busywithIzzy · 27/10/2007 23:38

Right I'm off to bed now.

Night Pillock and any other lurkers. xx

elkiedee · 28/10/2007 01:53

That's lovely. I think I had a pillowcase instead of a stocking last time I was at my mum's for Christmas at the age of 28, but it was so long ago I can't remember! I think I'll do one for D when he's old enough to get excited though.

MurderousMaveta · 28/10/2007 04:33

yay christmas talk! My family was always huge on xmas too, got my last stocking at 25..

Please note the time. Adjusted time 5.30am for me but I have not changed my clocks because I can´t bear to see how early it is yet. So it´s 6.30 and that´s about bearable. Except we´ve been up for 2 hours already for some reason unknown to us N has decided he is not tired in the slightest and after about an hour of tears with us (being totally unable to believe that he was awake for the day at 4am) trying to get him back to sleep, we´ve given in, had coffee and cereal and are now sitting in bed like zombies as he gurgles and plays in the middle. Crazy child. What is going on? I wanted to cry this morning, how much sleep deprivation can a person actually take??

Dh has shut the cats outdoors because they were scratching to come in our room and they are miaowing away but he won´t let them in because apparently he "can´t throw N or you (me) out so it´ll have to be them" oooooOOOOOooo.. he´s now very stroppily washing up. Might be handy if he can channel all of his annoyance into cleaning the house, hmmm.. do you think it would be a bad idea to give him a list of things that need done. You know, just in case he needs ideas?

Eddas · 28/10/2007 08:12

So, did you give hima list Maveta

CD, you're right they are a bit young to 'get' christmas, or have been. I think you might be right that your dd1 will know a bit more this year. Thing is they don't know who's bought what so don't care. I have too much for dd & ds, but it didn't cost much. DS i spent £20 on a whole heap of toys on ebay back in July! I know it was early but that's when you get the bargins I'm such a sad sap that i've pretty much got christmas all done and I have quite a few to buy for but in my defence I am an a very small budget so have been buying nice sale bits. Got loads of stuff from the Next outlet and no-one will know

My mum still did us all stockings when she was still alive, I was 24, sis was 27 Was the year she died as Dad didn't do them, bless him I've made dd's stocking so it's unique, ds will get one this year too. My mum made ours and we all loved them. Pity dad/possibly step mother, didn;t think that they shouldn't be thrown away but then we 'lost' quite a bit when they cleared our all family home

POTC I should've been quieter, did he say yes

We couldn't resist giving dd the power ranger outfit we'd bought for christmas She looks so cute and apparently is wearing it B&Q Oh and quote of the day from her 'i'm not a plank. I'm a pink power ranger' Will upload a photo onto my profile later

Sexonlegs · 28/10/2007 08:40

Morning all lovelies. Hope you and your babies slept well. We had a good night, and even though B came in at 6.15 (old time of 7.15) we fobbed her off until 7.00. K was an angel, and woke at 6.45 (old time 7.45)! V lucky indeed.

BWI, did your plan work?? Would love to meet up again. I'll email you later.

Eddas, good to hear you are feeling brighter about things. Dh and I alternate in the evenings, as we were finding that K was becoming clingy with me and B was too reliant on dh. It has made things much better and more evenly spread.

WP, hope you get your dream of having number 2 at some point. x

Can't believe Christmas is around the corner. I have to say dh and I won't buy K anything as she will get tonnes from others. For B, I usually get practical things like pyjamas! She is quite happy tbh.

Right, need to get on and sorted. Anyone doing anything exciting today? We have nothing planned at all, and the weather is pants. xx

Idreamofchocolate · 28/10/2007 08:49

Maveta, that is just tooooo early. I hope you've all managed to get back to sleep by now.

E & S are unfortunately still running on BST, so am going to have to try to drag out bedtime tonight. Actually tried that last night, but S still insisted on being asleep by 6.30pm...sigh, well she is still full of cold so hopefully we can slowly adjust her internal clock. Em was asking to go to bed last night, so I didn't manage to keep her up for too long either. Oh well, inset day tomorrow, so we have another day to adjust .

