I hope no one minds the other thread seemed to be dying out a bit.

I can't belive Harry is one on Friday, he is into everything, such a cheeky chappy!

Mum is alot better they are sending her home to rest and loose some wieght then getting her back in for another crack at op.
The events of this horrible yr have all caught up with her and she is in bits, its painfull tyo wathc especially not knowing what to say or do.

Jack is fine, still hating nebulisers but its for his own good, he is to into everything and looking more grown up by the day.

I hope everyone is well, are we all looking forward to xmas?

starlight i think its great when they dance to music, mine does it to theme music for programmes and claps when audience or someon claps on tv.

KaybeeandZak · 11/03/2008 20:42

ooh look, some action on the thread at last!!!

Well Zak is no longer walking but running these days, though keeps tripping up as not quite coordinatted enough yet to have mastered it. He has quite a few words, some strange ones like 'shoes' and 'trousers', as well as the usual 'ball' & 'more'. He has just learnt 'poo' too which is handy!

Zak loves In the Night Garden too, Bethbe. And Thomas the Tank Engine and Pocoyo too. That's all I let him watch really, and Thomas and Pocoyo are only about 5 mins long.....

Hope some more old faces turn up soon... NJ where are you???????????

calsworld · 11/03/2008 21:07

Pocoyo?

Whilst James has mastered walking his talking is not there yet. He says 'iya' when pretending to talk on my mobile, and everything else is 'da'. He can also tut and say mumumum but its not directed at me. I know he understands stuff - he can point to his nose, eyes, ears, head and hair and we're working on his tummy! He can also point to mine if I ask him too.

He developed his own signs for milk and water when he was quite young which are quite helpful too!

His latest trick is that he's just learnt all the actions to 'Miss Polly had a Dolly' at nursery which is really really sweet - what's less cute is the fact that he demands we sing it to him virtually non-stop!

NatalieJane · 12/03/2008 09:15

Helllllloooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Been a while since I checked in, everything seemed to go quiet all of a sudden! It's nice to have us all back together again

I have been rather pre-occupied with Cal and a few others on a TTC thread!! First month of trying this month....

George has just this weekend started taking a few small steps, but we are still at the stage where he takes 3/4 steps then gets all over excited tries to run, and falls over! Bless him. He never shut's up likes his own voice, got quite a few words out of him, can tell he is understanding a hell of a lot more though.

DS1 is going to be 6 on Tuesday.... deffo time for another baby!

Maybe we should start a new thread? See if we can pull some more people back?

calsworld · 12/03/2008 09:24

Peekabo NJ - I'm stalking you over to here...I've just suggested we need a new thread on the TTC board and think you might be right about this one...just didn't want to lose anyone in the revival!

Something I would like to know is what are your DC's favourite toys and favourite meals? DS is currently not that interested in toys - just singing songs, or rather, me singing them to him! And he's off his food so wondered what I could tempt him with?

NatalieJane · 12/03/2008 09:34

Favourite toys: he has a Smartville train set thing, he likes that, but also got him the other accessories for it (garage ice cream palour etc.) and he isn't bothered by them, just the train. Also loves balls, and phones. Oh and his xylophone. Mostly anything that his brother can do with him! Don't worry about him not being interested in toys though, DS1 never was, I think lot's of kids prefer to interact, why wouldn't they?!

Food: he eat's like a gannet, the only thing he has ever turned his nose up at is tomatoes, but he even eats those now. I always found with DS1, if he hadn't eaten very well for a few days (happens very often with him!) that a tin of rice pudding get's him going again. I know it has too much sugar in, but it is a filling, full of energy, but still a bit bland, sort of 'pick me up' food. Wouldn't suggest it everyday though!

Maybe we should wait to see if we get a few more people back on board then, to make a new thread for here?

mygirllollipop · 12/03/2008 09:46

Hello all!
DD4's favourite toys are do-dog soft toys. However, every four-legged animal is a 'do-dog'. She too likes Thomas because of her DD3's obsession with him!
She's walking/climbing/everything else fine. Talking a lot more than DD3 at this age. She'll eat pretty much anything. she had a jab on Friday.
Well DD3 will be 3 next month and I'm hoping to make a Thomas cake (bit adventurous!). And a mam at a group I go to announced she is pg with her second, and although we're not having anymore I am soooooooooo jealous/broody!

DS favourite toys are his firetruck (ride on thingy) and shape sorter type things, though what he is really into at the moment is being read to and sung to, same stuff over and over again! Oh and playing with keys and doors!

His eating is a bit erratic, I think it must be to do with teething and all the colds he has had. Sometimes if he's not feeling 100% he only wants easy food like yoghurt or rice pudding, he just seems like he can't be bothered to chew! Today he had a bowl of left over spag bol and that went down just fine thank god. I hate the whole fussy eating thing, drives me crazy.

calsworld · 12/03/2008 12:28

Kaybee that's exactly like DS! He's totally into being read to and sung to over and over. He does seem to like playing with keys and doors too so obviously popular at this stage!

