She's doing ok, it's cleared up pretty well really.

LO isn't really saying any actually words either, she once said Dog in her sleep, she was drifting off and I coughed and she said Dog 😂 clearing my cough sounded like a barking dog! she also pointed at my hair the other day and said "hair" I then asked her where her hair was and she pointed to it. She definitely understands a lot.

mrssunshinexxx · 16/08/2021 14:46

@Gigitree I'm doing ok thanks think I'm slowly improving yes nelly has it too she's had temperature and coughing all through the night I've had to hold her upright so she can sleep. When yOu get covid when pregnant you get a growth scan a fortnight after so will be good to check baby all ok next Tuesday

Smiffette · 21/08/2021 18:26

Hey, I was just wondering if anyone of you were still breastfeeding?

DD is now 14 months and 1 week and I really want to stop, Ive aid to myself end of the month. I did also say that last month but she had other ideas!

Any success with going cold turkey?
She had reduced lots over the last 3
Months what with work but still wakes over night and is insistent upon it at bedtime even after a bottle

mrssunshinexxx · 22/08/2021 07:26

@Smiffette I'm stil feeding only once a day though sometimes twice but I decide if I want to do the extra one. I'm feeling touched out and my nipples are sore with pregnancy but I worry she will feel pushed out enough when baby comes so don't want to take our bedtime feed away no idea how ill actually manage it when baby is here but I'll find a way.
Can your partner put her to bed as she woke link him to boobs after the bottle ?

Smiffette · 22/08/2021 10:17

@mrssunshinexxx yeah her dad will get her off to sleep with a bottle! I think I'm going to get him to do a couple regular bedtimes that way I at least get a break a couple nights and it might help her get used to it

Smiffette · 22/08/2021 10:18

@mrssunshinexxx I can't imagine BF whilst pregnant, that must be uncomfortable but also so lovely

mrssunshinexxx · 22/08/2021 14:16

@Smiffette yeah it's hard work but she only has 1 or 2 and sleeps through so could be much harder. It's sweet when she's feeding and baby is kicking. That sounds like a really good idea bet if he did it for a week it would break the habit

Picklesbaby · 08/09/2021 16:11

Hey @Smiffette I just wanted to see how your getting on with stopping breastfeeding. We are on week 2 of no feeds between 10.30pm-6am 😱 still 6/7 night wakings atm though 🤣

Smiffette · 08/09/2021 20:16

@Picklesbaby wow that's tough with Wakes! I totally sympathise with you!

I'm still feeding, but I've managed stop doing the morning wake up and cuddle in bed feed, she has a bottle instead.
And she has gone down to 2-3 wakes a night usually between bedtime (7-8) and 01:00 they involve feeding back to sleep but then she does then do a good 5-6 hours so no feeds then!

So still 3-4 feeds in 24 hrs but that is an improvement! Slowly but surely we will get there.

Zoey92 · 09/09/2021 22:03

Oh my its been a long time!

Hi all, crazy few month it's been, we finally moved into our new house, Amelia settled into her own room really really well.
We're down to just 1 nap a day now, plainly because she refuses her afternoon nap 🤦‍♀️
Bedtime between 7:15/7:45, sleeps till 7am.
Just bought her first little clark shoes yesterday, shes finally built up her confidence with walking on her own, shes been walking around the furniture for weeks bless her.

In regard to trapped wind, We've had 2 episodes on a bedtime where she's suddenly became so uncomfortable with trapped wind.
Does anyone have advice for this?
At the minute shes also on 1 sachet of Laxido due to needing soften her stool.
I felt awful but when spoke to paediatrician she said even with a good variety diet like what amelia has these things happen.

How's everyone doing, how are all your little ones. Ive no idea where the last 15month have gone it's flown by!

Busylizzie85 · 10/09/2021 05:47

We are all good, Ivy is walking non stop, gets really frustrated in the buggy now but never walks where your going always the opposite way 😂
Still getting lots of illnesses from nursery the last one was horrid.
Sleeping is still a little hit and miss but mainly sleeps through from 7ish to 6-7, getting a few nightmares at the moment which is not nice to deal with.

Gigitree · 13/09/2021 06:54

Haha I’m with you there @Busylizzie85
Grace is the same, she actually gets a kick out of it and finds it hilarious running away from me 😂😩

How’s everyone filling their days at the moment? I feel like although we go to swimming lessons, music classes, the park etc. All lots of activities out of the house, I feel like there is still so many hours of the day where we are just at home and we’re both getting bored of her toys and books and I end up just putting CBeebies on, but I don’t want to do this but I don’t really know what else to do with her. She is a busy baby so she doesn’t stop moving at all, I try to play all sort of games with her like building blocks, stacking cups, puzzles etc. But she just grabs the parts and runs off with them.
I feel like such a shit mum as I don’t know what to do to entertain her and she whinges so much when she’s bored.

mrssunshinexxx · 13/09/2021 20:21

@Gigitree might sound obvious and you already do it but when my lo gets bored of toys downstairs we go upstairs and just Porter around play in her room or I do some tidying and she just follows she will spend ages putting stuff in and out the wash basket for example and same with the garden I give her the peg basket and she just messes for ages

Magpie21 · 15/09/2021 08:06

Hiya all, hope you are well.

