I hope no one minds the other thread seemed to be dying out a bit.

I can't belive Harry is one on Friday, he is into everything, such a cheeky chappy!

Mum is alot better they are sending her home to rest and loose some wieght then getting her back in for another crack at op.
The events of this horrible yr have all caught up with her and she is in bits, its painfull tyo wathc especially not knowing what to say or do.

Jack is fine, still hating nebulisers but its for his own good, he is to into everything and looking more grown up by the day.

I hope everyone is well, are we all looking forward to xmas?

Yeah we were never notified either i just knew it was due so asked my surgery about it... I think you are supposed to keep track of these things by looking in the red health book!

calsworld · 15/03/2008 18:39

Thanks guys - will definitly call surgery on Monday..

Another question if any of you are about, can DS (15 ish months) have smoked salmon?

KaybeeandZak · 18/03/2008 16:05

can't answer that calsworld, thou i think ds may have had a try of it at some point with no adverse effects

Had appt at the hospital with consultant today, don't know why i bother. Sometimes they are nice and helpful (and i can understand what the are actually saying) and other times not! And today was definately a not day... grrrrrrrrr

saralou · 20/03/2008 12:36

all gone quiet again!!

whats your consultant been saying then kaybee??

nursery think that ds2 is a daredevil... apparently the nuttiest child they have there! i'm so proud !

KaybeeandZak · 20/03/2008 19:13

hi saralou
I was just trying to get clarification from the consultant about whether there was anything I could do/should do to prevent getting another 3rd degree tear, and he said it should be fine unless I have a big baby. So i then said that my midwife was predicting this baby would be 9lbs and that Zak was 8lb12oz, and he said those were classed as big babies. So therefore, it would appear to me I am at greater risk of tearing again! But he just didn't say anything. Is it me???? Why do health professionals hate me [hmmm]
Am going to discuss with my midwife next time I see her anyway..........

saralou · 21/03/2008 14:48

so he said as long as it's not big your ok? then midwife says it's a big baby... so what he really said is you'r screwed!!!!

talk to your midwife, one of my friends was really worried about this as she had a bad tear and was slow to heal, midwife was very reassuring.... apparently the babies size doesn't matter so much (and the fact you've pushed one out wil make it a bit more stretchy already) but how you push and wether you need an assisted delivery, i.e forceps.

reduce the risks by not having an epidural and only pushing when you have a contraction.. their are probably loads more... start a thread on here even... or search the old ones...

consultants talk in riddles all the time... it means they don't have to give answers they might get sued for!!! i have to spend a lot of time at work interpreting what the hell they're on about (we have one even i don't know what he's talking about, lol)

podglet · 23/03/2008 20:49

Hi - Happy Easter All!

DS walking - hurrah! Also knows where most of his body parts are including his bottom (Daddy taught him that ) - everything is "da da" except Eeyore who is "uh oh"! His word recognition is fab though, he can help me with things, such as fetching me a nappy and finding his cup

Kaybee - grr at your consultant - I see mine again on Thursday and am going to ask for a section at 37 weeks (don't know if he will agree) because I have polyhydramnios again (excess amniotic fluid) and I am stretched to capacity already! Measured 38cms last week when I was actually 33... when are you due?

Sara - c'mon then, wanna see new piccies! When is your birthday?

NJ & Calsworld - fingers crossed for you and the ttc

Bethbe - hurrah for you on the Sept thread, so pleased to see you are on there hope bean is ok.

Ok, off to stretch my huge belly out on the sofa

saralou · 24/03/2008 18:53

helllloooooooooooooo!

hi podglet! my friend has that thing with the water, she's huuuuge! in fact she's due the same time as you i think, she's about 33 weeks too (eerie)

mil has buggered off on holiday for 2 weeks, so i have to wait for her return before i can get photo's back!

KaybeeandZak · 24/03/2008 19:54

Wow Podglet, that sounds really uncomfortable! As if you we don't feel huge enough as it is without having any probs.
I am due on the 16th April, so three weeks to go...

Thanks Saralou, I will speak to my midwife and see what she has to say. I have yet to write a birth plan or get any bags packed etc. . . I guess as Zak was so late I feel like there's no point just yet, but knowing my luck this one will turn up early!

KaybeeandZak · 28/03/2008 22:35

oops killed the thread again...........

Staceym21AtLast · 31/03/2008 21:22

hi everyone!

hope all are ok, sorry been away for a long while. im in a pretty shit place right now and dotn spend much time on the internet.

K is finally walking and can say a few words when he gets word in edgways with a big sister like C!

calsworld · 31/03/2008 21:56

DS has finally graduated to the toddler class at nursery and seems to be really enjoying it, the walking is coming on well and in this past week he's been babbling much more so I guess he's going to learn lots with the bigger kids.

Still TTC and fingers crossed as am on the 2ww!

Kaybee - hope everythings OK for you at the moment, it sounds blimin' uncomfortable!

calsworld · 31/03/2008 21:57

Goodness, been sat on that post for a couple of hours as got distracted - sorry Stacey....hope you're OK?

saralou · 01/04/2008 15:08

hope your ok stacey

well it was my birthday yesterday and dp was all the way in manchester he phoned in the morning sang happy birthday and i burst into tears! anyway... i had lots of lovely presents and got spoilt rotten all weekend!

ds2 is just so cute!!! this morning i was upsatairs getting dressed, he was at the bottom crying, so i popped my head over and said i'll be down in a minute... all goes quiet... i found him at the bottom fast asleep, bless him!!!