James' eating also v erratic, hence my question - its absolutely about not wanting to chew at the moment so I've been pureeing his foods up again just to get him to eat, which is kind of working . Just been worrying that I'm going to end up with a five year old that will only eat puree's!!

I think we'll be fine really, he woke up last night asking for milk twice so I don't think he's getting as much at nursery as they tell me he is...and for two nights in a row he's had an 'Aunt Polly' style red patch on one cheek which is a bit of a teething giveaway isn't it!

saralou · 12/03/2008 18:25

toys - whatever ds1 is playing with at the time... then they have a fight! he does have a special love for cuddly toys though and gives them a squeeze!

food... loves his food, not at all fussy!

unlike his big brother... i never knew the answer but i never pandered to him he got what he was given, if he chose not to eat it he couldn't have been hungry! now he is constantly hungry, i can' t keep up he eats all day... he is 3ft 5inches and he's 3... eek, they're gonna be giants!

saralou · 12/03/2008 18:26

oh and i've got the hump today... dp has to go on a training course and he's gonna be away on my birthday! major sulk

calsworld · 12/03/2008 19:30

Ooooh Saralou - that warrants an extra special birthday present surely!

A looong time ago now, DH was sent to Canada for a two week training course with work over valentines day.

I got a lovely gold and silver maple leaf brooch which I wear on my smart black work coat a pair of Levi's and a Hardrock Café t-shirt!

There's always a bright side to these things!

DS has virtually no interest whatsoever in cuddly toys, he's starting to get into cars a bit. His aunty bought him a gorgeous rocking horse for his birthday and he loves it now! He's really good at rocking!

saralou · 12/03/2008 19:47

i could handle an extra special pressie but dp is generally crap and has different taste to me i.e bad!

rocking is cool... we have a huuuuuge rocking lion... i like rocking on it too!

KaybeeandZak · 12/03/2008 22:59

Oh Saralou that sucks. Perhaps you could put in a request about exactly what present you require to make up for it so his lack of taste doesnt come into it!

DS loves soft toys at the moment, he gives them all cuddles it's so cute He also has a baby doll which he likes to cuddle and show me it's eyes, ears and nose!

saralou · 12/03/2008 23:48

ds2 has just about grasped where his belly is... he lifts his top and gives it a pat... so cute!

i say dp is crap, but he was lovely on mothers day! i was at work doing my shitty long day and he had flowers sent in (pink roses, my favourite) then had chinese delivered at the time i get my break

so i shall have to take it back about him being crap!

i've been drinking wine and pink tequilla... i've just seen the bloody timme... eek!

mygirllollipop · 13/03/2008 09:12

Oh and DD4 is into dancing. I don't even realise there's music on (advert, TV theme tune, in shops...) and she waves her arms inthe air and sways and JUMPS. I have never known a 15/16 mo JUMP!
We had a bit of a time lately everything breaking, the washer, the internet.... Anyway it's all fine now.

calsworld · 13/03/2008 21:12

MGL - glad its all working again - I can't imagine how I'd cope if the internet broke nevermind the washing machine!!!

DS is quite good at pointing to his; nose, eyes, ears, mouth, tummy and toes...although he does sometime confuse his nose and toes!

I've been asking him to help me to do stuff more recently to help check his understanding and its better than I realised.

Managed to get organised enough to have tea with him tonight - cottage pie and veggies, he scoffed his down dead quick then came and helped himself to the food off my plate, you'd think after picking up and biting three green beans, and rejecting them by putting them down on the side of my plate, he'd realise he doesn't like them...however, persistance was the name of the game tonight and he picked up and bit every bloody bean, and removed it from my plate!

Good that he's interested in greens I guess!

KaybeeandZak · 14/03/2008 11:44

yeah I'd be lost without my internet too

DS had his MMR yesterday afternoon, such a brave little soldier, didn't even cry. I think I felt worse then he did!

calsworld · 14/03/2008 21:07

MMR - when is that due? Should DS have had his? Should I have had a letter?

saralou · 14/03/2008 21:13

i think mmr is due around the 13 month mark

i'm not giving ds2 his until he's 18 months.. he was so poorly after the last lot (probably unrelated) that i want his immune system to build up a bit 1st... and i think ds1 was about 18 months by the time slow mummy here got her arse round to it!!!

calsworld · 14/03/2008 21:17

I've just found an article on nhs site that says the same....we've not been notified, should we have been?

I'll have to ring the surgery next week and find out why...he was a bit late for his 12 month jabs as he was poorly...

Blimey - good job it was mentioned as I hadn't even thought about it!

mygirllollipop · 15/03/2008 09:24

They hadn't realised DD4 hadn't had her MMR until she went for other jabs last Fri and they rang up this place to double check she hadn't already had this lot and found out she hadn't had MMr. She will be 17 months-ish before she gets it.