Argh, Christmas presents. Always drives me mad every year. Dippy I would love to be able to do what you're doing, it's so much more relevant to the spirit of Christmas. Instead we end up buying an obscene amount of gifts as dh's family are very big on Christmas over-indulgence, which means that we have to kind of match them in the present buying, and it just drives me insane every year. Am starting to shake at the thought of it already. And then we have the big debate about where we will spend Christmas, trying to keep everyone happy without offending anyone. Ideally we'd like to shut our doors on Christmas eve and not emerge from here until Boxing day, but that's not likely to happen.

Traalala...breath...honestly my heart rate has gone up just thinking about it...

leakyR · 28/10/2007 11:05

You lot are scaring me with all this Christmas talk! I'm usually pretty organised but for some (small person shaped) reason this year I'm not.
We won't buy a lot for G as the rest of the family are bound to go over the top. I can sympathise with IDOC about over-indulgent ILs. DH's family always buy loads, eat loads etc. Last year his mum made cakes etc in advance that had been forgotten about because there was so much other food. We were still eating Christmas cake in Feb and I'm sure we've still got a Christmas pudding (home made) in one of the kitchen cupboards.

House viewing was fun yesterday. Trying not to get too carried away though. All 4 had good points. We saw 2 "projects" that could be fantastic. Houses owned by elderly people who've passed away. They would need completely redoing but would be great ways to add value. One had an enormous garden that i could just picture G playing in. Like I say trying not to get too carried away

liath · 28/10/2007 11:18

Morning.

Last stocking here age 33, when I was pg with dd . We love Christmas but always keep a lid on gift costs whereas DH's family spend far more.

Off to a Halloween party later today, I bought a little red devil outfit for ds to wear - naff but cute .

Totally get where you're coming from, Eddas although my down time is usually at night where I think "Oh heck, will be up feeding in a few hours then have to do it all over again tomorrow". Am usually better in the morning then seriously flag about 4pm!

Shameless boast, feel free to ignore but dd spent friday at nursery in pants and didn't have a single accident, I am so chuffed!

runnyhabbit · 28/10/2007 11:34

Morning all

Haven't got a hope in hell of catching up but justed wanted to pop in and say hi

No major news from me. W has 3 teeth, and boy do we know it (my nipples in particular lol )
J and W seem to be coming to the end of a horrible viral thing thats been doing the rounds.

Take care sweeties and will try and catch up when I have more time (prob 2018)

Lucewitch · 28/10/2007 11:56

Good to see you runny.

YEAH Liath, that is fab news about your dd such a proud mummy moment when they do that.

GMM, did C sleep any better last night for you? Hope so.

Maveta and , you sound so busy. Have got some nice time off for Christmas?

Weepotion, nappies.... S is now officially 100% cloth bot here and I am loving it. A huge big thankyou to both you and Liath for answering all of my silly questions about it before I took the plunge.
I have found that I am a pocket nappy mummy so have decided to stick to those.
I thought that I would find it all it a bit too 'biological' (which had put me off) but have found that using flushable liners cures that problem
Have to say that I find using cloth nappies strangley liberating

Having trouble keeping up here because life is really busy. Trying to juggle my 4 dc's with the house/accounting course etc. Nov is going to be a hard month. I have LOADS of visitors, an exam and coursework to be in plus all of the christmas prep to do. YIKES!

Not going to get much for S this year (we have loads of toys from the other three) but have just got him a few In Night Garden bits and a few Whoozit bits. A bit harder with the other three who know exactly what is going on but still wont go mad. I find like others that family are very generous and buy toys for them so I try to be more restrained.
I do really enjoy the stockings though. Just fill them with loads 'stuff' that costs very little but they seem to like the best

Post probably isn't making alot of semse. I have three running around the room like a bunch of loons and S in his walker screeching in encouragement and delight. It is SO noisy in here

Lucewitch · 28/10/2007 12:02

OOops that was a bit of a long post

oooggs · 28/10/2007 13:01

good afternoon - so wet down here - looking on ebay for new waterproofs for ds1

elkiedee · 28/10/2007 13:10

Afternoon all. D slept through the night, woke at 6.15 new time but that's 7 old time so I feel like that's fine. Only problem is, I couldn't sleep. Baby's fine and I've become an insomniac. It's not because I'm not tired. Yawn.