Staceym21AtLast · 01/04/2008 19:04

hi all, yeah ok just been so busy, trying to find a job as am going mad doing the mummy thing 24/7 with no relief!

xh has still only had the kids 1 weekend since october, and very rarely turns up when he tells dd (whos now 3.6) hes going to come, so i end up with a very upset little girl on my hands!!!

she even told me i didnt love her the other day because i wouldnt let her see her daddy! like im doing this on purpose!

anyway hopefully i should be around more again getting back to normal-ish!

KaybeeandZak · 01/04/2008 20:09

Stacey, thats so sad what your DD said, how can you explain to them at that age that it's not your fault .....
Glad to hear you are doing ok though

Happy Belated Birthdah Saralou What a shame your DP was away, but sounds like you had a lovely weekend.

saralou · 01/04/2008 22:27

oh thats so sad what your dd said.

he shouldn't make promises he can't keep, but you know that!

what work are you looking for? will your mum help with childcare? must admit i'm not one for the full time mum thing.. going to work is my time off (i talk to adults and everything) xx

calsworld · 01/04/2008 22:30

Stacey, sorry to hear too. I have seen nieces go through very difficult times with absent dad, I know its hard not to let them think that you're preventing it, without alienating them from their Dad either. Hope you manage to work something out that suits DD.

DS has chicken pox! Been in doubt all day but he stuck his tongue out and now am convinced poor DS, it looks yucky! Big white blobs which I can only assume are CP in mouth.

How are all your LO's? What are they up to? DS is still not talking, but his understanding is improving every day. He is very expressive too and I find it amazing how I can understand what he wants and someone will ask me how I knew and I can't answer it - is that part of being Mum? Whatever it is, its good fun.

He's just started 'trying to climb on to' the the sofa, reaching over the cushions and kind of lifting (cocking ) one leg and complaining, whilst smiling at the same time - all very comical!

Also, out of interest, how many teeth have your lot got? DS is 16 months and has 4 top and bottom, but I get the impression this isn't very many? Wish mine were as white .

Anyway, I'm waffling, best off to bed, DH and the dog have already gone and suspect tomorrow could be a long day for me and the little spotty one!!!

saralou · 01/04/2008 22:56

sending soothing calomine vibes your way cal >>>>>>

ds2 says dadeeeee and is very definite about narnar's (banana) and says bye-bye. he sits their making babbling noises at me and i have to guess what he wants, he nods and says ta when i eventually get it right.. then i have to go and fetch it or get told off!

his favourite activity is climbing onto his toy box and then splatting on to the sofa.. hours of fun!

ds2 is currently growing 2 new teeth.. he has 8 at the top now and 6 at the bottom!

nite xx

Staceym21AtLast · 02/04/2008 22:30

well thats one thing my boy can do, grow teeth, he has all except the back molars that they get at about 2, so i think hes got 16 (or is it 20?!?!) i always forget!

he can say 'uck uck, wack wack wack' which means duck duck quack quack quack! lol and dada, mummum, lolee (chloe) 'at (cat) buh-bye, heya and shakes his head to say no!

hes walking like a trouper, and is even begining to be able to get himself up without the aid of furniture now so thats a big step!

hes been climbing on my dining chairs to the table to the window ledge since he turned 1, not much fun believe me! and hes now trying to scale the 5" dvd cabinet, great!

He loves his food and will eat almost anything (except bread, he cant stand bread)!

and hes sleeping through most nights now! finally

thanks for the nice thoughts, i just hate him so much, it all goes great and i think things might go back to the way they are and then he acts like an @rse and i hate him all over again!!

KaybeeandZak · 03/04/2008 19:25

DS seems a bit slow on the teething, but I think he now has 9, including two molars.
He never shuts up though and can say heaps of words (or his interpretation of them!) He says bird, blue, toast, toes, shoes, ear, head, eyore, this, meow, woof, moo, baa etc, wee wee and poos as well as the usual mama dada and something like grandpa but not quite sure what it is!

He is spending 2 nights at his grandparents to give me a rest, which is lovely of them. I am feeling so exausted at the moment, and keep getting such a sore back I can't move. Poor DS has a very tired and grumpy mummy most of the time and I feel so bad. I seem to lie awake at night worrying about the birth of baby two as well, which doesn't help matters........

Staceym21AtLast · 03/04/2008 20:20

Kaybee, i second being a bit of a grumpy mummy while pregnant with number 2, i felt dd would never forgive me for the way i acted. she however doesnt even remember it! dont worry too much about it!

saralou · 03/04/2008 21:13

kaybee, i 3rd it! i remember crying 'cause i'd taken ds1 to the park, but i couldn't even walk there.. i felt so sad for him! but he doesn't remember! enjoy your days off though!

i'm off to london tomorrow to see my friend and go out for a posh dinner... we're gonna eat lobster and oysters not eaten oysters before! oh and drink champagne - which i am familiar with

i've never actually left either of them before. nights out, but not the whole night!

Staceym21AtLast · 03/04/2008 21:19

oh have fun! dont worry about them they'll be fine.

iv acctually had a social life since dh left coz i think 'f*ck it why shouldnt i have a life too' and leave him with the kids and go get drunk! lol

calsworld · 04/04/2008 20:31

Turns out it wasn't Chicken Pox, it was hand, foot and mouth (not related to the animal disease btw!). He's recovering well, apart from a sore mouth he's doing good.

Think I'm going to call the HV though as bit concerned about his language, or lack of it, as well as lack of teeth.

On the plus side, he's walking really well and trying to run - nursery say he's settling into toddlers really well and is generally a lovely happy little boy - which of course I already know!

Stacey - think I need to take a leaf out of your book, I've only had a couple of nights off since he was born and am beginning to regret it somewhat. DH doesn't seem to feel the same though, so am thinking I'll leave him babysitting whilst I go out with the girls!!
