monal strife at the moment and I hope you all feel better soon. Yes, FGS, sadly, PND can strike at any time. Personally, I wouldn't suffer: I'd get down to the doctor quick. Just the voice of experience speaking

Happy Birthday baby Jabber yesterday! And all those who are tomorrow. Wow! DD2 is 1 next Friday. I shudder when I think back to this time last year and how wonderful it is now

Magnolia, if you are reading, I hope things are ok with you xxx

Also, out damn bugs, out I say! Hope LOs (Eli? Margo?) feeling better.

FrostyGlassSlipper · 23/11/2007 15:00

Thanks Castles. Tbh I got mild PND after DD1 (at about 4 months) and I can relate. Thing is it was actually quite a pain having to disclose it on insurance forms etc afterwards and I'd kind of like to not go and get it on my medical notes again.

spina · 23/11/2007 16:02

Happy birthday baby jabber!!!!

I spoke too soon when I said Baby Spin was bug free. He's just spent the last two and a half days(or is it 3 and a half) with a raging temperature (of 38.5 to 39.6!)despite pharmacist mummy keeping him topped up with paracetamol and ibuprofen and living in a vest. The poor little one was so ill yesterday that at one stage he just laid his head on the table during snack and the snot just ran down his cheek onto table. Gross but soo endearing IYKWIM! He's been very brave about his little runny nose and eyes and we've had some lovely cuddles.Thankfully he's a lot better today.(wearing a baby gro on top of vest and drug free!)

On the 'mone front, I'm really worried about the effects of stopping breastfeeding will have on

  1. my periods which are awful since they returned two months ago
and
  1. my emotional state(I'm still allegedly(sp?) in happy hormone stage cos of the boobs. If this is happy hormone....?
At least ,i guess the emotional state stuff is only temporary, if only I could say the same about the periods!!!
spina · 23/11/2007 16:05

Whoops. Happy birthday Baby 5, Baby Calm and Baby Eli for tommorrow.

FrostyGlassSlipper · 23/11/2007 16:18

spina, I've had 3 periods over the last 4 months. I've had about 25 days in total not bleeding. And stopping breastfeeding has had a big impact hormonally

Elibean · 23/11/2007 16:21

Aahh, baby Spina, but , as you say...so glad he's on the mend!

Hope any other poorly LOs and/or Mums are, too. dd2 is still off her food and has runs, but hasn't vomited for 36 hours now - and I feel much better today. dd1 amazingly immune, though snotty, and is eating like a horse

No time to hang out, more's the pity, but wanted to wish Jabber's ds a big happy birthday for yesterday - and Lucy and Calm's LOs for tomorrow! We're not doing much external celebrating (apart from cake and a godparent for tea) but inwardly am having lots of warm mushy feelings and a great deal of relief at having got her through the first year

Huge hugs, if you're in hugging mood, to hormonal ones....FGS, do you think the first birthday might be having anything to do with it?? Or straightforward hormones 'only'? I'm always amazed at how powerful the things are....Castles has great advice on PND...xxxx

jabberwocky · 23/11/2007 18:09

I completely forgot/missed that we have 3 babies turning one tomorrow! What a busy group we were last year

Ds2 still snotty too. Here's hoping all the little babies have clear noses soon!

I have to say, on the PND front, that mine grew increasingly worse from about 6 months through the middle of ds1's first year

On a brighter note, I do believe I'm done with Christmas shopping I'm sure I'll remember something/someone that I've forgotten but I did some online last night and that seems to be it!

Elibean · 23/11/2007 19:53

Come to think of it, my sister had mild PND when my nephew was about 12 months old. Though in her case, there were other issues that contributed to it.

Jabber you are an inspiration re Xmas...

FrostyGlassSlipper · 23/11/2007 20:35

Thanks Guys. I have a lot going on at the moment so dont think I can blame it on PND. Just overstressed, over-tired and teary I'll get over it, dont worry.

