foxystein · 23/10/2007 17:17

god no! have to think of something to feed the children before i get round to us. I think its DPs turn to 'cook'

milkyJammy · 23/10/2007 17:42

arse!!! The lovely, huge, and rather expensive, silicone ice cube tray I bought to freeze pureed food for DD is not dishwasher safe. It's come out all mangled and mishapen

Bumperlicious · 23/10/2007 17:48

Ok, DD hates sleeping in her crib, day or night but is too big for the moses basket - help!

Bumperlicious · 23/10/2007 17:49

she is so tired and hasn't slept since 5am (neither have i) and now screaming the house down. Arrrrggghhhhhhh!

milkyJammy · 23/10/2007 17:57

Poor Bumper. Sounds like many 6pms in this house. No suggestionsw about crib though, sorry, other than try again tonight

Bumperlicious · 23/10/2007 18:02

would it be better to duct tape the ummy in her mouth or duct tape her hands that take it out but can't get it bck in yet?

Bumperlicious · 23/10/2007 18:03

dummy

Sputnik · 23/10/2007 18:24

Try putting her in the crib during the day (awake) so she gets used to it.
Dunno about the dummy.
Corraggio, as the Italians say

LittleMissNorty · 23/10/2007 18:28

A gro bag might make her feel more secure? My LO has been in a big cot since 6 weeks and at first I used to tuck her in tight...and give her a (used and therefore familiar smelling) muslin....

LittleMissNorty · 23/10/2007 18:29

We have learnt to pull dummy out and shove it back in on our own so hopefully won't be long...

Bumperlicious · 23/10/2007 18:34

She was in a sleeping bag last night. She could manage the basket for another week or so. Do you think I should put her in the basket in the crib IYSWIM? Or persevere with just the crib. Tried putting her in it during the day but not really having any of it...

Bumperlicious · 23/10/2007 18:39

Oh, now daddy is home we are all smiles

IwansMam · 23/10/2007 18:55

Bumper - quick message as we're about to walk the dogs but to reassure you, DS will not sleep in his cot during the day, its either on me or in the pram. He will 'play' in it though when he's not tired. Persevere with the crib at night though, making it a nice place which smells of mummy, put a nice toy in it (which stays) etc and it should get easier.

Now, is someone can tell DS that waking 5 times during the night and not getting himself back to sleep is simply not acceptable then I would be grateful. (Bit of a shock when twice in the night is classed as a bad night)

milkyJammy · 23/10/2007 19:26

If she will fit in the basket, I'd say try that inside the crib. We did that the first night DD went into her cot, and were prepared to do it for a whole week if necessary but thankfully she took straight to it (at night at least)

HellHathNoFury · 23/10/2007 20:54

have not caught up yet

had a shit day

fucking 21 year old upstart started taking the piss out of my phone usage today, and my boss jumps on the bandwagon. Admittedly I had used the phone a lot today, I had to find a new cleaner, book airport cabs, also the dog had been to the vet etc and apart from anything else I was low and crying on the phone to DH.

I got pissed off and sent an email to boss saying 'If you have an issue with my phone usage please take it up with me directly. I am happy to meet expectations but do not appreciate public jibes' or words to that effect anyway.

He responds with 'The client noticed your phone usage, not me, and that should concern you more than anything. And as a professional contractor, I would expect you to manage your own behaviour'

Which took me down a peg or 50.

THEN I find out today is the day he decides who is renewed. I don't think I have been.

SO now I have bad atmosphere at work, limited funds and a dirty great big fuck off car to pay for that I DIDN'T WANT and now I have to start looking for another job for january where if I had just KEPT MY BIG FUCKING MOUTH SHUT I might still have a job come january.

milkyJammy · 23/10/2007 21:09

That sounds like a real crappy day Fury. Sorry.

Try to relax this evening and hope it goes better tomorrow. it is, after all, another day. In the meantime be good to yourself tonight.

fairyfay · 23/10/2007 21:13

Sorry you've had such a shitty day Fury. Hopefully your boss won't hold a grudge. If he doesn't renew you then maybe you'll find something closer to home - every cloud...?

Sending hugs

HellHathNoFury · 23/10/2007 21:17

I just watched 'knocked up' with DS to take my mind off things. It did help.

My sis also got her period today - the IVF didn't take. I guess on balance I can always get another job, or sell the car....her problems put mine to shame and I need to remember that sometimes.

fairyfay · 23/10/2007 21:20

for your sister, she must be gutted

milkyJammy · 23/10/2007 21:21

Sorry to hear that about your sis. Can she have another go?

HellHathNoFury · 23/10/2007 21:23

yes she can...just all about the £££.

Anyway I am off to bed. Have a nice night all x

milkyJammy · 23/10/2007 21:25

Sleep well, Fury. I'm off to bed myself.

foxystein · 23/10/2007 21:50

shitfuckwankbollocksarse for you Fury

what a lot of shite in one day.

sleep well. Hope tomorrow is better xx

HellHathNoFury · 24/10/2007 07:47

morning all x

Hope everyone is ok today.
My eyes are sore and I have a headache but I guess this is to be expected, have had a pants couple of days!

One thing is for sure - I shall not use the phone!!

Bumperlicious · 24/10/2007 07:48

Good luck today fury, hope it's good news. I know it's not the same thing but my boss once had a word with me over phone usage but then it's the civil service and they never sack people (even when they are useless). Mortifying! But anyway, you are fab and they would be mad not to renew you. And it is unprofessional to convey serious things by joking. I hate it when people do that, you never know where you stand.

for your sister though. Is there a reason or just 'one of those things'?

Iwansman, this isn't as bad as your DS but 3.20 last night. 3 frigging 20! We put the basket in the crib and she went down fine. 3.20 she woke up and was sucking her fingers. Left her for about 10 mins till it became clear she wasn't going back down, so I fed her, then put her back in the crib without the basket. That didn't seem to bother her but she kept taking her dummy out then getting frustrated coz she couldn't get back it back in, so I spent 20 mins getting up to put it back for her. Now I know that makes me a mug, but 4am is not a good time to make her learn, especially when we have just moved into a new flat which is in an old Georgian mansion and sound carries! But today I'm going to try not giving it back to her so she learns that if she takes it out it stays out!

Quick question though, DD's hands are freezing at night but if I put mitts on she just sucks the mitts. Which is better? Cold sucked hands or sucked mitts? (Sorry for the rant. Not helped that I also woke up at 1.30 for no fathomable reason and at 5.30 when the heating came on)
