OMG another Zappa fan!

Sputnik · 22/10/2007 16:47

Wow Holly, which bodypart did he amputate this time?

MHC re ponchos, that exactly why, faff, sleeves, zips pah can't be havinng with that. Anyone seen any nice ones?

LittleMissNorty · 22/10/2007 16:58

Those ponchos are gorgeous! Had a snooze on sofa with snotty DD this afternoon....all this talk of cloth nappies...I'm afraid my leak was from a good old huggies

MJ - hope you're ok....take it easy....? low blood sugar...do you need some chocolate?

Right, better get going and make it look as if I've been doing something today

milkyJammy · 22/10/2007 17:02

No chocolate to be had here, unfortunately. But had a mango smoothie lolly and a quiet time playing with DD and giving her a massage.

LittleMissNorty · 22/10/2007 17:30

are you feeling better MJ? Is DH home yet?

milkyJammy · 22/10/2007 17:31

Not really, but DH is on his way

Sputnik · 22/10/2007 17:37

Not Mexican but Peruvian

Bumperlicious · 22/10/2007 18:00

MJ, hope you are ok. Ear infection perhaps?

Gorge poncho but you'd think considering the difference in size that a baby one would be cheaper than a 5 yr old's!

I'm off too, dh back soon and resolved not to spend all evening on here (much as i would like to)!

milkyJammy · 22/10/2007 18:10

hugely sore throat kicking in, so think i may be coming down with something

Sputnik · 22/10/2007 18:15

Still cheper thn jojo though. And tht site has some lovely girl's dresses too

Rabbitbreath · 22/10/2007 18:51

Bumperlicious - plesae tell your mom that our dd (4 1/2 months old) is on Aptimal 2 (formula milk) and she still wakes up for a middle of the night feed or 2 - so even though their bodies digest breast milk quicker - moving to formula milk is not necessarily the answer and the Health Visitors insist not giving babies under 6 months solids, so I am trying to delay giving her milk rice as long as possible. I am tempted though as I think the formula milk is just not enough for her anymore!

Rabbitbreath · 22/10/2007 19:03

Sputnik - thanks for welcoming note!

Had lots of poo spills on this side - it seems Huggies and Pampers don't understand babies' poo velocity?! Not sure whether it would have been less of an issue if we used real nappies!

One thing that works magic for poo on baby's clothes is Nappisan which you can buy at any grocery store - no bleach needed!! This stuff is fantastic and it smells nice too!

HellHathNoFury · 22/10/2007 19:43

oh bollocks. No wonder I am massive. All the food I like is heavy in syn value.

upsyderlor · 22/10/2007 19:46

yooooohooooo!!
i've had a shitey day today. DD1 bit DD2 on the foot (hard) because she "felt like it!!!!!" i couldn't believe it, she has been great with her up until now so i just don't understand it!
she got grounded, no TV, and bed straingt after tea with no story or supper!!! - i'm NOT one of those false threat moms - oh no not me!
anyway DD2 is fine (teeth marks are now gone)
aaaarrrrrgggggghhhhhhh!
anyway enough about me, how is everyone else?
Bumper (welcome back ) i saw your thread, and i agree with the majority of stick to your guns and basically have an answer for everything - if you need any extra info feel free to email me and i'll see what i can dig out re WHO recommendations etc x

Hi to all
Rabbit - I'm a newbie here. My 2nd DC was born 7 June. I feel like a new mom again as have a DS already and DD are definitely different.

Bumper, all the ladies here have missed you. Hope you're doing better. Don't worry about your mother. My mother and mother in law have something to say about EVERYTHING when it comes to parenting (from "well you were never put on your back to sleep", "you should be potty training now", etc) In my head I just hear 'blah, blah, blah'. Smile, thank them for the advice and do what you want to do.

Oh Fury I understand.
I spent all of Friday at a toddler's party declining cake and other sweets saying "I'm being good" and spent Friday night eating pizza with DH (too tired to cook) followed by ice cream.

UGH

milkyJammy · 22/10/2007 20:00

Sorry you've had a bad day of it Derlor. How old are your children?

HellHathNoFury · 22/10/2007 20:01

I am just so pissed off, I just had a shopping delivery, there was me thinking I was being good and ordering low fat, I may as well have taken £50 and chucked it away as I bought all these 'synful' things!

bugger it. I am going to eat it anyway.

upsyderlor · 22/10/2007 20:04

thanks Jammy - my children are (lovely DS - 8, devilDD1 3.5 and DD2 4 months)
Fury - definately eat all your shopping THEN start the diet

HellHathNoFury · 22/10/2007 20:06

Derlor I like you
you say all the right things.
I am going to bed in a mo to dream of a world filled with chocolate spinach.

upsyderlor · 22/10/2007 20:06

, i aim to please x

milkyJammy · 22/10/2007 20:09

I can try to bite my tongue at how I think it's wrong to use words such as synful (even with the comedy spelling) about food, but not sure if I've got the willpower, sorry.

An ex work colleague once sat eating gorgeous looking chocolate cake, going on the whole time about how it was positively evil. I really wanted to tell her to shut the f-up, it was only a bit of cake ffs, it couldn't possibly be positively evil, the murdering gimp making the news headlines maybe, a piece of cake, no.

Sorry, rant over.

milkyJammy · 22/10/2007 20:10

How do you "ground" a 3.5 year old, Derlor? Sorry if that sounds daft, just trying to get my head round this discipline thing.

upsyderlor · 22/10/2007 20:13

LOL jammy - no food is a sin in my opinion (except black pudding yeugh) just eat little bits/lots of what you fancy, and enjoy