DD2 is trying so hard to walk it is sweet. She can now stand for about 2 seconds and then dives at you so you have to be ready to catch her. The thing is she giggles throughout which stops her progress. If she thought about it she'd do much better

accessorizewithbabysick · 23/11/2007 20:57

Ahhh, hormones, they are a curse!
FWIW, spina, ds2 gave up bf and I felt quite low for a couple of weeks BUT because I was prepared for it and took action wasn't any worse than that. And I've had depression a LOT! Supplements help me.
Indith, sounds like you really really need to have a bit of time off from ds, preferably at night! If he's managing at creche, he can manage at home with dp. Go out, feel better, and come home a happier mummy. Course I felt all the guilt with ds1, quite happily skipped off to Ikea for the day yesterday and left them both in nursery. It was fab, but I prefer really to have an hour here and an hour there, they're just so lovely
FGS, hope the sleep helps with it all, maybe a little bit of tlc too? (You not lo's!)
Happy birthday Elibean, Calm & Lucy beans! Can't believe we'll be celebrating in a couple of weeks...

Indith · 23/11/2007 21:00

I think we all need ice cream and some soppy dvds, the kind with Hugh Grant making a fool of himself or Alan Rickman looking edible.

Am so in awe of all these walking/nearly walking/standing babies (and babies who put their heads on the table all snotty...very cute image). Ds has not repeated hit pulling himself up feat, he prefers to bounce on his knees while cooing. Still not managed a mama or dada directed at anyone yet either! Ah well, yours are all exceedingly clever, mine is just Mr Average Sure he will beat his dad and his amazing feat of waiting until 2 to walk or talk

Happy Birthday babies!

Stay clear of bugs one and all. Failing that have a cup of tea/regular doses of medised depending on your age.

OP posts:
FrostyGlassSlipper · 23/11/2007 21:16

Indith - my Dd was 2.4 before she started talking properly. They are all different. DD1 is saying dada and nodding her head for yes but not much more.

Elibean · 23/11/2007 22:38

Ice cream and dvds works for me

Indith, dd is miles from walking - just got given a very pretty dress by her uncle and aunt, for her birthday, and its the kind you have to be walking to wear. Not a hope.

FGS, impressed your dd is nodding - according to dd2, its much harder to nod than to shake 'no, no, no' which she does perfectly

Does anyone else have a baby/toddler that points endlessly whilst squawking? Then cries furiously if not given the pointed-at object?! I know she's exploring her world, but yikes.....

I can't believe my baby is one tomorrow Or that a year ago I was massively pregnant. Or that I never will be again. Or that we've all known each other for well over a year

Calmriver · 24/11/2007 00:14

Hi Girls, got a lot of catching up to do...lost you all for a while! Anyway, Amberli turns 1 tomorrow!!!!!(24th) My little monkey still hasnt got any teeth! NOT ONE!!!!

Calmriver · 24/11/2007 00:17

Thanks Oli, for the list of dates!

Happy Birthday too, to Little Eli and Little Lucy5. I have goosebumps while Im typing this! Our babies are all 1 already! xxx

Elibean · 24/11/2007 15:16

Happy birthday Amberli and Lucy's ds

Mischa is back to endless diarrhoea and snotty nose, her big sister and I have a temperature, so life goes on as normal and no one feels very festive BUT...I too have goosebumps that my baby was born a year ago today

And I'm going to find and eat cake if its the last thing I do, and even if no one else is in a fit state to help me finish it

Hope the rest of the birthday bunch are fit and enjoying chasing balloons around!

babypowder · 24/11/2007 16:32

Happy birthday to all the beautiful 1 year olds! It doesn't seem possible.

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 24/11/2007 16:52

Happy birthday baby eli, baby calm and baby lucy5!

jabberwocky · 24/11/2007 17:29

Happy Birthday to little Mischa. Amberli and Baby Lucy5!

Maybe she'll perk up when she sees cake, eli

lucy5 · 24/11/2007 18:22

Happy birthday November 24th babies!

Elibean · 24/11/2007 22:57

my father has just been diagnosed with prostate cancer, and I was told this afternoon.....cake didn't happen. I suspect we'll all get our heads around it, he is a fit 80 and its likely not to kill him...but as dd2 wasn't eating and dd1 had a temperature, I just sort of surrendered to feeling shocked. What a weird day.

Hope thats not a downer to post, I jsut needed to put it down in black and white to people I trust (am not supposed to tell anyone else in family for a few days till he knows more of the score). To make it sink in, if nothing else.

And to help me make space to carry on celebrating the LOs...mine and everyone else's. Life's rich tapestry, after all...

Who's next on the birthday list? Will go look....