mammyjo · 28/10/2007 13:41

Afternoon. Feeling so miserable again today. Eddas I really know where you are coming from. Having the two dc's really gets on top of me sometimes. Dh has taken them both out for an hour so I am sitting here in silence - bliss. I just wish I could stop these really down days. And to top it off I have the joy of my MIL over for Sunday dinner. Oh my life is just joyous

There we are, feel a bit better just for venting my miserableness on all of you! Hopefully back later when MIL has been sent back home again. Oh, I just cant wait for all the cheesy chit chat and falseness

Idreamofchocolate · 28/10/2007 14:15

Oh Mammyjo sorry you're feeling so down. I think the miserable weather and dark evenings don't help at all. Don't you get on with your MIL, or is it just the prospect of someone else being there and having to make small talk that you're dreading?

Have a few glasses of wine before she arrives, have dinner and then get comfy on the sofa and fall asleep, leaving dh to chat and tidy up. That's my usual trick .

Sending you virtual Wispas.....

WestCountryLass · 28/10/2007 15:30

Feel really out of touch with things round here these days, can't seem to keep on top of things and just seem to post that Leo and I are ill all the time!

On the Xmas front, Leo might get one small thing but having just got new walker and the like there is not much he needs. DS1 will get a game for his Nintendo and some choccies and will probably get DD that Fisher Price digital camera and some dressing up stuff. We are away which helps as can't take much with us!

CaptainDippy · 28/10/2007 17:34

ARGH - Can't BELIEVE it is 5.30pm .... it is pitch black outside - All DD's knackered, especially DD3; but trying desperately to string them out til 7.00pm. Older 2 happily playing Connect 4 (or their version of it ) downstairs, DH making P laugh manically - she has just a dirty laugh, makes me giggle too!

{{{{hugS}}}}} to mammyjo. xx

Sexonlegs · 28/10/2007 18:47

Hiya ladies

Hope you have all had good Sundays.

Mammyjo, sorry you are feeling low again, and I hope mil wasn't too bad.

Elkie, glad D had a good night. Hope you can sleep tonight!

Hi LuceWitch - you cloth addict!!

All ok here. Had friends over for lunch today which was lovely but busy, and now waiting for the head lice treatment to take effect before bath time! Can you believe we have them again!!!??? I am so incredibly tempted to shave B's hair off!!

Back to school tomorrow - hurrahhh!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tbh, last week was ok, but I think we are all ready for school now.

Right, best get on. See you later. xx

oooggs · 28/10/2007 19:10

mammyjo - I am with you there matey!!!! I am not enjoying parenting at the moment. 3 is a nightmare, I feel I can't cope or at least stay in control. I am hating it. I am tired, look a mess and are generally pissed off (also period arrived today - which doesn't help )

at 3 poorly, especially Erin, so much so that dh couldn't go to work this afternoon, she need constant attention and holding, James at 3 can understand, but it is not fair on Jack, I wouldn't have been able to hold him or play at all without her screaming. They are all currently asleep. The boys where they should be and Erin on daddys chest in the front room.

sorry such a self post - the rainy weather, dark evening & crap on telly is also making me

Lucewitch · 28/10/2007 19:24

Hugs Mammyjo and hugs and virtual magners for you too ooggs.

Glad that the holidays were okay for you SOL, just think a nice big Mocha and dipped flake for you in relative peace tomorrow

Had a hard day here. Am considering deffering my course for a year I just cant keep up with myself at the moment and seem to be in a permanent tizz.

Lucewitch · 28/10/2007 19:25

Hope that Erin feels better soon oooggs

Lucewitch · 28/10/2007 19:27

leakyR · 28/10/2007 19:46

G went down at 7.15 he's now awake and crying for the 3rd time.

Anyone else think I'm in for another shitty night?

CaptainDippy · 28/10/2007 20:09

Bloody hell ladies - sounds like all our babies / LOs have got it in for us today .... Let's all have a good whinge and get really (virtually) pissed!

Lucewitch · 28/10/2007 20:27

Dry white please!