Well I sleep trained my daughter 2 weeks ago and it has been a game changer. In general her sleep was always on the OK side but then she started waking up for an hour every night and I decided to make a few changes and now she gets herself off to sleep and sleeps through. So that a nice. That experience of sleep training wasn't awful at all either. We are 1 nap a day for 1.5 hours at 12-12:20pm.

@Busylizzie85 Also have the exact same situation with the buggy! It's an awkward stage isn't it.

@Gigitree Don't feel bad at all!! Your daughter has a lot of variety in her life by the sounds of it.Toddlers get so much by even just going out on a trip to the supermarket and doing normal day to day things. We have had a really quiet September due to the sleep training compared to a very busy August. In August we had play dates every day and honestly we have both been happier in September just going back to basics. We have the TV on quite a lot, go to the local park and work on her walking on the reigns 🤦‍♀️😅 Go to the Charity shops etc. (We have the TV on quite a lot but my daughter will intermittently watch it between playing. If she was to just sit there and zone out I would switch it off - We love Duggie!)

Gigitree · 15/09/2021 14:27

Thanks @mrssunshinexxx we have actually been doing that a lot lately because now she doesn’t have her morning nap I bring her upstairs with me to get ready after breakfast. It’s quite cute that we brush our teeth together. Then I just let her explore while I’m getting dressed etc.

Omg thank you so much @Magpie21 you’ve made me feel a million times better. I also have the tv on quite a lot but similarly to your little one she just watches it intermittently. I just felt like shit because I don’t think I’ve heard many other mums admit that the tv is on a lot for their little one lol! We went through a very strong love of Hey Duggee phase, but I’m sad to say I think the magic of Duggee has worn off a bit and she seems to enjoy the twirly woos more these days lol

What reigns did you get? I’ve been debating whether to get some for Grace as she is a little Dora the explorer but I don’t like to always let her out of the pram on walks as I’m worried she will run off in the other direction 😂

So glad to hear sleep training went well for you, it must be such a relief! Did you follow a particular program?

mrssunshinexxx · 15/09/2021 15:08

Had midwife app today after baby being transverse for ages she is head down vbac here I come eeeeeek!!

Busylizzie85 · 15/09/2021 19:50

@Gigitree we have the tv on all the time and she will watch it on and off mainly when the songs are being played. I don't feel it's bad to have it on and she loves Mr Tumble and the teletubbies 😊

Gigitree · 15/09/2021 20:28

Thank you @Busylizzie85 that makes me feel soooooo much better! Ahhh my nephew used to love me tumble, I might pop it on and see if she likes it!

Ahhh @mrssunshinexxx that is soooo exciting! When is your due date again? Keeping everything crossed for a successful VBAC for you 🤞🏻❤️

Magpie21 · 15/09/2021 21:32

@mrssunshinexxx how exciting! How are you feeling at this stage compared to first time round? Xx

@Gigitree TV gets such a bad rep! TV can be so educational and fun for kids. Don't get me started on Mum guilt...it's constant isn't it! We just want to do our best that why we feel like that.

The sleep method was to sit next to cot whilst my daughter fell asleep and gradually move away until night 10 when I leave the room. The first time it took 30 mins for her to fall asleep and there was protests at time but she got the hang of it very quickly. It has been a full week as of tomorrow since I left the room and now she doesn't even cry when I leave the room. Never thought we would get to this stage. Xx

mrssunshinexxx · 16/09/2021 03:07

@Magpie21 @Gigitree thank you both
I will be 37 weeks in 4 weeks exactly to 4-8 weeks I will defo have a baby booked for a section if nothing happened by 41 weeks but I think it will have so trying not to focus on that. This pregnancy has shocked me it's been so much harder pregnant with a baby/ toddler and I have PGP which is agony but trying to tell myself it's not that bad as if we have a smooth birth we would like to try again fairly soon I really want our children super close in age x

Magpie21 · 16/09/2021 14:12

@mrssunshinexxx I think it's lovely that you will have 2 girlies so close in age. I would have probably done that same if we were going to have a second. Argh, PGP sounds like hell. Poor you. Not long now though!! X

Gigitree · 16/09/2021 14:18

Bloody hell yes @Magpie21 I feel like there are some people out there who just want to make mums feel like shit 24/7
I keep trying to remind myself that she is loved, cared for and happy and that’s all that matters!
Oh that must be such a relief for you that her sleeping is so much better and it sounds like you took a really nice gradual approach which I’m sure made it easier on your both.

Those that are on one nap now, what time is the nap and how long for? Do you do lunch before or after!

Eeeek so exciting @mrssunshinexxx I’m so sorry to hear about your pgp, I had that and it was so mentally draining as well as physically hard. You’re a superstar handling that and a toddler! Hope you’re allowing yourself to rest as much as you can!

mrssunshinexxx · 16/09/2021 15:08

@Gigitree I just really wasn't expecting it when my last pregnancy was very smooth but nearly at the end now xx

Busylizzie85 · 16/09/2021 15:26

@Gigitree Ivys naps are all over the place but mostly around 11-11:30 and she sleeps anywhere from 30 mins to 1 hour and I give her lunch after but at nursery it's anyone's guess!! Today is managed to go from 4am to 1 before sleeping 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

Magpie21 · 16/09/2021 15:58

@Gigitree my guilt of the day is for not leaving the house!! We had deliveries that I couldn't miss 😟😅

Naps are between 12:00 and 12:30 for 1.5 hours.

@Busylizzie85 That sounds like a loooong morning!!
