Just sitting down with some cheese and crackers. All dc in bed for half an hour and DH out tonight. I'm now in comatose state on couch trying to find something to watch tonight...

flashbangfoxy · 04/11/2007 19:11

JBM - can you have a bath and go to bed early. with a book or paper? leave dp to his mates and excuse yourself. Sounds like you've hit the 4 month wobble. Can you spend tomorrow chilling too? what do you need to do really.

today made a big difference. still did a roast, bathed and put them all to bed, and lo was left to wait for the first time today. really made me realise how much i keep her hanging on

The time we spent in bed was lovely, but unsustainable to keep up feeding to that extent (by which i mean normal)

annobalthebignosereindeer · 04/11/2007 19:23

Your day sounds lovely Foxy. Good luck with your plan - I really hope it works for you.

Am currently watching Charlie's Angels. What have I sunk to, it is not even the original

FairyOnTopOfTheChristmasTree · 04/11/2007 19:28

Bugger. Andiem, I just came on to say sorry but I can't now do weds either. DD's godmother just called and reminded me that we'd agreed that she's coming over to see the DC's for the day on Weds as she has a week off between jobs. I could still do Friday, or we could rearrange for another day, when Annobal (and maybe Foxy?) could make it as well?

FairyOnTopOfTheChristmasTree · 04/11/2007 19:32

JBM sorry you are having a crappy day. No advice I can give as am FF but am sending big hugs and I second the idea of having a really easy day tomorrow

DynamiteDaisy · 04/11/2007 19:56

good evening...just a flying visit as I'm off for another early night. I've had a few nights of no/very little wine and some early nights/lie ins and feel fab. I'm on a roll woith it now and don't want this to stop!

jbm, sorry you are having such a hard time at the moment . Hugs to you lovely lady. I hope your DP is more sympathetic; as someone else said, there is a world o difference between having depression and feeling depressed. I wish I had the answers for L's nursing strike, but if you search the archive on here there is bound to be a wealth of information. {{{{{hugs}}}}}

Did some BLW today and gave DD some veg today. she had some bits of carrot, potaot, cauli and parsnip that I just crushed with the back of my fork to break them up a bit. Not a puree in sight. Her co-ordination wasn't great so she didn't get a lot in her mouth, but she looked so happy when she did. I fed her a bit as well, and the roast parsnip wnet down a treat! some of the bits of carrot were a bit big, and she swallowed them whole, so no doubt I'll be seeing thm again soon!!!

DynamiteDaisy · 04/11/2007 20:32

all on my ownsome again

i got sucked in....what can I say?

annobalthebignosereindeer · 04/11/2007 20:38

Hey Daisy . DDs doing really well on the weaning. DS3 is showing no inclination at all. Glad the early wineless nights are agreeing with you. Can't believe I am wasting an evening of solitude watching charlie's angels

Ah well, Charley and ewan will be on in a minute...

DynamiteDaisy · 04/11/2007 20:41

hi annobal.

I stopped with the purees as she lost interest, but the last couple of days she has been straining to get at anything she can get her hands on. She seems to have the knack of getting it to the back of her throuat sorted, and the bits of carrot she gagged once then swallowed them right down.

I think I'll carry on with little tastes for the time being.

Are your folks still with you, or have they gone home?

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 04/11/2007 20:44

Hi Daisy, Annobal.

DD had more carrot today. Wasn't quite as easy as yesterday, but she had an ice cube's worth.

Glad your DD is getting on well with is Daisy.

Sorry about your crap day JBM, it's so hard when they won't feed and you can't work out what's up, in a way you can't help taking it personally when you're bf, IYSWIM. Hope things go back to normal tomorrow, and look after yourself

annobalthebignosereindeer · 04/11/2007 20:47

Nah - folks went home 10 days ago. It has been a bit lonely around here, not to mention missing the extra pairs of hands. We were thinking of oz for christmas but fares are hideous.

clever dd! id like to leave ds for as long as possible and try blw. not sure if i can be asked with purees

have you ever heard of a bf baby constipated?

annobalthebignosereindeer · 04/11/2007 20:48

hi jammy, hi sputnik. clever dd jammy!

Sputnik · 04/11/2007 20:51

Baby Sputnik seems to be getting interested in "real" food too. More often than not he's on my lap at dinnertime and keeps making grabs at my plate. Not given him anything yet though, apart from a suck on a few raw vegetables, he loved fennel.

annobalthebignosereindeer · 04/11/2007 20:52

ooh, i'm not surprised, i love fennel

Sputnik · 04/11/2007 20:58

If you mean not pooing Annobal, DD used not to poo for days and days on end around this age, but when it came it wasn't hard or anything. tHINK I read somewhere it means they're just absorbing all the milk

Foxy have you seen this ?

DynamiteDaisy · 04/11/2007 20:58

BF babies aren't meant to have any problems with constipation as far as I know annobal. My friend's DS did though (on-going since birth) and it turned out his sphincter muscle was too tight and he needed an op.

Sputnik...I'm going to do BLW from now on I think, but maybe not in it's purest form. I've got a weaning talk from the HV team tomorrow, so it'll be interesting to hear what they have to say about it.

I'm looking forward to DD sharing Christmas dinner with us (although I'll have to cook her veg separately as my typically Scottish family are a wee bit too fond of the salt cellar for my liking...ie cook with salt and pour it on top as well; I do neither)

annobalthebignosereindeer · 04/11/2007 21:00

No - quite hard/solid and consistency and colour of hot english mustard. he's been twice today and once yesterday - all like this. any ideas?

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 04/11/2007 21:06

I wouldn't call the consistency of mustard hard? That colour sounds about the same as our DD produces though.

that's a great thread on the weight gain. I hope foxy can get some re-assurance from it!

annobalthebignosereindeer · 04/11/2007 21:08

hard compared to what they were. they have changed quite a lot from what they were a few days ago .

DynamiteDaisy · 04/11/2007 21:08

annobal, have you been giving him any solids?

DD's poo changed quite rapidly even giving her tiny amounts of baby rice.

I think there is an NHS leaflet about different ranges of poo that are considered normal....derlor?????

Sputnik · 04/11/2007 21:10

No idea Annobal, maybe a reaction to something you ate?

annobalthebignosereindeer · 04/11/2007 21:11

no, no solids. i possibly haven't been eating as much fruit as i normally do?? still exclusively bf (won't take a bottle or even a dummy)
sorry to keep going on about this

thread on weight gain looks really good.

Sputnik · 04/11/2007 21:12

Right, I'm off for an early night, the baby was pretty unsettled last night and DD up at 6.30.
