Here you go Eli!

I almost put 'your clothespegs' on the end there. Ds loves clothespegs. Came home from Rainbows the other day and dp had made a deal with ds. He could play with the clothespegs as long as he did it in his playpen and let dp make dinner.

BP think its more the power of LOs keeping us away when thread goes quiet! Must try the Aveeno range, have two dds with dry skin and me.

FGS, hugs (but no chocolate if you're getting a migraine ) to you and congrats to LO....I get hormone-linked migraines, very horrid, do you have anything to take? If I take Maxalt (prescribed) asap it helps, then if possible I take a Nurofen Plus and try to keep my head/neck warm. Had one on Xmas day that never progressed to proper pain, but I know how hard it is to nip them in the bud - or impossible, depending on the one. Hope your poor head better soon.

Aah, happy birthday baby W, can't believe we all have over-1s now....and can't believe dd2 is nearly 14 mos

Elibean · 12/01/2008 11:59

Indith, those proud smiles are worth their weight in gold, eh. I use the alarm switch on my clock for same effect on dd2

jabberwocky · 13/01/2008 02:17

Hi all

I have now recovered from my bout with atypical "walking" pneumonia and we have been out of town closing on our new house!!!

I have tons of catching up to do as did not have internet connection from New Year's Day until now but did notice the comment about bfing and periods. None yet for me. With ds1 I didn't have a period until the absolute last drop of bm

Will try to do a more proper post tomorrow

babypowder · 13/01/2008 10:18

Jabber - you poor thing.

How fantastic is your new house, then?

jabberwocky · 13/01/2008 14:36

We are sooo excited! We haven't moved anything in yet, but dh got ds1 a little radio flyer scooter thingy (like a skateboard with a handle bar) and he went zipping all over on it. He calls it the scooter house now and can't wait to move in.

Only a couple of small details...we have to sell our other house and I have to find a job there

babypowder · 13/01/2008 15:04

Surely with your specialist skills it shouldn't take too long to find something? Love the 'scooter house' - sounds like DS1 is ready and happy to move

Are you all better now?

jabberwocky · 13/01/2008 16:23

I feel back to normal finally. It was only 2 weeks but felt like forever.

RE: job - I do have quite a few contacts in the area so I'm going to start making some calls and see what's available. As far as selling the house goes, I have some friends who are quite pessimistic about the housing market around here and with good reason. I'm hoping the fact that we have completely restored a historic home will make a difference. It's a very unique house, so fingers crossed...

Elibean · 13/01/2008 21:51

omg, Jabber, poor you! Not 'just' RSV then, by the sound of it...so glad you're better, and able to get good and excited about the 'scooter house'

Good luck job hunting!

babypowder · 13/01/2008 22:19

I feel like I'm trapped in one of the circles of hell. We gave DD2 Medised tonight as she has been suffering with a cold and was hot and miserable. Since then, she has been high as a kite! She's been throwing tantrums if we take things away, she's been trying to walk (this from the laziest child on god's green earth), she been shouting for food, and generally causing chaos. I'm going to have to peel her off the ceiling and try to get her to sleep ... wish me luck!

FunkyGlassSlipper · 13/01/2008 22:30

Jabber - glad you are feeling better. Scooter house sounds fab!

BP - we've had a few days like that. DD2 thinks she only needs 1 nap a day (had been having 2) and thinks she's invincible. She's managing 2-3 steps and then falling over but she is so opinionated it is unreal. To the point where when I take her to get her clothes in the morning she points to what she wants and has a paddy if I dont get the particular jeans/top etc.

accessorizemybaublessanta · 13/01/2008 22:35

FGS, hope you've peeled her off the ceiling by now. We've had a few days like this lately, little mr independence! Wearing
Jabber, so nice to have you back, but walking pneumonia sounds awful. House however sounds great! I'm sure you'll get a buyer shortly not to mention a job.
Really must go to bed now, just after I"ve packed the ds's nursery bags, ironed my work clothes and hung out the nappies. Serves me right for watching Sense and Sensibility instead of doing my chores!

accessorizemybaublessanta · 13/01/2008 22:35

Oh-oh, baby babypowder off the ceiling!

