hi Derlor, Foxy and everyone else - thanks for welcoming me back and yes, I absolutely LOVE being a mom - dd will be 5 months old on 2nd November - where has the time gone!!

She cut her first tooth a week before her 4 months' birthday and the second one came about 2 weeks later - too cute for words!!

My mom told me that both my brother and I were early teethers!

DD is doing swimming lessons and she loves it - dh took an underwater video of her swimming solo today and I e-mailed it to my parents back in South Africa - my dad was so upset he could not look at it - shame man!

Derlor - hope you are feeling better.

Someone mentioned a blocked nose - I find that Olbas (spelling?) really works for when dd has a blocked nose. I think the blocked nose, green poo, lack of appetite and crying and of course all that drooling are all signs of teething as dd had these symptoms with both teeth. Now we are waiting for the top 2 teeth to pop out ;-)

Re ironing - get someone from an agency for £6 an hour to do it for you - I HATE IRONING and even though I am currently on maternity leave I still insist on getting help with this as I just don't have the patience to stand and iron for ages and ages and ages!!

foxystein · 21/10/2007 22:39

£1.75 for a big slice of quiche. Not cheap, but OK, its homemade and good. And the bread is delish.

Oh the shame!

riabutterflew · 21/10/2007 22:43

If I have been sufficiently insulting I must go.

Think I might go for the co-sleeping/help yourself method again tonight, although baggins can't work a bra yet (his dad will be disappointed in him!) I felt better for it first thing and tomorrow I'll get to sleep in the car.

Hope all poorly DCs are better soon, and hope everyone has a good week. I'll miss you (because I'll have to be 100% positive all the time all week too).

Back soon, don't have too much fun without me! Rx

Insulting Ria? Noooo. Never

Have a lovely time - you will be missed! xx

HellHathNoFury · 22/10/2007 08:27

morning all.
Any lurkers?

milkyJammy · 22/10/2007 08:28

morning fury, just checking in while LO naps face down on my lap

milkyJammy · 22/10/2007 08:36

Am pretty tired as she hasn't got back into the habit of sleeping through til 4 or 5 (or sometimes even 6!). Still she made it until almost 3 last night, better than 2 o'clock like the previous 4 nights had been

HellHathNoFury · 22/10/2007 08:38

you must be shattered!
DS keeps waking at 4 these days. Not nice.
How was your holiday?

milkyJammy · 22/10/2007 08:45

holiday was lovely, thanks. I have added some pics to my facebook profile if anyone is interested.

She does go back to sleep but I've just got used to sleeping much longer uninterrupted. And the earlier she is with that first wake up, the earlier she wakes up later, for good

milkyJammy · 22/10/2007 08:51

Did I see you did some wedding photos? How did it go? I've agreed to do my nieces's (in a couple of years so plenty of time to prepare) and am both v.excited and v.nervous

Bumperlicious · 22/10/2007 08:56

Morning all,

Just checking back in! Having a duvet day today as DD has decided to start waking at 5 for a feed so I feed her in bed with me then she falls asleep but is so wriggly that she kept me a awake! Plus we put her in her crib for the first time last night and though she didn't seem to mind it she did keep waking up. So, v tired, as it seems are some of you!

HHNF, sorry DS is waking at 4 but I am a little relieved that it's not just the bf babies, as my mum seems to think that bfing is causing all my problems and that DD will sleep through the night if I give her formula or baby rice. Of course none of her babies had a funny time at 4 months Anyway, that's a whole other post for that rant! Don't want to come back and be so negative - sorry! The good news is DH has had his breast feeding epiphany and is now firmly back on board with me and decided he needs to look after me better

Derlor hope you are feeling better now. LMN, sorry DD has been so poorly

I did my firewalk by the way! Didn't hurt at all, and no hypnosis or meditation kinda clap trap before hand!

Bumperlicious · 22/10/2007 09:04

I put a couple of pics of the firewalk on my facebook profile!

milkyJammy · 22/10/2007 09:04

Well done on the coalwalk, and yay! for DH being on borad. Wish I had someone wanting to take more care of me. (Well to be honest would hate it if it was anyone other than DH)

milkyJammy · 22/10/2007 09:06

those pics look hot!

milkyJammy · 22/10/2007 09:09

We're off out now though. Got some display mounts to collect from our local picture framers ready for photo club next week and then going to a baby group.

LittleMissNorty · 22/10/2007 09:23

Morning ladies...Welcome back Bumper ....glad things are a bit better for you...

DD done 13 hours last night and has woken up with a snotty nose so looks like the cold is probably coming out. Done the matress thing last night but may have slanted it a bit too much as she slid down the cot a bit by morning .

So today is "babygro day" for DD....lots of sleep and cuddles, heating on and as much milk as I can get down her and some calpol if necessary. Going to leave the doctors if I can as I hate antibiotics and don't really want her having any more unless absolutely necessary...AIBU? I also don't want to turn into a mum that is down there all the time for things that I can deal with....will see how she is this afternoon I think...its so difficult to know whats best but if I go to GP I will get another prescription..

I do need to take the dog out as my walker is on her hols but if she's wrapped up warm with a hat and in her cosytose, she'll be ok won't she?

Hope you all have a good day....

Bumperlicious · 22/10/2007 09:26

The fresh air will probably do her good LMN if she is bundled up!

HellHathNoFury · 22/10/2007 10:19

Yay bumper is back!

HellHathNoFury · 22/10/2007 10:20

Jammy don't worry about the photos. It is a bit nervous at first but if you have a clear idea in your head what you (and the B&G want) it is easy making it happen. 'stand here do this feet together smile!' etc.

Just hope that it's sunny, that makes it A LOT easier!

TALLULAHSPELL · 22/10/2007 10:52

Hi - just popping in to say byeeeee!!!
Leaving this afternoon - not looking forward to the flights but sure will be worth it when am on the beach this weekend.

Not sure when I'll get near a computer but will try to check in every now & then.

Welcome back Bumper.

IwansMam · 22/10/2007 10:54

LMN - sorry DD not well and hope she's better soon, and YANBU for trying to avoid doctor and waiting until this afternoon (providing she's still feeding).

Re the slope, DS always moves down the bed during the night, and sometimes rotates 90 degrees. It maybe that DD has just learnt a new trick .

Hi Bumper, nice to meet you.

IwansMam · 22/10/2007 10:56

Tallulah, enjoy your hols (and the flight!) and am about the beach.

Bumperlicious · 22/10/2007 11:02

ooh good luck T! Have a fab time!

Hi Iwansmam, and any other newbies I missed. I took a short lived break but am going to be better about not staying on mn all day and night!

This is the battle i'm having with my mum at the moment.

LittleMissNorty · 22/10/2007 11:06

Thanks Bumper and Iwansmum....she is still feeding fine so will wait and see...pretty miserable though...I've just washed and changed her (into a designer babygro a doctor colleague bought her!) and put a teeny bit snuffle babe on the front where she can smell it...think perhaps I can bugger the housework and provide lots of cuddles in front of TV today.......

LittleMissNorty · 22/10/2007 11:07

Tallulah...have a FAB time...and hope flights are ok with LO x
