hello, we're over here

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
IamDaisy · 30/10/2007 21:51

jamantha, you have to get one. It's every new parents rite of passage to watch as their lovingly created child free home is wrecked beyond reason by a gleeful, grinning, marauding maniac on six wheels

DSs minky yo-yos arrived. They are Huuuuuuge. First night on the inserts stayed relatively dry as all the wee shot out of the waistband and soaked everything. I think it's a question of getting the padding in the right place, but DS is understandably reticent....even though he thinks they look like "spotty tarzan pants"

upsyderlor · 30/10/2007 21:58

Daisy. i thought you were away for the night?!?!
i've sent you a gift on facebook BTW

IamDaisy · 30/10/2007 22:00

i missed the first ten mins of spooks and couldn't understand what was going on. Besides, it's warmer in this room!

ooooh a gift.....thank you

dogtanian · 30/10/2007 22:04

I'm back...ds stopped crying, then dd started screaming. She had done a massive poo! As much as I love cloth nappies sometimes I wish I could just fold up the disgusting thing and chuck it in the bin. I hate mucking about rinsing and soaking shit covered nappies...then I give myself a slap and look at my lovely stash with dewy eyes!

Let me know how it goes with the yoyos daisy, I was thinking about getting dd some. I have also just bought a wacky wrap...it is the cutest wrap ever!

Hey foxy! Lying to HVs is all part of being a mother, surely?

foxystein · 30/10/2007 22:06

Now you are just being silly Derlor.

Pureed sausage rolls from Greggs of course

But I did see a dad pour his Maccy D's chocolate milkshake into his son's bottle and give it to him. The wee boy was about the same age as ours. I was very [shocked]. But he drank it.

Perhaps thats where I'm going wrong...

dogtanian · 30/10/2007 22:07

I wish I could have McDs milkshake in a bottle...mmmm!!

upsyderlor · 30/10/2007 22:10

i took DD into work today,(felt sick when walking in) i NEVER want to go back there, i want to be a SAHM
at the choc milkshake Foxy, it's usually irn bru here!! (wish i was joking)

OP posts:
dogtanian · 30/10/2007 22:12

That's why I didn't go back to work derlor, the thought of doing my old job again fills me with dread and makes me feel sick.

upsyderlor · 30/10/2007 22:14

you not going back at all Holly?
foxy - i've solved your dilema....check facebook, LOL

OP posts:
foxystein · 30/10/2007 22:15

Are you going to go back Derlor? When?

Jeez, I need to wash my hair. Its rank.

upsyderlor · 30/10/2007 22:16

trouble is we don't pay for childcare or anything, so i have no reason to persuade DH to let me give up work IYSWIM??...answers on a postcard PLEASE

OP posts:
upsyderlor · 30/10/2007 22:18

not due back till April so still AGES. i'm just loving being off - never felt like this previoulsy, always wanted to go back to work, was already back by now after DS actually.

OP posts:
dogtanian · 30/10/2007 22:19

Nope, I haven't done paid work since I went on mat leave with dd. My job was so crappy that I would be no better off working as the childcare would be almost all my wage. That's why I'm doing my web design evening course, so I can stay at home an earn a bit of cash.

You would think I worked full time though if you came to my house! It's a right shit hole! There's laundry everywhere.

Derlor...sorry to ask you this, but can you take ibuprofen whilst bfing? Some people say yes, some say no.

Sputnik · 30/10/2007 22:19

at milkshake
Holly, have you tried disposable liners? I use those, then dry pail then a rinse cycle in machine before wash.

dH had left his phone in someone's car, dozy bugger

dogtanian · 30/10/2007 22:21

I do that sputnik, but poo always goes over the edge and ends up squished on the nappy. It is ok with runny ds poo, it isn't real poo anyway, but dd poo is real and stinky! I am so looking forward to her being potty trained!

upsyderlor · 30/10/2007 22:23

yes Holly you can - it is safe

OP posts:
Sputnik · 30/10/2007 22:24

Foxy, beenn readng your thread, glad you have a plan, can you not just tell hV you are trying a last ditch attempt? Is 1 or 2 weeks more going to make much difference, asa long asa DD is making wwet nappies etc? Derlor?

foxystein · 30/10/2007 22:24

Yay! Brand new Kath & Kim starts on Living TV on Thursday. That has made my day.

What a saddo!

dogtanian · 30/10/2007 22:25

Sweet, my knee is double the size it should be and I can't straighten it or walk properly. I'm hoping the ibuprofen will bring the swelling down.

upsyderlor · 30/10/2007 22:26

oh should have asked, you don't have asthma do you Holly? can't take brufen if you do.

OP posts:
Sputnik · 30/10/2007 22:26

Ha, I'm typing with an Italian accent now

foxystein · 30/10/2007 22:27

That's what I will do Sputnik. And I might go and see the nice GP lady who has small children herself for a second opinion.

Derlor, yes, I know what you can tell DH so you don't have to go back to work.

"I'm pregnant!" heee heee.

Go on, you know you want to

Sputnik · 30/10/2007 22:28

What happened to your knee?

upsyderlor · 30/10/2007 22:28

yup Sputnik, wet and dirty nappies and an an alert and happy baby = healthy to me

OP posts:
dogtanian · 30/10/2007 22:28

Nope, no asthma. I have been taking paracetamol, but that hasn't made any difference to the pain or swelling. I think I'll try ibuprofen and see if that helps.