MargoWishesYouAHappyNooNooYear · 13/01/2008 23:11

at baby glass.

We've gotten into the habit of leaving our stair gate shut but not secure at the top. (it's a lindam one, if any of you are familiar with them) Dd1 can now reach our higher gate so opens it now. DH found dd2 halfway up the stairs on her own. He said he'd shut it but dd2 opened it.

I need eyes in the back of my head.

jabberwocky · 13/01/2008 23:57

lol at baby FGS! Even my ds1 still has virtually no opinion as to what he wears. Methinks you've got a fashion diva on your hands

Did I mention the new house has his and hers bathrooms off the master bedroom???? I was completely in love when I saw that.

There are more photos on FB - why did no-one tell me? Lovely and happy birthday to our youngest LO, William!

babypowder · 14/01/2008 12:49

Jabber, we want to see details of your new and old house. Can't you send us a link to your real estate agent, or post some pics?

Indith · 14/01/2008 12:56

Jabber the house sounds great, good luck on the selling and the job front.

How is it that dp quite frequently has a bath in the evenings yet I never seem to have the time to?

The party at the weekend was fantastic, think we worked out that it has been about 7 years since we had that number of uncles, aunts and cousins together at once and of course now there is a whole new generation! I rather liked the point where my cousing and I were sitting next to each other on the sofa bf our respective children...a year old and 8 weeks old!

Ds seems to have decided that a feed about every 3 days is what he wants I assume he will give up totally before too long but I'd be interested to see how long supply keeps up with that!

Am at the little fashion diva among us

And thanking some deity that medised doesn't make ds high as we seem to have managed to descended into teething from hell again so ds has mostly been screaming or sleeping and food requires a combination attack of nelsons, calpol and ibuprofen (spaced I hasten to add).

New FB photos are ace. My sister was official photographer at the party so I'll add some of the monster when i get them from her. Must say though it is amazing how baby faced he still is compared to other 1st birthday pictures! My cousin's little ds who is 3 months younger than him also looks way older.

You know those wooden highchairs with no harnesses you get in cafes etc? ds stood up in one and crawled out onto the table

Will go far that lad, a houdini in the making.

OP posts:
FunkyGlassSlipper · 15/01/2008 12:51

I'm here. Lol @ your DS houdini

Off to hospital in a bit for DD1's eye check up.

DH back late every night this week so quite busy at the moment..

babypowder · 15/01/2008 13:44

Hi Indith!

We have a cloth 'high chair'thing that we used for DD1 as well as DD2. When DD1 was 20 months, and on holiday in Spain, she learned how to escape. The Spanish waiters were enchanted with this small, blonde escapee and would take her on tours of the kitchens, into the restaurants next door, etc. (And Mum and Dad always seemed to get a free glass of wine. Splendid thing)

babypowder · 15/01/2008 15:42

Where's weirdbird?

castlesintheair · 15/01/2008 16:36

Is it just me or is anyone else finding their Dec 06er really hard work at the moment? I feel so weary. Maybe it's having 3 or just 3rd time round ...

DD2 climbs out of her highchair and jumps down so I strap her in and she still wriggles free. I turned round to find her hanging by her fingernails off the back of it yesterday. Sigh.

FunkyGlassSlipper · 15/01/2008 17:26

castles - I'm finding DD2 hard work at the moment. And, er, DD1 as well. Maybe its just me.

Jabber - if you are around, can I talk vision? DD1 had her 3 month check with the orthoptist today. Glasses are correcting the astigmatism and she is happy wearing them so all fine and dandy, but they think she has a squint in her other eye. They mentioned this 3 months ago which is why we are on regular checks. They said it is a minor squint and that she is controlling it well at the moment but that they would need to monitor closely. As it is not affecting her actual vision at all then they might not do anything about it anyway. If they did it would mean corrective surgery but it would be for cosmetic reasons and there would be no rush. Does that all sound right?

FunkyGlassSlipper · 15/01/2008 17:28

And also I called the Drs today for DD1s urine sample results and they said the Dr wants to talk to me on the phone tomorrow about it. So, maybe it is a uti after all? I cant see why they wouldnt just get me to book an appointment and go in. Sigh...

Sorry. Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me

Hope you're all ok.
