hello, we're over here

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
dogtanian · 30/10/2007 22:29

I don't know what I did, it's been fat and sore for a few days. I'm going to dr tomorrow if its not better. It feels as it someone is squeezing my knee and it hurts when I put weight on it. Maybe that's because I'm so fat!

upsyderlor · 30/10/2007 22:29

oh oh oh, i forgot my sis is due back at work in 2 weeks from her mat leave and she IS pg again - PMSL when she told me!!!! (she struggled to cope with my 2 last week when i was ill
have you put frozen peas on your knee Holly?

OP posts:
foxystein · 30/10/2007 22:30

What have you been up to Holly?

Derlor, one last question (meant to ask it earlier) what if she'd NOT having dirty nappies. Kellymom says 3 or 4 a day. I don't get that in a week.

upsyderlor · 30/10/2007 22:30

keep it elevated when you are sitting down and sleep with it on a pillow as well.
does it feel hot? any redness?

IamDaisy · 30/10/2007 22:32

Sputnik...from your last post, you've definately been living in Italy too long, LOL

I'm not going back....I feel sick even thinking about work. I've not even taken DD in to show her off, and have offended the office girls as a result. I just know I'll get the third degree over something I did before I went off on ML, or there will have been a huge problem with one of my projects that someone will feel the need to fill me in on (I have no confidence in my abilities as an Engineer, sadly).

I may get something part time on weekends when DH is home to do the kiddy sitting. It'll mean we'll see each other even less, but that's not such a bad thing as we only ever seem to snipe at each other these days!

upsyderlor · 30/10/2007 22:33

some babies only have dirty nappies 1 or 2 times a week,(not my babies though, oh no - all my babies have been FULL of shite ) are her nappies always nice and wet?
it should be sodden in the morning.

OP posts:
foxystein · 30/10/2007 22:35

LOL!

Yep, good heavy landfill several times a day.

IamDaisy · 30/10/2007 22:35

cross posted sputnik. LOL.

Holly, have you been falling about drunk again? Seriously though, sounds sore. Get thee to the docs.

Am definately off to bed now!

Catch you all tomorrow.

Good Luck for your plan foxy

dogtanian · 30/10/2007 22:36

It's a bit hot and red, but mostly just lumpy and swollen. Hopefully it's just one of those things and it'll get better on its own.

Thanks for putting your nursey hat on derlor!

Foxy, my ds poos about once every 2 days. 3-4 a day is a lot!

Ds screaming again, off to hobble up the stairs to bed xxxx

IamDaisy · 30/10/2007 22:38

oops, foxy, I meant to say, after the forst six weeks of constant pooing, DD only produces every two or three days now, so I wouldn't worry too much about the pooing, although she does produce more if she is having a growth spurt and feeding more.

and FYI....WHO growth charts

foxystein · 30/10/2007 22:39

You've not got a mossie bite or something have you?

Thanks everyone for all your support, kind words and wisdom you've shared. You've made a big difference. xx

Nite all x

upsyderlor · 30/10/2007 22:39

night Daisy x
foxy it really does sound fine to me,

what is your gut instinct as her mum?
were you worried prior to getting her weighed?
does she seem healthy and happy to you?

OP posts:
foxystein · 30/10/2007 22:45

Derlor, I was worried as I knew she hadn't put on in 3 weeks - I could tell she was no bigger. BUT I think I was worried about what they would say (i.e. give her a bottle) than about her health.

I'm going to have one last stab at it. Now I'm off for my Horlicks and to feed.

LOLove x

foxystein · 30/10/2007 22:46

BTW, thanks for the reassurance Derlor

upsyderlor · 30/10/2007 22:48

Sputnik · 30/10/2007 23:19

When DD was this age she pooed every 5 or 6 days, and she was a porker.

milkyJammy · 31/10/2007 08:41

Morning all.

Foxy, I'll add to the reassurance that they can healthily go a few days between poos.

Just cut DD's fingernails, as my breasts were in danger of being ripped to shreds as she mauls them while feeding. Anyone would have thought I was murdering her the fuss she made! Unfortunately I can remember making an equal fuss when my fingernails were cut when I was at least 3, so I know it's not necessarily something she'll get used to anytime soon

andiem · 31/10/2007 09:39

hi ladies

my tiler has arrived to do my bathroom today so I am vv happy

I echo what derlor says foxy if she seems happy and helthy to you and lots of wees I wouldn't worry. On the who charts she looks to be on the second line below average so not on the 9th centile more like 25th hope you had a good night.

fairy fay would love to meet for coffee but not this week unfortunately could you do next week??????

off out this am to get final bits for egyptian outfit for ds

catch up later....

BadZelda · 31/10/2007 09:53

Morning all. Would it be over the top to buy this for DDs for Xmas?

BadZelda · 31/10/2007 09:56

oops wrong link

Not so keen on baby walkers - but then DD1 started crawling like lightning at 6 mo so I'm just as happy if DD2 decides she wants to be a bit less mobile (though isn't looking like that currently)

Foxy...just to add to the mix, Matilda certainly doesn't poo every day, which my GP was shocked by...I think I was more shocked that the GP seemed to know so little about babies.
You know yourself if she's happy and healthy I think...personally I haven't been really bothering with the weigh-ins, mainly because waiting an hour in the clinic with both DDs isn't really my idea of fun!

IamDaisy · 31/10/2007 10:37

Morning....had another peaceful night chez moi. I'm going to try an hold out with the weaning for the time being I think...derlor, if I started weaning, is it OK to stop? She was only having a few tablespoons of baby rice or porridge twice a day. We tried to give her some "proper" food, but that just seemed to upset her.

BZ, the doll's house is lovely. Not over the top at all. I'm sure DD1 will have lots of fun with it!

Jammy, try cutting them when she is either very sleepy or preferably asleep. Much less stressful for all concerned

dogtanian · 31/10/2007 10:45

Morning!

I'm sure it's ok to stop weaning daisy. After all baby rice tastes yuk, so I doubt she'd miss it!

Lovely house BZ, my dd would love that, so I'm sure yours would. Not OTT at all!

My knee is a bit better thanks to ibuprofen gel. The swelling has gone down a lot and it is less painful.

BadZelda · 31/10/2007 10:57

Actually she's already got some of the furniture and the little people - and a mini version of the house we got at a jumble sale for two quid. They're really beautifully made and I think will have a long play-life for both the DDs. Right: I've talked myself into it!

IamDaisy · 31/10/2007 10:59

Morning holly.....you can take paracetomol as well as using the ibuprufen if it's still sore. Do you know how you did it? Is it a sprain? If so "Rest Ice Compression Elevation" is the key, I believe.

I've finally attained infamy on MN

Not sure I want it for being a blocked duct expert though

BadZelda · 31/10/2007 11:00

I've been feeding DD2 quite random stuff tbh - a bit of mashed potato here, a carrot stick there - although she's usually more interested in BFing through dinner unfortunately for me.
