I spent most of the evening yesterday crying, luckily Callum settled easy and slept from 10:30-4. I still can't believe it happened.

Fiona - what does the Gina Ford programme entail?

Sparkly - awww you poor thing.

Haven't done much really today - at least that's what it feels like! Went to the electrical wholesalers to get some bits to finally put more plug sockets in the front room (DP is an electrician) because we had about 2 sockets in teh whole room and it was just extension lead city! Nightmare! Looks much better now tho without trails of cables across the room.

Out of interest, when do babies start producing real tears?

Pixie - it once happened to me in Cardiff in MAY!!!!! I was on a night out wearing jeans, open toed sandals and a short sleeved top cos it was warm. When I left the nightclub 3 hrs later it was thick snow. The roads were all being closed, it was the middle of the night and I was freezing. I did realise how people actually froze to death overnight in their car . I was taken off the motorway by the police eventually as they decided to shut it - found a travelodge at 5am.

Fiona - I follow gf and it's been brilliant. You have to start the day at 7am or it goes wrong - it's to do with the first feed. DD feeds pretty much when she should but sleeps much longer than recommended at morning and afternoon naps. Not a problem though cos she's now going through the night. I would try cutting down the 3am feed if possible so that she is hungry at 7am.

Sparkly - so sorry about the cat

Rg - Megan appears to have real tears, certainly something is streaming down her cheeks when she really gets going.

Morning ladies!

Ugh, well we've deffo deffo discovered that if Ellie is out of the house past her "bedtime" then everything goes out the window! DP and I decided to go for dinner at the pub last night (and very very nice it was too!) so we bathed Ellie first and then wrapped her up and took her with us. She slept the entire time in her pram, which meant that DP and I had our first uninterrupted meal (three courses, i might add! ) in almost six weeks! It was lovely and i really enjoyed my wine too! We left the pub at about 10.30 and Ellie had been oblivious to it all. However as soon as we got in her eyes were PING! wide awake. In the end she didn't fall asleep until gone 1am and then woke at 5am. She then fussed from 5am until 8am more or less constantly. Cant blame her tho - she's not had a poo for about a week now and i think she's deffo brewing for an explosion. Her farts are HORRENDOUS!!! If she doesn't have a big poo by the end of today i'll pop into the chemist and see if they have anything that can help her. So i brought her downstairs coz I thought I might as well get up and guess what?? NOW she bloomin' sleeps!!!

Time for breakfast i think!

Hope you all had good nights!

Silk- I think the 7am start is a good idea. She is so happy on the routine and is now so easy to put to bed. I just went in to open the window in her room while she was having a nap and she was lying awake gurgling to herself- so cute.

RG- If you are interested you should get the book I found it really good although I don't follow it to the letter but it gives me the general idea and she is so happy on it as she is now getting enough sleep.

Hello everyone, not much to report apart from the usual which is why I haven't been on recently.

We had some friends down last night and Adam was wide awake for most of the evening cos he is just so blooming nosey! But he slept from 1 till about 7 - does that count as sleeping through?! It does in my book . I woke up thinking I must have gone mad because I couldn't remember his 4 o'clock feed.

Adam continues to thrive and is now 13lbs 6! Eek. But HV said not to worry, all in proportion. HV lovely actually which is a bonus as it seems there are some crap HVs out there. Is actually quite lean at the moment having grown in length (Adam, not the HV!).

Went to look at the nursery which is attached to my DH's work and wasn't overly impressed. Just looked a bit grubby. Think he will be with mil 2 days a week and 1 day in childcare of some sort. Not looking forward to leaving him but not going back till August.

Hope you are all having a chilled Sunday x

Sarahlou, I think 1 till 7 is sleeping through! Congrats. And well done on his weight - he's doing great.

RG, your night out sounds fab! And Ellie sounds like a dream. Shame she didnt sleep well after...

Fiona/Silk, I admire you for doing GF. How does it work with bf though Fiona - are you making Anabel feed to the routine, or feeding on demand?

We had the night from hell last night. Rebecca didnt sleep more than half an hour at a time until 4 am. Her sleep avoidance really gets to me sometimes! And I'm having root canal tomorrow afternoon, so my parents are taking her. I guess I'm too tired to dread it too much..!

Been into town today - she was as nosy as ever and peered at everyone. Did the weeks shop in M and S - have done this far too often since having her!

Cheers Chocolate but I am sure he only slept through because he wore himself (and us) out! Sorry you had a pants night, sleep deprivation is torture. You deserve to shop at M&S! I regularly treat myself to having the food delivered now - even if Adam stays asleep, I am so worried that he will wake up and demand a feed that I forget half the stuff I went for.
